Okay, you know what? Elcoss welding drones! 'nuff said.

Seriously they are just a joy to work with, easy to program and so accurate! They adapt to the material on their own, no fiddling with parameters anymore, let them 'sniff' it and program the pattern. They are done before you can even say "I am going to get me a coffee".

Isn't it beautiful? And there will go the throbbing heart and muscle of my beauty-to-be.
Funny enough, finding a proper engine housing that's not a total waste of money seems to be the hardest part, but patience will get me there, I'm sure.

You have been busy, I can see the shape of it starting to form - last time I was down at the garage it was still a labyrinth of pieces. Nice to hear the welders are earning their keep with style (although I imagine the skill of their boss might have something to do with it).

Oh by the way, forgot to mention it last time I was down there - you were talking about noise regulations, I've dug out the writeup Skylar did for me when I was calibrating the engine noise for Ana's Jaguar, it should cover everything you need (if not, you know where to find the author to make tweaks). Let me know when you get up to the testing stage there, I'll bring muffles. :)

What in the Tides did humans do to all the engine housings?? I am able to obtain anything, literally anything down to repro sealing rings but no chance to get my hands on a fitting engine housing! Were they repurposed into secret weapons during the war? I only can find prefab Eezo core units which look totally wrong! No chance if you want to build your own...

I could go through all the crapeyards on earth maybe but I have plans for the next centuries other than just this stupid bike.

You must have a great 'money for work time' ratio with a side project like this!

But seriously, maybe you should try and find someone who could look for special stuff directly on earth for you. Direct connections may be better than just trying to find everything online. There were a few humans looking into the other thread, maybe someone wants to help you out?

Alright, I am approaching final stages!

thanks to the help of someone from CDN (:X) I have finally obtained the elusive engine housing parts!

In the middle is the housing for my little drivecore (some more drilling required). The oscillating field transmitters are basically ready to use and the core vent intercoolers need a bit of polishing up but look perfect on the inside.

I can hardly wait to testrun this thing:)

Good job :)

I can't wait to hear about you riding it for the first time (I'll just sit here and be jealous)

Oh, well thanks!:)

Say, you quarians on Ranoch, don't you have an awful lot of old tech around that you can play around with, get it going again?
I remember.... some longer time ago already, some other quarian showing pictures from abandoned technical installations (forgot their purpose unfortunately).

So that's Arthur's contribution to the project - glad that hurdle's been overcome.

...did you say intercoolers plural? You're serious about getting top performance out of this thing, huh? Nice. :)

I'll try to find time to come down to the garage sometime to see the great undertaking in progress... and you can tell me what I'm going to be wearing next dance show, since the Keepers did well, you can't say they didn't, but not quite well enough.

I don't really feel like messing with three-hundred year tech again for a very, very long time :p

okay! It's been a while and it has finally worked out, thanks to some help from you people!
Thank you for all the helpful links and thank you Arthur, for helping with hardware!

Here she is, the "Taleeze Special", right after the first outing in Nos Astra:

The design is of human origin, most parts are as original as possible, some are custom made.
The engine houses an oscillating Rel RDX53 drivecore which delivers its power to the crank shaft. Double vents and additional open cooling stages (you should hear the sound!).

So that's what that cryptic 'She lives!' message from Eafina was about. :) Looking good (you didn't tell me it'd be red, nice choice) - have you taken Skylar for a ride yet?

Thanks!

Daia, I planned a tour to the Gemstone Lakes this Weekend!
But of course she already got to test the seat on an outing around the block. She was happy it is not exceedingly fast, haha

I've always wanted to restore a Blackfin T-6 skycar, you know from the late [1900s]? Beautiful vehicle.

One day.

Congrats on the bike.

Come on blue, you gotta go further than that! Im talking mid-late 20th century, Human made, internal combustion, four wheeled, ripping and roaring, beauty. How bout a 1973 Dodge Charger R/T full blown V8 Hemi. Beautiful ride, im telling you, beautiful

Eh, to be honest I'm not one for groundcars. I prefer being in the air with all that entails. The views, the sky unfolding around you, the subtle thrill when you descend.

Yeah, skycars are for me.

...how does a krogan even fit into a human designed groundcar?
Link Link Quote

Isadore
Well, first, Im not the big ass brute you imagin when I say krogan. Im actually quite small for a krogan, still a good foot taller than most though. Secondly, heavy modifications.

Air cars are nice and all, but it just doesnt match up to the feeling of all the engine's power, bucking and throbbing beneath you, the roar, real roar of the engine (not the recordings or that high pitch sound air cars have). Its an appreciation you aquire from driving Tomkahs, you just begin to enjoy that kind of vehicle- except Tomkahs them selves, if I never drive another, its too soon.

My my, will these spatial wonders never cease.

Is it your mission in life to irritate me?

Let me clarify, most people, not most krogan

Um, all to their own. I'll stick with pretty views and the thrill of flying.

We're still talking about cars, right?
