"Working on it, Everett. Approaching high ground. Will soon have superior position. Or if I'm lucky, a bargaining chip."

He approached the top of the hills the shot had to have come from, thermal vision sweeping the hilltops. The cloaked frog moved slowly now, the blur of the imperfect invisibility nearly undetectable now against the blowing snow.

"Yeah, you couldn't make me open fire on them even if admiral hackett ordered me personally. waaaay to big a chance of hitting vohk from here."

Gestran
Having a large gun to your head works wonders on returning clarity of mind.

"I would like both of us to live through this."

He said, slowly, cautiously. Angry logic hadn't worked with her, so he needed to try something else. He took a breath, thinking furiously, having no idea what the others were doing. Right now, all he had was his voice, and he wasnt convinced she would fire anyway, seeing how she'd fired unprovoked already.

"You're right, the woman's voice you hear belongs to my wife. She, and our daughter, who's only nine months old, are probably at the camp. We came here, because we wanted to help Nartin rebuild, to help Thessia and her people heal. We didn't come alone. Over at that crash site are truly remarkable people, who came here, while their own worlds are still rebuilding, to do what they can to help. One of them is actually the bond mate of Martiarch Mirala T'Narf, one of the most remarkable people I've ever known. I don't know Everett beyond a professional capacity, but he came here, to help reubild the world of some one he cares deeply for. Another, my friend Lupin, came here because I asked him to, leaving his homeworld and family behind to help yours. Okay?

He took a breath.

"We're not here to steal or push you around, alright? I'm not your enemy. If you need help, you don't need to get it this way. If its because of family, or wanting to protect yourselves, believe me, I do understand. But there are better ways to do this. Put the gun down. No one needs to die, okay?"

The scarred man asked, the cold pinch of the gun dominating his sensations.

Neil decided to switch to secondary channels as well. "Folks, I am still up for providing the psycho-bitch a distraction so you can go and take the shot. Unless anyone else has any other brilliant ideas."

Just for clarification: should I assume he finds the sniper or will you tell me? Been assuming the latter and waiting before actually finding her.

ouch, yeah thats not gonna do it, Vohk can verify that it was fair and that you had to roll 50 or less.

Trixina smiled, shaking her head.

"Boy, you really do love yer speeches now dontcha. I'm sorry but we're waaaay past that, but thanks for the info though."

Suspicion confirmed, she gags Vohk and opens up a comm channel to muck via vohks radio, streaming a video feed of Vohk to her. She takes a deep breath. This would be one of the hardest things she'd ever done in her life, she needed to keep her poker face.

"Hello there, we haven't been introduced but I've learned that you two (she points to Vohk with her gun) know each other pretty intimatly."

"I'm willin to make a trade. I offer up this vohk guy an' m'self against a quarter of the haul. I have transportation for it ready from elsewhere and I'll remain here with him unarmed so ya can pick us up after the transport's gone. Now this is my final offer, otherwise I'll shoot him and we'll take our chances."

Without so much as blinking she shoots Vohk in the little toe.

"just to prove my point, one more scar won't do a do any difference. you have 1 minute. I'll be on this channel."

Sometimes you're so focused on spotting the small things that you forget about the big picture. That big picture in this case was a hovercraft sized hill, that upon closer inspection, wasn't a hill at all.

Just as wenrum spots a small scope jutting out of the snow, he also spots a laser trained on his side coming from said hill, the beam going straight through his active camo, but still following his every step.

Shrell. Was the first thought he had. Freezing in place, he hoped the sniper's sight would continue to follow his path. If not, he took a moment to ready his plan of action. At least he knew where the asari was. That might be all he needed. A Stasis field might have worked if he had caught her unaware, or he had cover, but he wouldn't be able to complete the move before that bullet would be through his side.
Hope this works.
He grit his teeth and leapt to his side, OT already flinging a standard Sabotage at the scope.

Lirena just manages to squeeze off a shot before the sabotage hits her, missing Gallik by a millimeter, however the pressure from the immensly powerfull round still tears through his barrier and disturbs his cloaking field. With catlike reflexes, the massive asari draws her sidearm and leaps toward the salarian who is only a few meters away from her. She gets her sights on him only to to find that gallick also has his pistol up. Neither have any allies immediately available.

Everett froze up as he heard the distinct crack of a sniper rifle. It didn't look like the round struck anywhere near Vohk and the asari, though. Not good; it would only cause the situation to escalate.

"What the hell was that? Status," Everett hissed into the comm.

Gestran trains his binoculars on the salarian as the widow goes off.

"FUCK! I think he.... No, he's ok... Uhhh... Muck, Gallik and... Holy shit that girl is RIPPED! Errr..."

He takes a deep breath, collecting his thougths.

"Muck, this is Gestran. Gallik and an unidentified asari are currently pointing pistols at each other, none of them are currently making a move."

Gestran
Without taking his aim off the asari in front of him, he muttered into the mic "Under control."

His next moves were carefully calculated, staring down the barrel at his opponent.
(OOC:just gonna post his whole sequence)

His eyes narrowed underneath the goggles that masked his face.

A heartbeat passed, and he jumped into action. A wave of his hand and a biotic barrier sprang into being around him, ready to block her first reflex shot. His next move was an overload, to knock out any shield she had.

Now to deal with you.

He leapt forwards, of all places, driving his fist into her gut, OT activating the Stun application they all had installed, set to maximum.

Lirena manages to fire two shots before the salarian rams into her. The huge Asari doesn't even move an inch, taking the blow to the gut without as much as flinching. When the omnitool comes, she blocks with the left arm, the shock causing the limb to flail madly around. However she grabs the salarians head with her immense right limb, her body glowing softly blue before delivering a brutal kinetic blast, causing the salarian to fly several meter through the air.

As she gets up the mad arm spasms continue, untill the entire limb breaks off by the elbow, revealing an entirely robotic arm. She screams, the pain so overwhelming that she passes out, her stump still flailing.

Gallik, you've suffered a concussion. You're still conscious, but extremely dizzy. moving would not be wise.

Crazy stunts will have payoffs and I encourage them but sometimes they have consequences.

Gallik grunted as he lay there in the snow, definitely glad for the hardsuit to keep out the cold.

"Everett, squad....Captured one of them. She got.... Me pretty good though. If someone... Could get to my location, could organize a trade for Knox. Fortune... favors the bold, as you humans say.."

Oof. He sure was dizzy. His head canted to the side, looking at the unconscious asari in the snow. What a monster.

Acknowledged. Glad this one at least came with a (mostly) positive outcome, heh

Helena stared at her now silent OT, the image of Vohk gagged and in pain. She might have capitulated right then, if not for Gestrans report.

They've already physically fired on us. Its just going to escalate. We need to over power them now, and get Vohk out of there.

She thought rapidly, knowing that if she just ordered an attack...

We need a distraction. A big one

She rapidly conferred with Frosty, before opening communications with Gestran and the others, her voice clipped and authorative.

"Patrol one, this is Cobalt. In less than a minute, we're going to unleash the biggest distraction we can. When we do, do everything you can to subdue the raiders and rescue Vohkaidin. Make sure your protective eyewear is on."

She closed the communication and then turned to Frosty. The pilot, who's voice was unknown to the asari raiders, spoke into his own communicator, the same channel that Trixina had hacked into.

"Patrol one, this is QRF squad Sigma Theta. We'll be dropping with heavy weapons in ten seconds. Keep your heads down!"

He shouted, before cutting the line. He gave Muck a thumbs up, before rapidly descending the Kodiak.

A moment later, the shuttle broke the cloud cover, loudly announcing to the universe their presence, before rapidly slowing. As soon as it became somewhat stable, the shuttle doors opened, a vengeful Helena behind them. Without waiting, she opened fire with the grenade launcher, resulting in several blinding thunder claps in the general area, an illusion of actual explosions. This was obviously the distraction. But would it work?

Gallik heard the announcement of the distraction and internally winced a little.

Well there went the trade idea. Oh well. Interrogation would still work. It'd take a lot to interrogate that monster of an asari though.

Wenrum
It hurt. It did. But the loss of the tiny digit hurt less than the realization that all his words had done was give his enemy a weapon to use against his wife.

Angry and ashamed, when the light show happened, he did the only thing he could. He shifted his weight, rolling with as much force as he could muster, towards his asari captor, a bitter and likely ineffectual attack, in the hopes of tripping her up.
