Query: What is the worst physical trauma you have ever been through? Were you properly treated, and if so, did it remove all evidence of the injury? If not, how do you feel today?

Given the propensity towards sever and/or military-related injury on these forums, it seemed a fitting question to ask.

This has been a query courtesy of Revenant Corp. All responses are public and subject to adhering laws.

I, er, broke my foot once. This guy at the office, Rajiv, he dropped a globe of Palaven on it.

Seriously, it hurt.

Phraag is not pronounced "frog". It's not funny. I'm serious.

Being shot in both legs. One hairline cracked femur on the left, one basically bust tibia on the right. Probably would have gone into total shock if it hadn't been for the hardsuit's auto-medigel system. Re-constructive surgery at least fixed their instabilities, though they still twinge sometimes.

VikSajee I'm still free
Beaten horribly by a crazy bitch and in need of intense amounts of immuno-boosters, anti-biotics and several redundant transfussions to replace my blood loss. Also a piece of mask got stuck under my eye and hurt like a bitch. Broke my femur from it and I was limping for pretty much the rest of the week. So I was confined to my captain's chair for the duration, nursing a cracked rib or two as well as a sprained wrist. Combined with the fever, the constant hacking of phlegm, the sniffles, a few stomach aches it's amazing I was able to even stay in the captain's chair after that.

On the plus side, good excuse to get suit upgrades considering how trashed that one was. And as bad as it was, still able to command the ship within a week of that. And on the day I'm finally feeling better... fleet says we're off to save Earth.

How do you humans say it? No rest for the weary.

The worst involuntary physical experience? I was involved in the Alliance's anti-piracy program in the Verge back in the '60's and '70's. About fifteen years ago, my team was cleaning out a slaver base on a nameless asteroid a few parsecs from Sidon. Their crew was made mostly of goros and turians, so they had rigged the ventilation system to constantly spew out human-specific nerve gas. At some point in the firefight, my suit's environmental system failed, and I had a very minor exposure to the neurtoxin. It didn't kill me (obviously), but I ended up in the hospital for months, and was unable to return to active service for over a year. Systemic muscle spasms don't feel particularly good, either.

Worst voluntary physical experience was almost certainly my most recent batch of identity transference surgery. Unless you really need to become someone else, I strongly recommend using [Redacted] instead.

I was inside a Mako IFV when a ravager blew it up. I lost my left arm and shrapnel shattered my ribs, pierced one lung and cut my spine. If it wasn't for the crazy bastards in Charlie Company who pulled me out and the crazier civilian doctors who were in the area, I'd be well and truly dead. I've got cybernetics now, but there's still physical reminders-I'll never be as mobile as I was. Still, the care I'm recieving is still a lot better than a century ago; least I can walk.

Me eyes took a piece of shrapnel during the siege. Not a pleasant experience if you can imagine. It is of course, the main reason why my optics are now comprised of cybernetics. And let me tell you, they take a hell of a lot of time to get used to.

When I was working with Urdnot on Tuchanka, my unit was ambushed and I was captured. The krogan have amazing ways of causing intolerable discomfort even with our ability to stop feeling pain entirely. In the ensuing torturing, I lost both limbs on one side of my body, and I had to foot the bill to get my leg cloned. The arm I couldn't afford, hence the prosthetic, which still works very well I might add.

Capice Shepard Lives!
I got trapped underneath a collapsing building. Multiple fractures in the one crushed leg, broken ribs, a terrible concussion.

Waiting the three days for them to dig me out makes the top 5 lousy psychological experiences of my life. I shot myself full of medigel, antibiotics and painkillers, but by the time they pulled out, I was being poisoned by the muscle breakdown.

Lucky for me, they didn't amputate. I think because when they did a bone scan it was pretty evident how old I was. An insane amount of surgery later, I have a lot of bone and muscle weaves in my lower body (it wouldn't work if one leg was much stronger, so they ended up augmenting both sides).

I'm pretty mobile and with therapy I'm getting back to where I used to be, but I wake up stiff and when I get tired I start limping. It's annoying, but it was the Reaper War. It's not like I got hurt doing something stupid.

Well that explains that.

Anyway for my experience, was involved in an explosive industrial accident... bits went missing, and for those wondering I have not yet switched to a cybernetic one.

Pharos
I took a direct hit from a seeker grenade on Torfan, it blew off my right arm at the shoulder, my left at the elbow, my right leg from mid-thigh, my left leg from mid-shin, my jaw, most of my face and also left me blind and with massive trauma to most of my organs.
Frankly I'm surprised I survived and that my squad bothered to scrape up what was left of me and drag it back to the evac point.

Remember Torfan
