CRA to Research Methods of Transporting Citadel

Falmon Salra, General Science Journal

For over a year, scientists have pondered over how the Reapers managed to transport the Citadel from the Serpent Nebula to Earth’s orbit during the final days of the Reaper War. Theories range from basic estimates of eezo required to alleged "secrets" the Citadel has kept hidden since the Council’s foundation.

Today, the Citadel Research Association announced the formation of an official committee of both Council and non-Council species to begin investigation, research, and analysis of how the Citadel was transported to Sol, and whether such a feat can be duplicated.

The CRA is expecting such an endeavor will likely last years, if not longer, before any meaningful findings could be published. This has earned criticism from other members of the scientific community, including the Hierarchy Science Bureau and the Alliance Scientific Research Committee. ASRC member Dr. Julian Yasgur in particular argued that the CRA’s project “is spending time, resources and minds on a frankly meaningless project.”

Responding to Dr. Yasgur's comments, CRA member Dr. Yilea Nareni stated that “[the Reaper war proved] even the Citadel is not impenetrable in time of crisis. On top of that, there is so much about this station that we have yet to truly explore. If we can figure how the Reapers managed to do this, perhaps we can find other secrets along the way...and should another war break out, we’ll be ready.”

Remember how one of those Reapers easily fit inside it back in 2183? Now imagine that, instead of one of them, you had a whole host of fighters or even a complement of carriers.

Just spitballing here.

yeah you could drag it to omega and we can have station wars

LOLno thanks.

Seriously, I actually don't mind the thing being above a planet. But given what the Citadel once used to be, some sort of neutral ground and not attached to any specific species it is somewhat strange. I have only been assigned to the Citadel embassy after the war so I can't say if the feel for the permanent residents is so different.

At least the humans didn't make it some sort of Alliance barracks in orbit or the like. Actually, the veteran diplomats tell me, it is rather business as usual with them, they don't act as if they own the place. So for all I care, why not have the neutral ground where it is?

Looking into the secrets of the Citadel is a good endeavor though. We should have known much much more and sooner. if they dig up a working propulsion system, fine. that's something the Council can decide.
