Reapers XX: The Heist

Current Game Status: Game Over

Everything was going along just fine in the branch office of the First Bank of Irune when things went tits up. Four masked individuals, a vorcha, a drell, a human and a salarian entered the bank, shot the guards. They are keeping the customers and staff under gun-point as their safe cracker began to drill into safe to get the eezo.

The alarm was triggered however and now the robbers, and the civilians are all stuck in same building.

Introducing the players!

Playing as the Customers:

  • 2LT Harris as a human
  • 4Eyes4TheWin as a batarian

  • Icarus as a vorcha
  • Mr_Sandman as a human
  • RememberTheBlitz as a salarian

What's happening now! (Read This, There Is Important Gameplay Information)

  1. At this moment the C-Sec is negotiating with the robber's fixer, in 12 hours from now the robbers will be able to leave the bank unarmed and rich beyond their wildest dreams!
  2. Each robber can shoot one person an hour meaning the four of them can shoot four other players each hour. If they do this they 3 hours will be added to the time to leave. If they shoot everyone THEY WILL LOSE.
  3. Any person who dies that wasn't killed by the robbers, of example by lynching results in reducing the robbers need to wait before they can leave by 3 hours, because C-Sec doesn't want anyone to be hurt. More importantly if you lynch a robber they all get free shots (except for the lynched).
  4. The robbers can give simple orders to non-robbers, meaning ins short if they say you should write in haiku form you are expected to write in haiku. They can't order you to shut-up. If two of them give contradicting orders then the last (newest) order is the one that must be followed.
  5. The elcor player must stay in character as described in your PM during play.
  6. Don't try to kill the elcor, he's immortal. An attack might at most slow him down a bit.
  7. The elcor player is free to ignore orders from the robbers if the whim strikes him, the elcor plays by his own rules, he's a maverick!
  8. Remember your objectives, remember the private chats some of you have access too, remember that I am a sneaky guy and there's probably some sneaky stuff happening in the background... or maybe not.
  9. Stealth actions must be sent via PM to me, non-stealth actions can be sent to me via PM or put on the board.
  10. Lynch votes are only reset after a lynch, otherwise they will go on from hour to hour.

Rules:

  1. No whining
  2. My decision is final.
  3. In this thread we'll enforce a short post rule: you are allowed only four medium sized paragraphs, anything longer might result in penalties or even mod-kill
  4. The game time is counted in hours; each hour takes 24 hours real time, a schedule below will be posted for your convenience.
  5. You do NOT have to post if you do not feel like it, but know that in doing so you're missing out, maybe not
  6. There is a simple majority lynch; meaning 50% 1 vote will result in a lynch. Lynching does not advanced the day or hour. There is a delay of two hours between lynching's.
  7. No editing of the post - Except for change of characters

2LT Harris
FUCKING THANK YOU.

...more to the bloody point,

4Eyes4TheWin wrote:No it's not. He didn't strangle anyone.

No, but the asari did just BUTCHER SOMEONE WITH BIOTICS. Did that pass your attention? Fucking staff member or not, she just up and did ... that. I just want to find out what the bloody mercy she's playing at.

I'm quiet because I'm scared and confused! D:

More so now that my asari co-worker just murdered someone with biotics! That's a terrible thing to do, whether the person was a robber or not, and that makes me worried, so...

VOTE JERAL

I want to find who the strangler is as much as anyone else, but now that Jeral's flipped out... It's more important we get rid of the obviously crazy, right?

Apparently people are upset that a bank employee killed a robber with her natural-born biotics... even her co-workers are against her!

Jeral the Improbable Here I am. Just being awesome.
Okay, dropping the RP stuff so that we can focus a bit on the game.

First off, why I flipped out. To begin with, everyone is being waaaaaaaaaaaay to complacent in this game. We are just letting time pass and, whether there are hidden factions or not, the town will suffer from inaction. Yes, lynching reduces the amount of time before the robbers win, but sitting around and waiting it out, as you might have noticed, is letting the strangler have their way and reduce the amount of time anyways. Consider this a call to action.

Also, I don't know about you guys, but I never recieved a win condition. We have no garuntee whether finding the hidden faction is the goal, or surviving the heist, or whatever is the end goal. So, I acted towards the one obvious threat we have, the robbers. There was a chance to off one, so I took it. Who knows if we will ever get that chance again. Was this the right call? Honestly, I have no clue. I wouldn't be surprised if the robbers were nothing more than a distraction, but the unusual set up here has me out of sorts. Thus, I dealt with the one threat I know exists.

So we come down to this, what to do. Honestly, I have a few ideas right now. One is to pressure the robbers. It's an unusual game that I have no clue what our goal is. It's possible that the robbers are actually on our side, that they are nothing more then a distraction. If that's the case, we need to figure that out right now, and the best way to get information from them at this point is via pressure. Besides which, if we do end up lynching one, they now only get one free shot. A loss that we can now absorb. Cont in next post.

Another idea would be to go after inactive players. I know, I know, dippy is hating on me right now for that suggestion. But, eh... Quiet is dangerous. I don't like that there are a few people on that list I have seen only post once or twice the entire game.

Lastly... Well... Honestly I am a bit thrown off by the format of the game. I don't expect my reads to be helpful at all this time round because I am kind of flailing around in the dark. Regardless, lynching me makes absolutely no sense. Lynching me for... What now? Taking out a member of the robbers? Costing us no loss in time? I would really like to know what the slight is here, because you are all lynching for what appears to be no real reason.

Anyways, Vote RTB. I stand by the assement that either we need to figure out the true goal of the game if it isn't killing the robbers, or we need to off them if this is our goal. This furthers both agendas.

Aaaaaannnnd last thought.

TechOp, why is it you are listing those names. I assure you, I am listening to you, but the list is robbers and Figulus. Are these the "real threats"? Some clarification before you exit would be nice,

Ok I've been thinking about all this. First I really don't feel like you're wining. The situation is so confused that I don't feel like we're learning anything about anyone, hence the lack of lynching. And frankly I think we're losing.

Now I don't like the idea of lynching Jeral. His biotic display does not strike me as something a hidden murderer would do, and if we figure out who the real bad guys are, he can be a huge help. I'd just ask that he refrain to kill the robbers before it becomes a bloodbath. And I'd ask them to humor him from now, since their guns may not be as efficient as we hope if real bad guys are among us.

That said I'm getting concerned about Fetchquest. She doesn't post, makes herself tiny, and when she does she bandwagons and targets the biggest advantage sentients may have here.

So for the first time I feel like I'm actually doing something proactive in this game by unvoting Figulus and voting FetchQuest. Goddess have pity of us.

Oh no! This one is being strangled! The cruel irony! How does one strangle a hanar anyway? This one though it would be impossible...

Enkindlers...take this one...to the light...

Time...to...die

The hanar stops blinking slowly, slick salty-smelling liquid starting to seep out of the gashes the strangler left upon the poor thing.

4Eyes, I'm a volus. I can't kill things! My puny little arms couldn't strangle anyone!

As far as I can tell, my win condition (though never actually given to me in the PM) is to survive, so I'm just trying to get rid of the people who might kill me!

I'm torn.

I'm kinda with those saying lynching Jeral is probably a mistake.

The overly flashy 'I'M KILLING SOMEONE!' routine makes me think he probably isn't our 'scum' (or whatever counts as scum in this game.

Then there's another part of me thinking it's tooobvious. That part wonders if perhaps he isn't the stealth killer but perhaps an ally of it. Diverting attention away from the shadows by giving us something shiny to focus on. Possibly even has a defense against lynching?

Perhaps a risky, but interesting maneuver; Lynch someone more shady, or presents a possible risk. As M-Pax has said, the Dekuuna-Clan's steady march to the exit may be a threat. As of yet we've lynched no one but the kills keep racking up. It may do nothing, attempting to lynch him, but so far that's all we've done anyway. An alternative is V. He bothered me from the beginning, and he's made a few mistakes quoting his previous opinions. Nothing Really bad, but better than nothing.

While we focus our votes on one of them, those of us with guns could deal with Jeral? Takes a hit to the timer, but again. It is better than nothing.

What Happening

The vorcha takes his gun and shoots at the turian (played by Talonz who's also a turian RNG can cause that.) Except that Talonz grabs the gun out of Icarus' hand and shoots the vorcha in the face. Unfortunately for everyone The vorcha is back on his feet in no time tackling Talonz to get his gun back. Which he does and so the two are at a standstill.

Icarus SHOOTS Talonz
Talonz COUNTERS Icarus and SHOOTS Icarus
Icarus uses EXTRA SURVIVABILITY to shrug off one bullet shot and take his weapon back.

C-Sec is not amused by this 1 hour.

Yeah sorry babe. This post looks dirty as fuck to me. Especially the bit about trying to get rid of people who might kill you. Good excuse for bandwagoning. Only not.

Unlynch Figulus. Lynch FetchQuest.
