PROGRESS: a CDN user poll.

To People Voting for Petra:

SATAE is currently the only power that has had a colonial relay(s) opened (Exodus, kinda-sorta Horsehead), Petra is another SATAE colonial relay, and frankly I don't think it's reasonable to have SATAE get such massively influential relay-choice, especially with the low populations of SATAE colonies. I recommend switching Petra votes to votes for the Nubian Expanse, which gives a more interesting access to Elysium (By slowboat through Nubian) while making pro-SATAE galactic discrimination less bizarre.

After reviewing the votes, the reasoning, and discussing among ourselves, we've decided to choose the three PSYCHE five relays that will be opening up. They are:

Shrike Abyssal (this was easily the popular choice)
Sigurd's Cradle
Nimbus Cluster
Turvess Relay
Mactare Relay

There will be two news stories tied to the relays opening, the first one going up tomorrow and the second a couple days later. We will be discussing how soon people might be able to transit to the new systems (between the current travel restrictions plus additional caution on the part of governments), but once the first news story goes up characters can start talking about it.

I took a galaxy map from the official wiki (not my work, credits to whoever did it!) and marked the old (red) and new (green) relays. Turvess and Taetrus I could not find anywhere so I made two "generic" dots for them. Uploaded to the CDN wiki:

We'll actually make a nice, clean map for site reference, but that's definitely going to be the foundation for it.

Thanks again to Taleeze for giving me the foundation to build this. Questions regarding the map are welcome, we've nailed down the names of un-named relays, and no, I decided against using the old territory "zones", because those really no longer apply.

I have a quick question now though. In my understanding until now /every/ relay was pointing to the Sol-Relay.

Do these lines indicate that as of now (or any news-piece announcing it maybe?) this is no longer the case and that got rearranged?

Back on the old board I had said "Earth finds itself the new center of the galaxy. All relays point to Sol, and the Citadel remains in the planet's orbit". So it's perfectly understandable that you'd read it like that. I meant it to be a take on "all roads lead to Rome", though, to stress how important Earth has become. A moment of poetic weakness, if you like.

In the game, there's not always a direct line to the Serpent Nebula, so there's no reason to assume that the case is different now. After all, to get from Omega to Sol, you'd have to fly through the Galactic Core, and that place is a damned mess.
