ASARI MATRIARCHS OPENLY DECLARE SUPPORT OF TERRORIST FRONT CITADEL-The arduous, glacial, yet uncompromisingly unstoppable bureaucratic process for expelling two Asari Matriachs from the Republics began today, after they openly declared support for a communications site used exclusively for the terrorist network known as Cerberus. Cerberus, widely considered to be the single greatest threat to sentient life after the Reapers since the Reaper War... I suppose it was too much to hope for, because what page should I find left open on a public extranet terminal but a proud cerberus news site with one of the universities own students logged into it. She may not seem like a human supremacist, but it would seem that looks can be deceiving. I can't imagine how stupid you'd have to be to leave yourself publicly logged in to a terrorist site, but there you have it. A bit late to this thread and I see this situation has largely been resolved in Ms. Lombardi's favor but I would just like to ask one question:You people make me sick! I'll make sure Miss Lombardi gets what's coming to her for siding with a group like you! If we were, in fact, a group of radical, hardened neo-human supremacists bold enough to adopt the moniker of Cerberus with an entirely straight face what, pray tell, could you be hoping to accomplish through...long distance shaming and vague threats? Please go away. I was just starting to forget about this whole incident, and I'd really rather my teachers didn't find people like you saying things like that if they were to check this site again. |

Ho cool, a cerbie! We ran out of those. What kind of you, the "Cerberus wasn't all bad until the indoctrination" type, or the "I was 100% for Cerberus until the end, although for some reason I didn't get implanted" kind?
Will you get a menacing avatar? Please don't put a light bulb. Leaving the Ducts offer a training, support and professional opportunities to all Citadel Orphans. We're based on Tayseri Wards, ask me information! Donations are much appreciated. |

Yes and I imagine if one person in the universe actually had the gall to try and pull something like that over, all it would do is bring the entire wrath of the Galaxy upon his or her buttocks in such short order that I doubt they would actually finish the publishing of his or her manifesto. Did I mention how stupid of an idea that is, and that a person like you is better going to choke and die? The future doesn't need lemmings like yourself, thank you. You know...
There is large spiral-armed galaxy around us containing, quite possibly, over three hundred billion star systems. And at least as many planets. Don't get me started on the math that I hate so much but even the mere One percent of these stars that we have explored and settled is still a huge number by itself. As such, it is quite safe to assume -even without looking at the Galatic Council Factbook, Citadel Archives or Extrapedia- that there's, well, billions of sentient beings populating all this room. The majority of these beings seem to have at least some sense of humor or at an odd alien equivalent of it. Our beloved Extranet is a sandbox of humour, sarcasm, cynicism, irony, insults, compliments, pleasure, knowledge, idiocy and entertainment. Where I'm going with all this? Let me just present a few facts to you. If you care to make a quick extranet search you will find about 200 sites of various types claiming to be affiliated with Cerberus or at least bear it's namesake. Us included that is. About 500 sites claim to be the 'official' news site/forum/store/subnet of the Special Tasks Group or even the Spectres. Browse through the Extrabook profiles and you will find about 21.6 million profiles claiming whose owners claim to be Spectres. Another 41 million poses as agents or members of various notorious organizations throughout the galaxy. Be that 'legendary' merc bands, fictional megacorps/pirate groups/slavers, the STG or even the spirit damned Blackwatch. Don't even get me started on the various impostors of the councilors, ambassadors and galactic celebrities that lurk all over cyberspace. Some even seem to think it's quite 'cool' to pose as sentient husks, cannibals or marauders that have somehow learned our languages and gained access to the extranet, where they participate in all kinds of online shenanigans. Now with the geth actively attempting to integrate into galactic society, thousands of people decided to portray geth in online forums. Not to mention all the children that manage to get their cute little hands on a net-connected device. Getting to my point, we are a mere leaf on a tree. Or as humans say, a drop in the ocean. I find it quite puzzling that we have passed as an actual cerberus affiliated news site so many times. None of us is even a hundred percent sure that the former website was actually operated by cerberus. We are getting way too much attention. All grown ups should, by now at least, understand that the Extranet is literally full of such sites. All these confused and oh-so-enraged people that always claim to have uncovered a secret cell whenever they stumble upon such a forum full of bored cadets never cease to amuse me... It's all kind of cute actually! Heh. Anyways, to sum it all up into two words that this concerned lady is probably hearing a lot from her students... "Missy. Chill." An old human saying says "Oh no not I, I will survive For as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive!" Very wise those humans were.<3 |

This one argues that the other, Taleeze, is correct.
It believes that many people feel a desire to demonstrate their moral credentials, or attain a sense of esteem, by engaging in overt condemnation of others - particularly those judged heretical or otherwise outside the boundaries of a shared ideological or moral system. A group attempting to resurrect the spectre of Cerberus would surely be considered a non-controversial target for such posturing displays, and thus a useful outlet for social aggression. That is this one's theory! "I was blind, and I cannot say I had eyes to see the truth. I was a fool, and I cannot say I had sense to know the truth. I was lost, and I cannot say I could have found the truth. In the darkness, truth found me." |

Several actual Cerberus members were pretty clear on CDN actually being cerberus operated before the war, although they were unclear on the actual purpose of it.

Hey, Laykalar. You are discouraging me from posting anything again, you know that?Besides that, I do not see how your point is connected to my one line comment. I was referring to Telos' listing of examples where sites and people on the extranet pretend to be something that they are not really and how hilarious this is. Especially the exception for anyone to fall for it. I meant that there are those who, against their own better knowledge, just want to believe what they see on extranet is true. |

Make us feel mildly guilty? If it may provide a possible answer, this one believes the individual in question is most likely seeking an acceptable outlet for aggressive behaviour as an exercise in affirming its sense of moral esteem. Perhaps it is also gaining or defending status in the perceptions of its fellows? It thus requires a target against which it can moralize in less than decorous manner, while assured that it will not be penalized. This one does not believe there exists any expectation or interest regarding the form of response it provokes. This one cannot be certain, of course. It is merely theorizing! "I was blind, and I cannot say I had eyes to see the truth. I was a fool, and I cannot say I had sense to know the truth. I was lost, and I cannot say I could have found the truth. In the darkness, truth found me." |

Hey, Laykalar. You are discouraging me from posting anything again, you know that? That was not this one's intent. It is most contrite. I meant that there are those who, against their own better knowledge, just want to believe what they see on extranet is true. This one misunderstood. It is still uncomfortable with brevity. It is trying, though. "I was blind, and I cannot say I had eyes to see the truth. I was a fool, and I cannot say I had sense to know the truth.
