Pretty sure this isn't what they meant when they declared that Cerberus was an idea. Anyways, I don't have much reason to be here. I just have some time to kill, and I've been curious about how much of a punchline my old employers are now (going by this site, it's a pretty bad one). I'm Songbird. You're enthralled, I'm sure. I'm an ex-Cerberus asset, which is exactly what it sounds like - a terrible conversation starter.

You know, saying something "isn't a good conversation starter" isn't too much better.

Soooooooooo. Cerberus, huh.

Man, where do you ex-Cerberus types keep popping up from!? Is there some rock you were hiding under, insect-like, until someone kicked it over?

At least you sound saner than some of the other ex-Cerbie idiots here. For now, anyways.

About the time the fantasy pildavi league at Apricity started calling themselves 'Cerberus' it became clear that this was going to be a 'let's run this shit into the ground' kind of joke.

So indulge my morbid curiosity in turn, who are you a current asset for?

Songbird
That rock was called Noveria, and the boot was the Alliance Wartime Committee for Terrorism. Fun stuff.

And asset is a pretty strong word for my job right now. I work at a bank in the violet district in Nos Varda lately. Not exactly a ton of takers when your work references include self-confessed terrorists. I'm hardly reenacting the last hour of Dirk Black 4 over here.

Well, I guess it's morally fulfilling?

Hey, it's steady credits and it's not terrorism. Sorry if that was intrusively unglamorous, I just wondered because you seemed to be satisfied with defining yourself by who you used to be.

I mean, it's significant, but I wouldn't call myself "an ex-seeing quarian".

So what did you do?

On the Move.

Okay, I'll be honest. No offence, but this feels more like I'm talking to my therapist than anything else. I'm not going to say I really miss the whole terrorist angle with my life, because I don't. If I really bought into the whole image that Cerberus liked to build itself around, I'd have spent those months in the war putting aliens on, I dunno, lists rather than in a dim cell somewhere on some Alliance space station.

As for what I did? I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to really say. I could really do without more calls from my babysitters reintegration officers.

Huh. Well, er, good luck working honestly. Hopefully your new job doesn't end up being a front for the Earth Isolationist Movement.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure an "Earth Isolationist Movement" sounds more like something that the secessionists would prefer.

(for full disclosure and for future reference this bank does not have anything to do with movement of any kind)

Always a good standard to hold your current life to, in my opinion.

Are you sure it's appropriate to enslave people?

You are literally less qualified to chastise anyone over what's appropriate than the myriad of mercenaries and ex-terrorists that browse here.

Whatever, welcome. I guess.

Yeah, sorry, I come off like that a lot. Good luck; hope reintegration continues to go well.

Mr. Slaver, please desist with the extranet white knight thing immediately. Thank you.

Under proper conditions yes I do. But this is not the subject here, and I don't wish to derail this thread more than I did.

It really does come off as white knighting ::/ In my defense I didn't say that because I see you as a poor creature in need of extranet defense, I was just a bit taken aback by Silel's remark.
I see how it can be demeaning to you, it wasn't the intention and I apologize for that.
For future reference however my family name is actually Ranak, slaver is my profession. Bintar or FourEyes work.

hey and welcome, Songbird

I for one won't digg up old dirt and only judge on what you do and say today.
Glad you escaped the terminal indoc and all that shit.

and isn't that funny... Mr FourEyed Slaver taking it on for Ana.

what the above poster said about slavery.

plus, Ana sure does not need any white knight. I'd keep away from that.

At the rate your types keep popping up I'm starting to wonder if Cerberus was actually taken down at all...

Pretty sure the rate of ex-Cerberus assets (is it really a Thing?) would suggest the opposite.

You're not very bright, are you?

Anyways, to everyone else, thanks.
