The Calypso was primarily a human bar-it was their music-that was being played, but there was a good selection of Asari and Turians mixed in the crowd. The music was loud, but not obnoxiously so, and people drifted back and forth between the tables and the dance floor.
The atmosphere was much too flirtatious for Salarians to have much interest. Kayana had indeed promised not to provoke Nex-in fact, when she saw him come in, she pointed him out to Trex and slipped onto the dance floor with her men. |

Sitting in one of the back booths in the bar was Paul Duffy, a man who looked like he'd had a long day. Leaning back into his cushioned seat, the man twisted the cap off of his beer and took a drink, before leaning forward once more to get a good look at the email projected on the table in front of him. He briefly scratched at his nose and set his beer down. |

Hadas and Itzen had two radical different ideas what dancing entailed, Hadas liked keep close to Kay, not necessarily pressed against, but never out of arms length. He wasn't the best dancer on the floor, but his heart was in it and he tried to mimic the appropriate moves.
Itzen on the other hand was all energy and no care in the word about style, he was behind Kay, then behind Hadas, than in the middle of them, sometimes on the other side of the dance floor, sometimes grinding. Hadas looked at Trex and Nex before leaning in, “I... couldn't tell you while Trex was near, it's probably nothing but, but I think you should know. He wasn't at Denakot, he wasn't even on Tayseri. I know the address too,” he looked back at the two turians, as if he wanted to be sure they were unable to hear him talk. “It's one of those hotels where you can rent the room by the hour.” He looked at his wife's reaction. Meanwhile at the other side of the club Nex stood smiling, handing over a drink to Trex. “Ah this brings back memories. I still think the music is too loud, anyway sorry it took a bit to get here.” |

Poor Trex. For all she's seen more combat than the three drell put together, she's still woefully innocent in a lot of other matters. In her mind, Nex was hanging out in the range, sick, bored, or sick and bored, before she called. He doesn't look sick now, but Vindi's a prime example of how not all illness is physical. Still, his mood seems pretty good too.
"Sorry," Trex said, and she really does sound sorry. "We can go to Aphin's Place on turian folk music night if you like? But I kinda had to think of Kay and her...and Hadas and Itzen, and plus Spiza won't let me drink in his place." She grins. "I had the bartender ask me how I was liking my first leave after boot. If you can imagine that." She really does look older. Part of it is the clothes - that pseudo-uniform chic that's so popular among Turians - part of it is the aging effect of war. "Just try to have fun, I'll make it worth your while." She gives him a flirty wink, imitating what she saw in a movie once. This looks cool, right? She has no idea what "make it worth your while" might actually imply. |

Kay rolled her eyes, then frowned, trying to hide that first reaction. "Sorry."
"This guy just can't seem to pull it together. Like at allllll..." She sighed, touching her head to his shoulder and then kissing his cheek. "Listen, I've gone off on him so many times, that she pre-emptively asked me to stuff it. She does not want to hear it from us." "Just make sure she doesn't go off with him without a condom?" |

Hadas nodded, personally he would have gone for a confrontation of sorts but he Kay's knew both turians better.
“I'll ask Itzen for a turian condom, slip it in his pockets.” He said leaning in, “don't be sorry, if the guy's cheating on his girlfriend he deserves all the eye-rolling he gets.” Nex meanwhile chuckled, “well soon ya be old enough to just flash ya ID around and they won't be able to refuse ya credits.” He looked more relaxed, and he was in more ways than one. He wiggled his mandibles, 'make it worth your while' sounded interesting but considering their past he doubted anything would come from it. “Don't tease me with something we both know you don't want to do.” The words were harsher than he expected, but he was, after a second actually happy he had said them, no need to tease or play silly mind games. |

Trex's jaw dropped. She hadn't expected him to be like that.
Truth was, she was awfully curious about...that sort of thing. She just kind of didn't think she wanted to do it with someone who she knew was going to dump her. And given that she no longer had any expectations of Nex marrying her...given that the more she thought about it, the less ready she felt to be married. The way he said that, though, made her feel more than ever like a child. Kayana was older than she was, and had started some kind of relationship that Trex barely understood, though Kay seemed comfortable in it. Now Nex was making her feel less like she was his date, and more like she was a kid sister he was humouring by letting her hang around with him. Sure, maybe she wouldn't have slept with him, but he used to like making out with her, didn't he? Trex puts her hands on her hips in a huff. "Maybe I did want to kiss you until like two seconds ago." |

"I'm not sure if they're actually 'going out' and I don't want her to encourage her. Both she and her sister, this total weakness for unresponsive guys with Issues." She glanced over at the turians.
"Oh Arashu, that's some bad posture. ...I haven't even said anything yet." She broke away from them, walking over and taking a sip from the drink she'd left on the table (under Trex's supervision, of course). "Hey, how's it going?" She was trying to sound upbeat. "You know Hadas, this is Itzen, we're picking up the tab tonight so get whatever you like." |

Nex crossed his arms, “Well making out is fun and all, but I'm sorry Trex, ya made it clear it's not going any further, so I'm not playing anymore.” He didn't want to hurt her, the most he wanted was to hug, but it was best he just get it over, that was what he decided after... 'the fling,' it seemed so much easier and clearer too, while he lay on the bed one arm behind his bed while watching the woman put on her clothes, spirits he didn't even know her name, just that she was celebrated her first leave after boot and she had been slumming. Now he wasn't sure, still he persisted, even as he saw the drell come closer.
“Listen Trex, I wanne still be friends, but we shouldn't do stuff that's make things... muddy. If ya don't wanne do stuff, well okay we do't do stuff, but this constant teasing, there's only so many cold showers a man can take. Maybe ya understand when ya're more mature and have different priorities. But as long as we can only be friends we should be act like it, no matter how much we enjoy making out. Makes things simpler for everyone.” He looks back at the drell, “I don't wanne end-up like them all complicated and stuff. I need simplicity and stability, I wanne be fairly sure I know what I can expect from the person in front of me.” After a second of pause he added a quiet “sorry.” The drell posse arrived en force, with Kay at the front. “Hi,” Nex greeted all three drell before looking back at Trex, “I've just explained to Trex that maybe you're right about things.” |

All that, and then he talks about her to her friends like she wasn't even there. It makes her even madder, despite the fact she knows she couldn't tell them herself, because her throat is clogged up and she's trying very hard not to cry. Perhaps some part of her had hoped that by coming back to the Citadel, he was working his way around to telling her that he'd settled things on Solregit and he wanted to be with her? Yes, she'd been hoping for that, despite the fact that most of her knew better.
Why couldn't he just like her? Why couldn't he understand that she was younger than him and maybe not ready to... ...Damn it! After spending most of her life trying to act older, to be a grown up, now Trex wants nothing more than to curl into a ball and cry and have someone look after her. She just wants to scream, I'm only fourteen. ...She never really missed her childhood until this moment. All of a sudden, she wants it back. More than anything. She wants her life back, to do over. But she's not going to get it, so she folds her hands over her chest and croaks, "Fine." She takes the drink and tosses back a big gulp, hoping to wash the lump from her throat. Spirits. She wishes she was off the Citadel right now. Whether to boot or the Terminus, she doesn't care, just anywhere but here. Her eyes scan the dance floor, just to give her something to look at other than Nex. And her instincts twitch, telling her something's not right here. |

Poor Trex. Kayana narrowed her eyes and flicked her eyelids in an extremely drell expression of contempt. "Well, I always thought the problem was with you. Glad we're in agreement."
"C'mon Trex, dancefloor." She reached out to take Trex's hand. |

Even day ago Nex would probably challenged Kay to another fight, or maybe even attacked, but he that she was right in a way, he was, in his current state no good for Trex, and what they had wasn't good either. So he just slumped in his seat and took his own glass. Not even mumbling, he had to hope that in the long term things would be better for the both himself and Trex.
Both Hadas and Itzen sat as well, unsure if they should try and talk to Nex or not, for the moment they just sat there in silence.

So, you two have your conversation on the dancefloor, I'll begin posting back when the two of them get back on the table or something because I'm not going to RP with myself here. :P

Trex tries to ignore the crawly feeling on the back of her neck as she allows Trex to haul her to the dance floor.
"Boys suck," she mutters, realizing Kay now has not one but two boys of her own. Dammit, where's the justice? Why can't Trex have just one?? Maybe she wouldn't care if she had one she knew would stay with her no matter what Nex did. If she had that, though, she wouldn't need Nex, would she? But Kay...Itzen... Trex shakes her head. Her plates start crawling again. Whatever her instinct is, it's not going away. "Kay," she whispers, her voice suddenly low and urgent, "do you feel that? Something's wrong here." |

Something wrong has just come up behind Itzen, Hadas and Nex.
"Hello," Vindi says pleasantly to Nex, and then glances at Itzen. She thinks she's seen this one before. "Oh! I know you, you're Raelon's friend, right?" Vindi is barely recognizable wearing absolutely nothing in her usual fashion collection -- the one that belongs on the cover of Radical Militia Montly. She's wearing a pink glittery velour jacket with an oversized, crystal-encrusted zipper, a tight baby blue t-shirt under it, and a skirt. Not short, but still kind of slinky. ...That's glitter over her facial tattoos, too. |

""Boys are fun. You just have to go though a few duds first." She spun around, enjoying the sound and feel of the music.
"And here's plenty to pick from. There's even a new turian boy posting on CDN." Kayana should never, ever play matchmaker. She looked around, at the barkeep and the doors and up at the smoke detectors. "I don't feel it, but you're the sniper." Then she glanced back towards the boys and made a *tchhhh* sound with her throat bones. |

“Hey, Chief.” Nex said, in a relaxed draw, before suddenly realizing who exactly he was talking too, causing him to stand in attention. “Sorry ma'am, wasn't expecting you.” At that moment it dawned on him that Vindi wasn't dressed like usual. His eyes grew wide, “you're glittering...”
Hadas stifled a laugh, Itzen didn't, the blue drell chuckling all 15 seconds until Raelon's name was mentioned. Did she know the true nature of their relationship and use friend as euphemism or did she really think he was a friend. Best play along for now. Hadas meanwhile was wondering what caused Itzen to fidget like that. “I'm more of an acquaintance really, I'm called Itzen, how is Raelon doing?” He looked to his side at Hadas. “Oh and that's Hadas, Kay's husband and a priest of the old ways.” Hadas stood up and dipped his head slightly, “pleasure to meet you Chieftain, please excuse my state of undress, if I had been aware or allowed I would have worn something more appropriate.” he shot a glare at Itzen. “Don't mind him, he doesn't like dressing casual.” “I look like I belong on a beach.” |

Vindi, it turns out, is utterly oblivious to the nature of Itzen and Raelon's encounter. "Raelon's doing well. He's been using a cane instead of his walker lately, and he's stepping out with his boyfriend a lot...maybe romance is in the air at Sniper's Touch?" She's apparently utterly oblivious to any of the drama between Nex and Trex, too. "Hadas, don't feel bad, I believe the purpose of these clubs is to not wear enough clothing. Even without the jacket I'm the most overdressed turian woman here." She fidgets,a bit uncomfortable, because even showing her knees is being revealing by her usual standards. She knows for a fact Nex has never seen her in shorts or a skirt this short.
She just doesn't feel good in not enough clothes. So it's okay that Arx asked her to keep the jacket on to hide her prison tattoos. Right? "Itzen, hopefully you and Raelon and the other memebers of the Ex Omega club can convince Trex that Omega is not a good place to move once she comes of age." Vindi thinks that growing up on Omega is what brought Raelon and Itzen together and cemented their "friendship." Uh-oh. Vindi also seems oblivious to the fact that Trex is, even now, on the dance floor with Kayana. "It's nice to see you making friends, Nex. The Citadel is a big shock after Solregit." |

And in the further adventures of the Captains Oblivious, Trex completely misses Vindi talking to the boys. Her gaze is fixed on the bar, where a cute if somewhat gangly and boyish looking turian man is leaving the bar with two drinks.
"You see him, Kay?" she hisses. "That's Arx, Vindi's stupid boyfriend. Do you have your camera? I hope he's here with some other woman and we can get pictures." That would serve him right. Oh, please, let him be fooling around and not just out with the boys. The idea of Vindi in a place like this never crosses her mind. |
