She leaned on the railing. "Sometimes I wonder if I stole her fate, somehow, when she died. That I married a priest, live here. She was 'trying' for another child when she died."

"...I threatened to kill the coroner if he didn't take that out of the autopsy report he gave to Rabbas. Like, who needs that?"

"I don't think you stole anything," He placed a hand on her shoulder, just barely managing to brush against her cheek with his finger, "if anything she gave it to you, just in case you needed it, and all you did is keep the good stuff. That's being married to an awesome and frankly handsome priest." he added with a smirk, only to have it washed away moments later.

"you did the right thing, it is a cruddy call to have to make, but you did right."

He pulled her in for a hug, "and I love you Kay, and you know what, maybe him too, just an itty-bitty, and when I finally have the nerve to tell him that, you'll probably have a show on your hands... or at least until you join us. The life we're building is awesome, and I should thank the gods and you each day for allowing me to live and build it."

"Even though I kind of feel sorry for our kids, they will need a diagram to explain their familial situation."

She laughed. "They will not need a diagram. I lived in a community where this was done, and it went mother, father, 'uncle'. Cousin covered related, non-sibling agemates."

"And for the record, Azure hasn't agreed to any of this yet."

"I go with colored diagram in three dimensions maybe a fourth one to make things extra confusing." he retorts with a smirk, "and I know, he needs to be consulted but... I wanted to be the excited one for this one time, so you can be the realist." His smirk widens, "so what I'm saying is, you better deal with it and accept the responsibility."

He leans forward and just kisses her, until he starts to smile and even chuckle, "there, now is there anything else?"
