Congratulations, you're treating an abused 13 year old girl the exact same as a slaving drug dealer! Kayana rolled her eyes and held up a hand. This was a conversation for Vindi, not Trex. "That's fine.".

It was not.

"If there is like, the slightest bit of trouble, you get out of here and you call me, okay? I'll come. But, you were saying, romantic drama..."

Capice
Gee, why did the conversation have to go this grim and dark all of a sudden. It's really crippling Juhani's mood.

"The odds of me being put to fight or contain Solregitian uprisings is miniscule, considering the planet is still out of touch, and if I ever ended up there garrisoning, I'd miss on purpose and pray you kill me quick instead of agonizing shot in the gut." Juhani gulped his glass empty in one go, eliciting a deep cough. "That or just out right resigning and going back to living under Finnish identity and hoping authorities won't grab Aira in retaliation."

"On second thought, I think I'll see this one through." Marcus said, suddenly remembering where he was. "Void knows, any party involving at least 3 members of CDN has more tension in it than a figure skating competition on thin ice. Maybe the opportunity to fire off a few shots would be a boon." With that, he followed the younger turian to the designated lanes and closed them off from the others with a sign saying

LIVE FIRE TEST IN PROGRESS! NDA SIGNING REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION! NO FEES APPLIED! SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS!

as a scrolling marquis over the doors, then beside each one was placed a haptic interface pad with a projection of the NDA regarding the weapons being tested inside. Once he was finished setting up the entrances, he dragged his case over to the center lane and popped it open. It split in half evenly and folded open like a brief case, with each half bearing a markedly different-looking set of weapons from the other. One side's weapons looked all dark and sleek and futuristic, whereas the other had a more polished, classic feel. With a grimace, Marcus activated a sliding panel that closed off the latter half in its own case. He hadn't even released them from field testing yet, and some jackass serial killer had already devastated sale potential with a whole line.

The other case, at least, still had one of everything from a sniper rifle down for every species, and a heavy weapon that could be modded on the spot for humanoid, krogan, or elcor wielders. Of course, all these would be impossible to even pretend to manage fitting into a reasonable-sized case, were it not for the option of collapsing all of them to a third of their original size or smaller. They had such lovely names too:

Executioner Heavy Pistol
Terminator Shotgun
Eviscerator SMG
Devastator Assault Rifle
Widowmaker Sniper Rifle
Annihilator Autocannon (available in Portable, Vehicle-Mount, and Fortress-Mount modes)

"If you have any free time, feel free to take your pick." Marcus said as he plucked out an Eviscerator submachine gun and activated the lane he was nearest as he primed it.

Technically, these guns were going to be illegal in C-Space and any territory with a firm grip from the law in it, but that was only due to the firing restrictions (or rather, lack thereof) placed on them rather than the weapons' actual destructive capacity. Due to the skyrocketing demand for eezo inflicted by the rebuilding effort and the relative lack of funds, these two latest series lacked the trademark EZRRS systems that made his weapons such remarkable instruments of destruction. Now he had to rely on durability, reliability, and conventional accuracy, just like many of his competitors. Of course, the continued improvement of ergonomics for even non-tailored weapons, in addition to the much-lowered cost of production and by extension, sales, should be of some benefit.

Dominance
Battis frowns at Juhani. "Hey, you okay, bro? We're bein' grim an' dark because Peraxus here is talkin' crazy that he actually wants to be blood kin with us. Ain't that we don't want you too but we don't wanna have to shoot you someday and you can take that from a man who actually turned his back on the Hierarchy and spent the next ten years with the surname "Battis the Turncoat." Yeah, that was my actual name on North Solregit. So don't tell me I don't know where you're comin' from." He takes a swig of ale and adds, "An' if your ex wife doesn't get that you did give her a kid, she can take a flyin' fuck-off."

That translation didn't come through quite right, but the sentiment's pretty obvious.

The Sunrisers
"It's not that I'm trying to be edgy about my turncoatism, I'm just lamenting- I'm just-" his speech starts to break up into sniffs. "You people are the only ones I feel I'm truly at home with and- and- I picked the wrong side, picked wrong choices-" Juhani breaks down sobbing, just slumping down onto the floor and trying to disappear between a couch and a table.

Maybe someone should get him to the bunkroom to sober up.

A gentle presence plucks at Juhani's coat.

Raelon's not strong enough to lift the human to his feet--he's leaning pretty heavily on a wheeled cart his own self--but he does take Juhani's hand and wrap it firmly around one of the cart's handles, reserving the other for his own use.

"Juhani. We are intoxicated, you and I. It is time to rest."

He tugs again on the man's coat, gently but insistently, and then he folds his hand at the wrist. The talons holding Juhani's sleeve are skeletal metal, but the back of his hand, that now rests on Juhani's, is warm flesh.

Silver Future
Teary-eyed Juhani looks up to the shaman insistently trying to get him back to his feet. He'd sit there longer but, no, he'd have to go. Party was no place to sulk, he shouldn't ruin others' fun and what of Aira? She'd see him intoxicated and bawling his eyes out. It was better for everyone he'd go to bed.

He heaves himself up to his feet, but the way in his step makes Juhani lean hard on Raelon as he looks for his footing.

"Whoops! Sorry...l-lead the way shaman. I-I'll be right on your heels..." he stutters, wrapping an arm around Raelon's back for support. Or he's just groping around for a feel. Or both. Juhani can't tell which, as he's being led away towards the bunks.

"Could you...I mean, would you mind if-I feel so lonely. Can you sleep next to me?" could be faintly heard coming from their direction.
