Hey all of you!

Has it really been a full year now? I have been searching quite a few times since then but only now i discovered that this ExNet site is still - or again around! I am curious who of the old "crew" is still around. How have you been?

I was sticking to Cyone for a little longer, all the demilitarzation of the volunteers didn't go as quickly as promised at first and then there were all those travel restrictions....

But I got lucky and could be back at my home on Nevos again after three months: This is odd, coming from a hot war zone - a lot of the troops may only know Cyone as the "Firebase Reactor".... and fire there was! - anyway, coming back to Nevos as a world mostly untouched by the war. Only the main spaceport was destroyed.

when we approched the make-shift new field I could see the large letters that used to greet the arriving tourists with our solgan

"Nevos: Life's a Beach!"

well, someone had taken good aim with two rounds, now it read

"Nevos: Life's a B**ch!"... it was funny to see how exactly that reaper had hit the EA.

My house was bit dusty but nothing else. But when I checked in on the neighbors and friends, it wasn't at all funny.
The next house belonges to an Elcor-Asari couple with two nice kiddies.

He is an elcor diplomat on Nevos but his wife went Commando and did not return. Now the poor man is left with his two teenagers. But elcor are so tough to read, even if you know them. He was holding up well from all i could tell.
So many friends dead, gone, missing, whatever...

anyway.... I took on a job as a part time engineer with the space port reconstriction comitee, that gave me some purpose.

And: I got time to make the FuHa seaworthy again after a year of drydocks. Some paint, some new wiring I should have done long ago. I took Rana and Ulish on as a "crew", the two neighbors kids. My Elcor friend was so relieved to see them doing something useful finally. Rana is in the middle of her Punk phase, she dyed her scalp green and black and even got one Lekku totally pierced.... well, we all went through that I guess.

So, here I am now, Moonshine cruising, two tired teenagers already asleep in the cabin and I browse the extranet to find you guys again.
Is the universe coming together finally?

But what really bugs me.... is MySail enterprises out of bussiness? I can't find their site anymore but I'd like to have an update for my sailing VI (got version 6.09.09 which has a few issues).

I remember you too. I still don't endorse your area of business though.

But a set of rowing slaves sounds tempting in case that stupid MySail VI gets it all backwards again and I have to manually enter wind directions again, read out from the exact same instrument that feeds the stupid VI.

I'm just as surprised to rediscover this site as you are and that it's still functioning properly.

anyway, I haven't done too much other than some volunteer work. Other than that my life feels like business as usual.

Hello Lolly-pop, I remember that nick from the old board.

actualy, I was just asking myself what happened to that gardener_girl from the Citiadel who wanted some advice ond hand guns just before all on teh Citadel and elsewhere went down the drain.

Did the new gun help her make it through?

anyway, for me it is back to reconstruction work tomorrow after three days on the sea.

Hey! I think I remember you! Glad to hear that everything is going somewhat okay for you!

Just wanted to ask... since you are on Nevos, maybe you could help me out with something?

See, sometime ago, I inherited this lovely house located next to lake Ylica.
It's was built with traditional paleo-modern turian architecture.

And should look something like this... Or used to look like.

Its in a relatively remote area in the inlands so I suppose it wasnt touched by the reapers most likely...
But I just wanted to make sure so uh... Do you happen to know by any chance if the house still standing? I...
want to make some use use of it you see :)

Thank you :D

Hey, i remember your face!

Oh wow, what a great place! Ylica was not in the news for anything so assume everything is safe but I can check it out for you.
It's a bit of a ride for me but I can get to it later this week.

Maybe you could show me around when you are down here. That looks like a really cool place in these mountains. Lake Ylica is too cold for my taste though.

No kidding? I remember that sign - I lived on Nevos for fifteen years (local) way back, when I was younger, shared an apartment down on the Irachai and caught the intercity rapid-rail in to the port for work. They were putting the sign up then, going past every morning was like seeing a series of time-delay snapshots of it, a little bit more complete every day. Well, if it had to be damaged, nice to know the galaxy had a sense of humour about it.

I remember you posting from Cyone, back before - good to see you again. FuHa, huh? What model is she - I'm guessing something a bit more fancy than the little twin-hull sprinters back home, to host a VI. No joy on MySail unfortunately, I remember they used to have an outlet here in Nos Astra catering to the Gemstone Lakes yacht owners, but from what I can tell they're independent now, so the parent company either sold them off, or folded completely. They're trading as Horizon Sail, you'll be able to find them on the Nos Astra extranet directory - if they are a former MySail outlet they may have ex-MySail VIs or patches. Good fortune with that, and the cruising, in any case. :)

Daia T'Nara! how cool is that? :D

I was reading your book not too long ago. You lived on Nevos? And for such a long time even, now that is interesting. When they put the sign up... that is unfortunately a bit before I got here.
Where did you work, maybe I know the place myself, I have been around like everywhere here.

Oh, humor you call that, eh? It was a hassle to fix it because a group of activists demanded declaring it a republican treasure monument as it was, but by now it is back in shape again. I was personally involved in fixing the lighting for it.
We are getting there. You might not think that but the war even improved a whole new industry, Nevos became the largest food producer in the cluster, we had massive deliveries going out to Dekuuna and Cyone for example. A lot of people are now investing into holiday-on-a-farm projects for families in the inland regions.

The new slogan could be: Nevos: Life's a barn! or something - kidding... the kids love it I think.

yeah, thanks for the tip with MySail! D/Ling from their new label as I type. Are you into boats?
I have an Octurius 457.

there she is. No single hander but she was a bargain after a Volus had her custom made but discovered he got seasick before taking her over, so I got her 90% done and finished a few things myself. I love her.
Unfortunately she is a bit underpopulated lately... we Nevosians never where that many but now we are even fewer.
The two kids where a nice distraction! Keeping two teens at bay is not easy, even compared to reapers but I let them do the deck jobs, kept their hands bussy most of the time:)

Damn. There it is again. No matter what I take on, I end up missing Freh'ya. One of many who didn't come home but... I do know she's still out there. Asari know this. We do, don't we?

You'd really do that? Thank you a ton! 3:D

I'll make sure I'll give you the grand tour whenever I find the opportunity to hit Nevos!

Again, thanks a million!

Also... that's a nice waveride you got there

@Telos: no prob and looking forward to it.

I actually found some things to do over in Port Sundis so it's basically on the way.

and thanks for the compliment. I know you turians are not that sea ready usually... I'd offer a tour myself in return otherwise.

I got around a lot when I was travelling - you know how it is, typical Maiden, flitting about here and there like the whole galaxy's a playground. :) Apart from sightseeing though I tended to settle for a decade or so wherever I found I enjoyed myself, long enough to get a real feel for the place, understand what makes it special, not just get the superficial experience you'd get from a tourist trip.

yeah, thanks for the tip with MySail! D/Ling from their new label as I type. Are you into boats?

Wow, that's a lovely craft. I've been aboard a few Octurius cruisers now and then on the lakes here, or the Jade Sea (usually at the behest of some executive throwing a party for something or other) - never a 457, so far as I can recall, but enough to see they're serious about making fine boats.

I'm not really much of a sailer myself - dabbled for fun with various kinds, but usually just little one-handers, splashing about close to shore, not long trips. The biggest trip I ever took (and even this is an order of magnitude above anything else) was as part of an amateur crew on a Luksaan Wave Delta, retracing the course of the Tour Epira a couple of hundred years ago. Out of season of course, and it took us about four times as long as the racers did that year, but it was a great experience - we were all strangers to begin with, and it really brought us together, learning to handle the boat together, seeing all the sights along the way. (We did have an experienced skipper to look after us, of course, we weren't just making it up as we went along.)

My real passion is flying, but my ornithopter's back home - Thessia, I mean - so, yeah, I've taken to the lakes here now and then. Not lately, but you know how it is, you never forget how. Tell you what, if you ever find yourself in Nos Astra with an afternoon to spare, look me up and we'll take a sabercat out, what do you say?

Damn. There it is again. No matter what I take on, I end up missing Freh'ya. One of many who didn't come home but... I do know she's still out there. Asari know this. We do, don't we?
I've always believed so. During the war, after Thessia fell, I got word that the facility where my mother worked had been attacked, and... well, it looked bad. I can't deny I feared, but I held on, and in my heart I never stopped hoping. I know there are theories about synergistic synchronicity and all that, and we've always been close, shared memories and the like, but it was nothing so arcane, I just, I felt she was there, somewhere, wanting to reassure me. And she was. I know it must be difficult, with so many lost, but so long as you have that feeling, hold onto it - there are so many worlds and settlements still being accounted for, so much of the old communications and travel infrastructure still being rebuilt. I mean, there are whole organisations springing up just to locate missing people, and they're barely scratching the surface... it's far too soon to despair, when there's still hope.

Hello, Blitz! nice to be back.

@Telos:
I have been at your place yesterday. It is all in best order, no damage or anything. Only some litter you may want to take care off, a lot of leaflets and papers stuffed under your door and in your mailbox, most likely coming from refugee help organizations.
And you have a few new neighbors, I talked with the town rep. She says the area behind Talon hills is now farmland and they grow fixlan there. An asari/human family with kids. I have seen the place from the skycar, should not bother you too much, you can't even see it with the hills between, just since your ground borders theirs, this is the news....

See you on Nevos!

@Daia
You allways sound so thoughtful. Thanks for the reassurence and I am happy to hear your family is well. Mine is too, my mother was on a ship when the attack hapened and they stayed hidden the entire war. I have a sister on a remote colony that is also safe. I had not much contact for along time, so I refreshed it a bit.

Anyway, I have found new inforamtion. I have proof that Freh'ya survived the war! I went to check some military databases but I still do not know why she has vanished or where exactly she is now. But i have an idea.
Daia, I know you are terribly bussy but I may take on your invitation - and sincerely hope you didn't just say it to be polite! I am a bit desperate with this and could need some help. It's been a loooong time since I have been on Illium and I look forward to it:)

you have a PM incoming!

@Taleeze

New neighbors? Really? Oh that's sweet! I'm glad to hear the place is standing!
Hmm... Maybe them and us can gather up for a 'BBQ' thing once im there? 3:D
You could bring the FuHa to Ylica if the conditions are suitable too!

Again thanks for checking the place out! Really appreciate it!

BBQ sounds like massive fun!
okidoke, deal.

I have a bit of a bussines on Illium. I'll drop you a note when I am back.

But i must disappoint you about the FuHa. She can do a bit of ground effect but not over land, I can't bring her lakeside unfortunately. At one point I had the vision of installing a complete Ezo antigrav drive but canned it in the end. It's a boat and should stay that, proud and all.
