Acta Non Verba

Just after the war, my associate Ben Maupin and I formed a military company hoping to provide top-tier mercenary work.
We were unsure of the business aspect of the organization, so we hired a man that we thought could manage business decisions.
This man hired another one rather recently that staged a kidnapping event of an Alliance military intelligence officer and split our group into two- Ben left with his men and I was stuck with the psychopath on my ship with a hostage who was eight months pregnant.

After the Alliance negotiated the release of the hostage, the specialist that was hired has slowly begun to lose it.
We've lost so much because of this- A vast majority of our funding is gone and we're struggling to stay afloat. This morning, after airing my grievances with our chief business manager, the specialist engaged the self-destruct sequence on our ship and left after killing five of my men.

I need help finding him before he causes any further damage.

Twenty thousand-

Fourty thousand.

Height is 5'9.
Weight is 145.
Brown eyes. Black hair.
Distinguishing features are extremely disfigured face.
Wanted for murder and wanton destruction of personal property.
May have been a former member of Cerberus.
[Here] is a list of his equipment ID tags for tracking, he was last heading towards Omega.

Tiredly: Do you expect people here to help you?

Bemused: I cannot tell if this is poetic justice, irony, or par for the course around here.

Mock-didactically: Always be careful with whom you're hiring. Background checks are essential.

Five hundred thousand.

The insurance has gotten back from the ship.

Five hundred thousand.

Well of course, that location is convenient. If we ever run into the man we'll be sure to put him in temporary holding and inform you though I

We'll look into this immediately.

Why would you even have one of those?

Genuine interest, with hints of mockery: What secrets or personal information does he have with him that are so valuable to you?

Idly suspicious: Because you sound almost... desperate.

Self-Destruct sequence in case of capture.

He is a former Cerberus agent. He has a head full of secrets, and the fact he destroyed my boat is partially the reason the price is so high. I want him to answer for all of this. I want him to answer for ruining my life and the life of the hostage he took and the people he's killed while wearing my organization's banner.

The price I pay is for you to bring him to us so that we may render our own judgement by passing him along to the Systems Alliance.

Well, this certainly doesn't seem out of the ordinary at all. I mean, wouldn't you want to start the bidding war a little lower if you want someone off the table?

That's some serious money. I might actually apply...

But wait, weren't you that human supremacist group? The new Terra Firma?

C-Sec mail [here], personal [here], FEMES [here]. Is that all? Can I go?

No.

I'm not currently a member of Terra Firma.

The price is five hundred thousand for a live capture.

Five hundred thousand alive huh?

And how much if he forces the issue and he gets a hole in his head?

Shitty job then

If you have a problem with the offer, don't take it. I'll pay a professional who does.

I'm not. Not even in the mood for shitty freelance work this month.

That's interesting. Admittedly he's some kind of Ex-Cerberus agent so what's to stop him from biting the cyanide bullet, or whatever other shit those things come standard with?

Now I'm not actually interested, I'm just curious as to all of the details you aren't giving.

'currently'

Ten million, five upfront, and I'll subcontract someone else to do it for thirty thousand. Heh.

TheDoctorIsIn Nulisan Praesid, ex-Armiger Legionnaire, at your service. I run FEMES.
Selenus, if someone's offering a price-tag that high, they are GOING to stiff you on the payment.

Just a pro-tip.

Also, if you're seriously planning on doing this, it's without the company's support and I still expect you to show up for your shift. It'll be on your time and you're not using company assets.

No, not even anything requisitioned that you haven't gotten around to returning. Zero connection.

Don't forget, you're still paying us back for all the clinic terminals you fucked up with Terrorsoft (not to mention my initial investment in bringing you onboard). I'm not letting you waste our gear and resources chasing a bounty when the employer's bound to screw you over. If you feel like following up on this blatantly-false job offer, by all means, feel free do so, but you're definitely on your own with it.

Call FEMES today! We cut your legs off so you don't have to! Sign up today and we'll give you High-Threat Response coverage at half-price!

Alright alright I won't go. Guess you miss me too much at HQ to watch me leave, hmm? Heheh.

I have no idea what you mean about the requisitions. I always return items I've... filled in the forms for. Everything else follows the old human adage of 'those who find objects keep them, those who lose objects cry'.

And wow, you remembered my name. I'm almost honoured.
