Reaper War book “Tagalong” to be picked up as an HV Miniseries

“Tagalong”, Chloe Larson’s wartime account of her experiences while embedded with the SAMC 2/9th battalion which has been praised by critics and readers alike for its frank and unflinching portrait of military life in wartime, has had its rights acquired by the Star Broadcasting Office for production as an 8-part HV miniseries event.

With casting currently underway, SBO has already tabbed Joshua Harmon, the showrunner for the critically acclaimed “Atreus” as director, and Paxius Award-winning director Marius Pilun as executive producer.

“Ms. Larson’s book is quite possibly the quintessential account of the Reaper War” Harmon said in an interview with EEM shortly after the announcement. “As such, it is our goal to provide a faithful and authentic adaptation of her account that pays credit to the struggles, heroism and sacrifices of the Alliance Marine Corps.”

When asked whether it was too soon to be making an entertainment event about the Reaper War, Harmon stated “I see Ms. Larson’s book less in the context of the war itself, and rather the story of individual men and women that happened to be caught up in such a tumultuous period, and each of them just trying to make sense of it in their own ways. At least, it is what me, Mr. Pilun and SBO are aiming to portray here.”

Filming is said to begin sometime around June.

Feel like it's not everyday that you get a civvie writing something who actually seems to realize that marines aren't just like them 'cept with guns and uniforms. Plus she gets props from me for sticking it out with the battalion for the duration.

'Sides I like Harmon and Pilun, they'll make a good story out of it one way or the other.

The Marines in my outfit just love that book, and it's nice to see it make the transition to an HV miniseries.

Bit of an odd statement, that. I wouldn't suggest any one species could give a quintessential account. If the humans like this one good for them, I'll add it to my to-read list. But I might recommend Fires Over Menae or Tuchankan Sunrise: Memoirs of the Exiled Shamans as well.

I'll download those to my omnitool. Maybe I can find some time to read them.

Those who enjoy this sort of show can have a nice time, then. I'll not be joining them.

While I know it's important to leave something to help future generations understand what we all lived through, I have enough Reaper War in my life already. I can't go anywhere without someone recognizing me or thanking me for what I did during the fighting, and while I appreciate their gestures, what I really want is a good night's sleep, and, if I'm getting greedy, a whole day without having to remember the Reaper War.
