Court of Lords Orders Quarantine

Samhaus, MEGALOS BREACH - Public outcry and official protests have erupted from turian and batarian officials as the Robath Freehold's Court of Lords ordered quarantine of districts in the capital including Bacus, Scapai, and Alaso, as well as the secondary cities of Hivisa and Novus. “Evacuation of [those uninfected by the Robath Blue] poses an unacceptable risk that containment will be breached and that the pathogen will be spread to clean sites,” stated Lord Esatha, current leader of the Court majority faction.

The action has met with opposition within the Court of Lords. “These are our families, our kin, our friends,” replied Lord Arcitis in a public address. “If you think that we will abandon the easily saved based upon the edict of one overinflated bureaucrat, you are sorely mistaken.”

At this point I'm not even convinced of it being an outbreak anymore. Probably the majority government cleaning out undesirables to make more room.

Videos of deteriorating conditions within isolated zones flood the extranet. Scenes include: bands of violent, delusional infected people preying upon isolated civilians, failure of power grid and utilities, and the Court divided as Lord Arcitis and allies storm out of today’s emergency session.

So there are zombies.

This one is most distressed to see the fracturing of the Robath reef occurring so rapidly. Some of its learned betters aboard ship have suggested that the physical malady is representative of a deeper spiritual sickness among such impolitic sects as these, and fear that contagion cannot be contained where the crudity of violent action and fearful intolerance is preferred to the measured discourse of compassion and rationality. This one is not sure it agrees, but it is most sorrowful for the suffering of those afflicted! It believes too many voices have been darkened already.

Quarantine line breached. Infected civilians have been confirmed in the cities of Protheri, Veratuallia and the orbital station Magnus.

Systemwide martial law has been declared, and a full media blackout has been instituted.

Our thoughts are with those inside.

So it's already on an orbital station. Good chance it has spread further then. Sucks.

Have to wonder if it affects levo, not just dextro. Can't really tell with these articles.

Who wants to bet their neighbours want to get some of that plague for themselves to weaponize against turian nations?

We might just see that happening.
From the way this has developed so far, it is one of the next possible steps.
This is out of proportion, Mr Aleksanders. I know the meaning of the words but the scale this is getting is beyond anything regular. It is either desperate or planned. I don't know what's worse to imagine.

So, just to clarify, you see absolutely nothing wrong with leaving the lines of trade between the capital world currently being wracked by a plague and all their neighbors and uninfected holdings intact?

For the head of a transgalactic company you don't read so well. It's quite clear to me the asari is commenting on how unnatural this "disease" is acting.
