"He was, Telos." Taleeze sensed, that the turian didn't want to talk extensively bout his own family. She didn't mind, everyone had his own history and ways to deal with it.

She looked around, the arrangement of the appliances and tools all in place, awaiting their use.
"So, what's up with the surroundings? Care to show me the gardens and stuff? do you have a pool or something?"
Link Link Quote

Taleeze
"Well, as you can see the entire complex is built upon a large chunck of granite on the shore of the lake. The only gardens worth seeing are the ones on the roof. But the nature around the lot looks amazing as well! From what I know Nevos doesn't have any hostile fauna. Well... not too hostile!" The turian chuckled.

"As for the pool... According to the map there's a small spa sort of area in the basement. But I think..." He smirked as he turned around towards a small, previously unnoticed landing of a stone staircase at the edge of the patio "...we might as well have something better!" Taking another sip from his ale, Tel steped closer to the railing, trying to take a better look at the staircase.

The stairs were made of natural stone. They went down the smooth rock in zig zags among the little trees and bushes. It finally stopped at about 30 meters lower. It seemed to land on a small beach on the shore of lake Ylica. It was full of brightly coloured pebbles instead of sand, over wich the cold and crystal clear blue water of the lake washed over gently. Tel smiled at the view. Looks like yet another secret of this wonderful place was just discovered!

Taleeze also looked over the guardrail. It was steep and deep but that private beach was a aweet secluded place. A good thing there was such a long stairway. She wouldn't be too tempted to just go down there, should the evening get entusiastic.

"That's something nice indeed. Yeah, there's really nothing gross here, not even in the sea. I can remember some plans to import Thessian squakas a long time ago, for soem diving experience, so there would be something exciting and dangerous. But that didn't pass, I think it was a water temperature problem in the end. I am also lucky that latest stunt with the talxu got at least delayed. I hope it gets canned completly. Hm, can you actually swim? Turians arn't too fond of water usually."
Link Link Quote

Taleeze
"Yeah, I really don't agree with importation of animals to lush worlds like this in general. Besides, why does everything in the galaxy has to be so... 'thrilling'? Some people just cannot apreciate these heavens of peace and tranquility you know. It's a shame.?" The turian takes a second look down

"Yeah... turians don't really deal with water well. I don't like water myself too much... But sometimes I do enjoy getting my feet wet on the shorline. But believe me, any water level above knee level is a huge 'no' for me" He laughs a bit.
Link Link Quote

Pilotlight
"Needless to say, I'd dive away like nothing. That's what I love about Nevos, you are never far from the water." She thought back to Illium.
"When I was visiting Illium, we went swimming in the Gemstone Lakes. The light from the crystals under water colors the water with all kinds of reflections. It is as if diving into a rainbow or a million prisms. It was something special."

Illium... that brought up a memory that put a needle into her heart, on Illium was Skylar, lovely and fair Skylar. Beautiful and elegant Skylar, funny and charismatic Skylar.
Taleeze sighed.

"So, is there anyone you can share this place with? Any special person?" That was a kind of personal question but Taleeze didn't think it was inappropriate.
Link Link Quote

Taleeze
"Ah... the Gemstone Lakes. Haven't seen them from up close but the view from the view that you get from an apartment is simply... amazing" Tel takes a deep breath of fresh air, taking a quick look around him again, gazing at the lush environment "This galaxy is just so full of wonders". The turian really liked saying that. He always held a lot of admiration for everything that the Milky Way contained.

Telos chuckled a bit at the question. His relashionship with... relashionships was kind of odd. Only once did he give it a try, a long long time ago. Didn't really work out. Ever since then he just sought temporary company. Lovers for no more than a night; friends a little bit longer maybe. It kept him happy. But there was still something missing from his life. But to keep it short, "Heh, no. Not yet at least. A lone drifter for now. I guess you can say I'm just waiting for the one!"

Pilotlight
"You're the lonesome spacer, huh? I wish you will catch your match some day. Love comes unexpected at times... " yeah, indeed, Taleeze thought.

"I'm have trouble..."
should she really talk about that? then, Telos didn't know either object of her affection. "... with too many. No, not too many, just ... unconventionally many. There are two individuals that both have my heart in a knot." She chuckled.
"One for a longer time, a few decades already and one until recently. I wonder how I ... we can sort this." she had never really thought about any 'we' really but she had to admit, this wasn't about her. It was first and foremost about Skylar and Freh'ya since these were the people she cared about. She sighed and took a big gulp from her beer.
"But, how were your voyages going, what were you doing out there?"
Link Link Quote

Taleeze
Tel smiles "Hmm... a love triangle huh? I know how difficult and frustrating these can get." He gives a friendly pat to the asari's shoulder "But don't you worry alright? Everything will sort itself out. I've come to realise that you know. No matter how difficult any situation may be, in the end it always fixes itself somehow. Almost in a magical way to be honest." He smiles again warmly. He wouldn't mind offering his advice but it seems like this was a topic that Tal didn't really want to bring up.

"Oh, the voyages... I can separate them into three eras now, you know! Diferent ships, diferent times, diferent crews... A diferent me even. Space is a wonderful place. It lets you discover amazing things both up there, but in yourself as well.
Myriads of stars, worlds, nebulas out there; and that's just in our own galaxy!"
Tel lifts his head up as he talks, taking a look at the dim glimmer of the last stars that faded out as noon approached. "Each of these eras had it's adventures. I could even say they were a bit too many!" Tel chuckles "Anything specific you would like to hear?" He asks with a wide smile again before taking a big sip from his drink.

Nice comment from Telos on her love affair. Taleeze somehow was curious about Telos' experiences. Anyway, he was probably right and was saying something similar as Daia had said. Taleeze, for all her easygoing attitude, was especially nervous about this subject sometimes, as it was all bout important people.
"Yeah, you are probably right, it will sort itself." They will sort me out in the end... aaaanyway.

"I can't travel space as much as I'd like to. Maybe I should hire as an engineer or entertainer on an explorer vessel." Or both, she thought and chuckeld.
"Nah, I'm interested in all of that basically. I am following the latest news all the time. Currently I read an account of a crewmember of the Star of Athame for example. It's published by the Board of Astronomy and she's writing about setting foot on uncharted worlds as something intoxicating. So maybe this: What was it like when you set foot on a planet that was uncharted so far?"
Link Link Quote

Taleeze
"First uncharted world I've set foot on huh? Oh that takes me back... During my first 'era' if you wish." The turian smiles
"It was my first year aboard the Vectis a big remote patrol cruiser. I had just graduated from the Edessan flight training program and assigned aboard the Vectis a flight officer. We were on a survey mission, escorting a volus science vessel in the Ouruk cluster right at the edge of the galaxy. After a few days of traveling we reached a system that had a planet affluent in resources. The volus didn't have a landing party that could work in the planet's environment with relative ease. So the Vectis assembled a small team that would go down, do some exploring and bring back samples. They wouldn't normally put a mere flight officer into a landing party but I had to fill in for a cadet that day. The only real reason they picked me was because I could handle an omnitool a little bit better than anybody else available at that moment." Telos chuckles. He remembered everything like yesterday. But then again he remembers most of things quite well. It came quite in handy sometimes...

Flashback...

The shuttle shakes as the landing gear kicks in. The craft gently lands on the sandy surface of the uncharted planet. Tel is sitting in one of the seats, along with the five other members of the team. The shuttle's engine becomes more and more quiet as it shuts down, giving place to the silent warm breeze outside and the gentle hiss of the ventilation systems as the cabin depressurized.

"Alright boys. We are here. You all know your posts. Drilling and scanning navpoints have been updated and installed into your HUDs. As soon as the depressurization is done I want you out and onto your jobs asap. The Volus want the data collected by 1200 local so get going!"

Tel puts on his helmet, adjusting it into it's place until a click is heard. He a bit weird, he had to admit. He had set foot on many other planets before but none of them was unpopulated late alone uncharted. It wasn't that the unknown frightened him. It just... alienated him a bit. He did not know what to expect. There wasn't much time for wondering though. The shuttle door slides open. Bright light from outside illuminates the cabin as the soldiers quickly stand up from their sats and march out of the shuttle, stepping outside onto the new world. They all spread to different directions, each going to their own tasks, not taking a moment to even glance at the landscape.

This beautiful landscape...

Telos stops after getting a few meters away from the shuttle. The scenery infront of him was simply amazing. Towering white sand dunes stretching out as far as he could see. A large bright yellow sun illuminating the green spotless sky.

"Warning. High percentage of atmospheric chlorine detected. Environment rating: Level 1 Corrosion hazard. Advising minimal exposure/Imminent evacuation."

The voice of the suit's VI is heard in Tel's helment, he ignored it completely though as he was captivated by the view.
His eyes scan the horizon before ending up looking downwards. Tel's boots were half covered in the marble white sand. He kneels down, slowly brushing his gloved claw through the sand.
Although this suit didn't come with nervestims, the turian didnt really mind. He could almost imagine the feel. It was like powder. Thiner than than the sands of any beach on Palaven, whiter than any mountain peek. He thought about how he was touching something so far away from home. Further than any place he had ever been before. All these thoughs fascinated Telos more and more. He could do this forev-

"Mallenis!!"
A loud and rough shout comes from behind. Tel rises back onto his feet and makes a full a hundred and eighty degree turn, saluting to the team leader right away. Record time reaction one would say.

"Sir!"

"What do you think you're doing?"

"I-"
"Drilling site! NOW!!"

"Yes Sir!"

...

"Hehe! Yeah.. Thankfully I wasn't scolded back on the ship. A lot." Telos chuckles again, taking a big gulp from his beer and leaning back onto the railing. "It's an experience I'll never forget you know. That scream from Lt. Gullix still makes the scales on the back of my head shiver though!" He smiles a little bit sadly. He couldn't help but think what Gullix and everybody else might be doing right now. It probably wasnt all that hard to find out. He'll remind himself to do something later.
"They later named the planet Chermis. A mining colony was established a bit later. Run by the turians and jointly owned with the volus. It has a small tourism industry too. People go for survival pilgrimages in the deserts, searching inner piece and tranquility or what not."

Taleeze had listened to the man's story and tried to imagine how different it was today from back then. Teles had a very vivid way to tell a story, she noticed.

"Amazing story, Telos. I've never heard of it though. maybe until now I never had the urge to seek inner peace through pilgrimage." In fact, she could look it up, maybe Freh'ya could have a look at their offers. That asari sure had some need for inner peace. She grinned and took another gulp. Taleeze noted her stomach grumbling and her mind wandered to the Retkun'Baba filet in her cooler.

"What about your guests, any idea when they will show up?" Not to mention that I am hungry...

Taleeze
Tel checks the time display on his omnitool. "Well, it's still early morning. I've told them to come by noon or early afternoon so that gives us about... three local hours? Yeah sounds right."

Suddenly there is a beep on the omnitool. Tel switched the display from time to the door camera's view. A young asari in a grey uniform was standing outside. With her face a little bit too close to the camera lense.

"Erm... Ambros Foodstuffs here. We make it you eat it! Got an order for mister... Mellanis!"

"Mallenis, yes. I'll be there in a second." Telos turns to Tal briefly "The food's here. Be right back!"

The turian jogs back into the house, crossing the living room and the hallway. He quickly finds himself in front of the door. He opens it, greeting the asari with a smile.

"Well hello-o-ow... " Tel's smile fades as he notices the rather huge crate the asari had behind her

"Did we really order that much?"

The asari quickly browses through her datapad, before almost smacking it into Tel's face
"Yup! It's aaaaall here!" She says enthusiastically

"Alright, alright... Give me that." The turian takes the pad and signs quickly.

"Thanks sir! Have a nice day. Oh! And thanks for choosing Ambros for your catering services! We'll be happy to serve you again. Bye!" Taking her datapad back, the asari hops away happily, getting back into her holovan and leaving.
Meanwhile, Telos just sits and stares at the huge cube shaped crate sitting in front of the door. It was just about the size of the door itself...

"Um... Hey Tal! You mind coming over here for a sec? I think we might have a little problem here!"

When Telos yelled, Taleeze sighed and dowend the rest of her beer, then she placed the bottle on the railing. She strolled over to the door.

"Oh." she said, looking from the huge containers to the perplexed turian's face and back.
"Who dumped this construction material in front of your door? Or did you order this ... this... what is it?"
Link Link Quote

Taleeze
Telos crosses his arms and taps his foot as he tries to think how to howl this beast inside.

"It's the food... Apparently we got a lot of it." The turian steps outside and goes around the container, taking a closer look at it... "Huh. A 2x2x2 box full of steaks. I'm not sure if this should excite me stress me." He rubs the back of his neck "Any ideas?"
Link Link Quote

Pilotlight
"Well, your fridge isn't big enough for this. Do you have an cooling rooms in the basement?" and do we have to handcarry a ton of dextro steaks from A to B now? Exactly the fun afternoon she had expected.

"Maybe they'll hold up if we don't open it? How could we move this box inside possibly."

Her biotics wern't exactly bad but she wasn't a heavy lifter really. Not this much mass anyway.
Link Link Quote

Taleeze
"Hmm... Maybe we could drag it around the house and put it in the garage? It's connected to the kitchen with a little elevator according to the map." Tel inspects the hoverpad. It didn't seem too hard to pull. "well just take out the boxes one by one and and the automated system will lift them to the kitchen. We'll have to do some sorting though. Set out the snacks and drinks..."
Tel turns back to the asari. "Hmm. Not so bad after all..."
Link Link Quote

Pilotlight
“Oh, that thing has a hoverpad, I didn’t see that!” Now that was much easier, but still. Hard work before the party as they say. Taleeze guessed that was the case here. On top of it, she wouldn’t even be able to eat or drink any of this stuff.

“Okay, we can do that. I wonder what you have purchased for your crew, Captain.”
The hoverpad made the crate easy to move but still its inertia was big and they had to be careful. She helped Telos do the pushing while she was steering the thing, assisting with her biotics. A faint blue glow was engulfing the crate as the pair maneuvered around the corners.

Taleeze
The two slowly push the large container around the house and down the gentle slope besides it. The garage door slides open and the container settles down inside the garage. "Oh all kinds of things. Xemna steaks, Crovax steaks, Louza wings and a few snacks. Silverberries from Oma Ker, Edessanian palm leaf rolls and of course some nice dip sauses from Palaven." Tel grew quite hungry as he talked about all the food... "As for the drinks, we'll keep it light. Some Taetran Ale and wine from Digeris." The turian rubs his claws "It's going to be a fine evening!"

Tel turns of the hoverpad and lets the big container land. "Phew... Well. Here we are." Tel presses a couple buttons on the container's control panel. A hatch kisses open, with a cold fog emerging from it. Inside there were several boxes with various
signs on them. "There we go!" Tel grabs one of them with both claws and carries it over to the far side of the garage. There was another hatch on the wall. Tel opens it and places the box into the small lift inside. "Alright. Box number one going up!"
Link Link Quote

Pilotlight
Yes, great, tell me all about your superb meat. Why did she have to ask in the first place. Next box goes up. Sheesh, that container was cold.
Taleeze thought about her seafood and steak in her cooler. Not nearly as impressive as this shitload of dextro protein but hers.

"That sounds awesome Telos, your people will love you!"
The most likely do anyway, Telos was an easy to like guy, as far as Taleeze could tell. Next package goes. It was a bit like in the military again, storing equipment and supplies for the company.
Then she tried blancing two packages with the help of biotics, it worked. So, package for package went up.

"I have some fish steak and algae salad, beer and sauces with me... actually, do you have any sauces, like hot sauce or something? Haven't seen any. You can't have a BBQ without some hot sauce."

Link Link Quote

Taleeze
Tel follows the asari's example, putting two boxes a time in the lift. "I do have some actually. I was pretty surprised that Ambros had it. It's a bit of an unknown recipe native to the city of Phatraesis on Palaven. You see, they take your regular Valtuvian dressing sauce -a common breakfast dish back home; my favourite- add a special mix of spices -paxilum, silverberry seed powder, dried Saetrix blood and desertpine trunk juice- give the mix a good stir and there! You have the 'Thermonuclear Enhancement Solution'! Or simply, Valtuvian sauce, Practis style." Yeah... even talking about it was too damn appetizing.
"Some say that it is too elaborate for turian standards. Too many flavors mixed up and what not. But to be honest, I think those people just complain because they are jealous of others' cooking abilities" The turian jokes. Reaching far into the container he takes out a large box "There it is!" He proceeds to place it in the lift. Alone this time as it barely fit into the small hatch by itself. "I remember the first time I tried it. I was at the flight academy on Edessan. One day me and the folks had a BBQ at the hall. My friend Vallis who was from Phatraesis convinced me to try some with my Crovax steak. The result was, as the sauce's nickname hints, a small thermonuclear explosion burning its way down my throat. It was gooood!"
Huh. Haven't heard from Vallis in years too" Telos smiles nostalgically. "Oh well. half are up. Hold on just a bit longer Tal!"
