Fleet and Flotilla: Homeworlds Goes Directly to Holovid
Arielle Johnson – Galaxy Entertained RANNOCH – Risa Uvarsen will release his latest production, Fleet and Flotilla: Homeworlds, straight from Rannoch Studios to holovid later this month. Fleet and Flotilla: Homeworlds is a three hour romantic drama, centering around quarian Shalei and turian Bellicus and their love. As Bellicus is kept away from his love by service on Palaven, Shalei tries to build a home on Rannoch. Torn between their duty for their people and their eternal love for each other, the protagonists have to face the cruel obstacles of galactic reality. Which homeworld will they end up on? Preorder the holovid on the Rannoch Studios site to find out! The vid was filmed completely on location, making it the first and surely the biggest production from Rannoch in over three centuries. “This movie is a showcase for the rebuilding of our holovid industry. In contrast to the first movie we will see much more of quarian music and dancing, Bat’Zaer of Rannoch Studios told Galaxy Entertained. “We have the largest dancing scene ever filmed on Rannoch in it.” If you love Fleet and Flotilla, gaily colored suits and lots of hipshaking and singing under the moon, don’t miss Fleet and Flotilla: Homeworlds. Is yours the one hijacking one of the conference rooms with a projector? Because I hope you have a big room, the signup sheet over here is looking pretty long.
Oh no, we're at a private place - I hope! Actually, the idea of booking a room came up but seriously, no screen can be big enough that I want to view this in a conference room?! The representative lounge was already occupied. You work over at the turian's, Jo? Maybe we have seen each other without knowing. I'll have an eye out next time. ![]() |

I can't wait to see this movie! Loved the first one even if it was a bit sappy at times. But I'm a sucker for a good romance.

The music and dancing parts seem like they'd be fun to watch! They're always a nice touch to a movie, makes it a little livelier.
It's just nice to finally see quarians dancing on-screen again. The original Fleet and Flotilla and a few other films had it. But after the Geth War they really faded into obscurity outside of the flotilla and centuries old vids |

Hey Ragamuffin, are you new here? I don't remember your name...
But yeah, the dancing is fantastic. I was looking into quarian styles a bit some time ago - trying to fight the physical differences in our leg structure. It's still fun though. ![]() |

Yes! :) Yeah, I imagine trying to do a quarian dance with your leg structure would be really difficult. But you are still probably much better at dancing than I am. Because I have zero talent in dancing. I just like watching them. |

I have obtained a few really good instruction vids with adapted steps. Unfortunately I have been occupied wth others tuff lately, so I couldn't create a real set with it. Still a plan though.
You know what I can't do? Sing... maybe your better at this? Do you get the sing along versions? Now that I think of it, all of you quarians have built in sound systems which is kind of unfair. ![]() |

I wish you luck then.

Now that I think of it, all of you quarians have built in sound systems which is kind of unfair. No I can't sing either. :P Yeah, I think all copies will have a sing-a-along mode you can enable, just like the original. And those are always very fun to do with friends and family (and my little girl singing is the most precious thing ever) so I'm looking forward to doing it with this one too. And yeah, I guess having a built-in sound system is neat to aliens. But it's really distracting so I never use it. |

I'm kinda in the same boat, but in my case it's cause my new leg was not built with dancing in mind.Taleeze wrote:Hey Ragamuffin, are you new here? I don't remember your name...

Because I have zero talent in dancing. I just like watching them. I'm definitely going to need to watch the origional first for two reasons. One, so I can follow the plot, and two because its a musical. I love musicals, and I feel it's an under-appreciated genre. Sure there are plenty of good musicals here on Earth, but most of them are reproductions, a few of which are over a century old! And a lot of the newer ones...aren't that good. They appear to be too focused on "wide appeal" and "marketing image" to really care about quality. Any sufficiently advanced riddle is indistinguishable from nonsense. - Parson Goetei |

Oh, how old is your daughter? I don't know when that age hits with quarians but there is sudden break, when singing along to romatic movies with mummy isn't cool at all anmyore for an asari;) White-Eyes, I hear you on the quality aspect. When people start bugging the DJ in a strip club about musical melodies, something is wrong with the genre. ![]() |

When people start bugging the DJ in a strip club about musical melodies, something is wrong with the genre. Huh, do that's why that option's on the vids? I always wondered why. Figured it was more as a fun thing to do at a party, like karaoke. But yeah, this recent trend in "justifying" where the music comes from is dumb. In a lot of new ones (and unfirtunatly remakes) it's either a dumb meta joke, or they don't think the audience can accept that the music is "just there". Well if that's the case, doesn't it just raise more questions about the spontaneous lyrics, perfectly in tune backup singers in the crowd, and large multiparty perfectly executed choreography? Look, it's a musical. People are going to burst into song. People watching it know it's going to happen because that's the way it is in the genre. Don't waste time trying to explain it, just do the song already! Any sufficiently advanced riddle is indistinguishable from nonsense. - Parson Goetei |
