CITADEL SENDS TASK FORCE TO THESSIA

CDR, THESSIA.

The Citadel Council today announced the formation of the Thessian Escort and Reconstruction Force (TERF) A joint taskforce set to provide naval and ground security in the Parnitha system. This comes as a response to the wave of piracy that has plagued Thessian eezo production and export in recent months.

The naval part of the taskforce is the newly formed carrier group ERITREA. Providing support to the Asari navy, with the newly constructed Alliance carrier PICASSO serving as it's flagship and the Turian cruisers TRAMENNIS and CORINTHUS as well as the Salarian frigate squadron LETENT serving as escorts.

Ground assets includes several turian, alliance and salarian battalions drawn from emergency response reserves based on their respective homeworlds. Also participating will be several Citadel based, charity, non-govermental organizations like Intergalactic red cross, Lifebearers, orphans of war and the Templars. These will be tasked with providing ground security and relief on some of the more exposed refineries and settlements on thessia.

The move has drawn criticism from several military analyst claiming that the move weakens the preparedness of each of the participants military forces in a time of unease and reconstruction. The council assures that the impact of the taskforce formation will be minimal and that their mission will be a short one, providing eezo security in this critical time after one the most devastating conflicts in our history.

Remember kids, responsible mercenaries do their jobs and then hire a boatload of hookers, not the other way around.

Well in keeping with my new creed, I've done some research on the place we're going to. On the positive side I've learned that it is in fact just like home.

I know, it's a serious matter (and for what my opinion's worth, it'll be a proud moment when Thessia is as safe and prosperous as she once was, but there's a lot of work to go before that happens, and there's no shame in accepting help until then - quite gratifying, even if economic factors are driving it, to know we've got friends looking out for us), but I'm going to giggle every time this is mentioned on the newscasts from now on. I really didn't think of that meaning before, but now I'll never be able to un-think it.

That sounds like a goddamned lot of security for just some pirates. One or two security/mercenary companies I could see, but ... I dunno. Something about this stinks. I'm guessing at least one of those 'relief efforts' is some cover for someone who wants to port out some Eezo for himself. It's how I'd do it.

Maybe I'd agree with you if eezo was not so important to reconstruction, but since it is literally the key that keeps most of our advanced tech working, the Citadel governments are just using everything they can rationally utilize to prevent this from causing long term damage

You can say whatever you want, so long as it has nothing to do with Templar. You're not exactly proving to be the best spokesman, and its irking me more than a little. I appreciate the good work you do for us, but you need to think about what you say before you say it.

Didn't I just say we're not mercenaries? We exist thanks to a combination of private donation, government support, and our own checkbooks. We're not making a monetary profit out of this.

We're talking about pirates who are stealing trillions of credits of eezo. A massive fleet action is the appropriate response to this situation.

So how do you make a fucking living then? Do some part-time work when not saving worlds?
