i'm sitting here watching my sister and my hearth-father (not related to my sister, so it should be okay that he is in love with her). but it's not okay. those two can't stop being what they are. and that's tearing them apart. it doesn't even matter that they love each other.

you tell me i have a chance that a lot of kids on omega don't get and i believe you. raelon won't shut up about how happy he is to be off omega and have all this opportunity. but that's easy for him to say. he's happy anywhere he can be at a computer.

you see my problem is

and there's not a lot of places on the citadel for me to be what i am

and i'm not sure i can change, because if i look at vindi and dad's examples, it looks like its not possible. no matter how hard you wish it was.

Also, I am totally telling dad on you in case you're one of the things he doesn't want me to be asking him about.

Just touched down on Sur'Kesh - I wonder if this was what Rio was like when the Reapers landed. Yikes. Is it possible to have flashbacks of something you've only heard about?

Anyway - Have you given the boy the Kruger-Ayata test? I don't know how common it is now, but it's a less-invasive procedure that can detect biotics or any untoward tumors a lot earlier in a baby.

I keep hearing conflicting reports and theories as to if biotics are hereditary in humans or not. Of course, in the wake of the Reapers, I imagine a lot of variables can come into play to explain that.

Sorry, talking like a doctor again. Just wanted to say hi before I get my first rest in 29 hours after setting up the Mobile Clinic. I hope they don't have me coordinating all the time - I'd do more good the more time I spent with patients.

Kruger-Ayata test isn't until he's about three or four months old. He was given a preliminary checkup at birth and he seems to be healthy, if a little underweight. He's bigger now, however. I know things are rough in Sur'Kesh, but know that you're doing good work, for both the affected and humanity as a whole.

Consider it. Yes, what you are now will never leave you, and your past can come back to hurt you, but these are small things compared to what you could find a talent or a love for, what you could do for the galaxy, for your clan. I imagine even you, at some point in your life, wanted to be something other than a sniper, even if it was something you thought you could never be.

The choice to be something different is yours, and yours entirely, and the potential to take advantage of an opportunity is limitless. The galaxy is so much bigger than the Citadel, and I do hope you realise that, at least. Change is what you make it, and people can change when they truly wish to. Your father, for example, is one of them, though that is probably not a story you have yet been told. A part of me believes he knows of nothing else, and that is why he fights with himself the way he does. I know less of Vindi, but I imagine the motivation is similar. These were lives that might not have had the choices you do now, or lives that made the wrong choices along the way. Vindi and Valrix are but two people, in a sea of many, who are trying to leave their pasts behind them, in some way or another, and though you may not see it now, they are succeeding.

Take some time, and think on it. This should not be choice you make today, or even next week, but I do think it is worth mentioning that for all your sister and your father are who they are, they are still trying to push you down another path, away from a life similar to theirs.

And no, I am not his girlfriend, though I am not sure where I stand in the 'things he does not want you to ask about.'
