[EARTH] Leaders of the 'Standard-bearers' Recognized for Domestic Philanthropy Efforts
via Macario Azevedo, Tayseri Times [TOKYO] In what many are calling a significant turning point for the growing political movement, Mr.’s Khorshid Shahbazi and Isaac Algard along with Ms. Chandrabhaga Sathe and Chairwoman Lê Thi Mai jointly received the Masaru Matsumoto Philanthropic Award today for their extensive investment and direct involvement in a number of Earth’s most devastated regions; namely the Latin America-Central and South East-Pacific administrative zones. And, according to recently released reports by the office of Admiral Hackett, their work has not been without tangible effect: if the current rate of reconstruction and rehabilitation continues the national blocs are expected to break the Sixty Five Percent barrier by close of the the second and third fiscal quarters of 2189 respectively. A welcome change from the much more conservative reports released early last year that placed said dates closer to late 2192 if, indeed, at all. “Truly, these men and women have honored my father’s legacy of charity and hospitality,” stated Matsumoto Junko, CEO of Matsumoto Technologies during her presentation speech. “To all those who would doubt the power, or reach of human kindness, I say that one only need to look to people such as these to have their faith reaffirmed.” However the selection of the recipients has drawn no small amount of criticism and ire from watchdog groups such as the popular blog EyeOnTheSkies; which, in a recent post, drew attention to the party’s connections with the SA military, steadfast backing of the Systems Alliance Transitional Authority on Earth, as well as the party’s recent absorption of a substantial number of Terra Firma moderates. Accusing the organization as a spiritual successor to the ill-fated group, the essay has already seen widespread distribution across the extranet. In an interview with the Times the Chairwoman acknowledged the accusations, though reaffirmed her adherence to what she believes to be the party’s basic tenets and organizational discipline. “Our motive is not and has never been one of xenophobia or hate. Hate is born of fear and misunderstanding and I find that all three make for a poor seat from which to make decisions on policy. What we support, what we have always supported is a strong, self reliant humanity that can engage with its allies and colleagues such as the Hierarchy and Clans on equal terms. And we believe that the key to this rests within the preservation of the myriad of human cultures against exterior erosion, a strong national navy and marine corps, a secure colonial network, and the growth of domestic industries.” A retired Rear Admiral of the SAN Third Fleet who served during the Mindoir Incursions and subsequent crackdowns in the Skyllian Verge; Ms. Lê Thi Mai was elevated to a position of some prominence during the Reaper War; primarily for her actions in coordinating and leading resistance forces in the South East Asian theater. She is credited with overseeing the evacuations of Hanoi and Tokyo as well as organizing a number of successful guerrilla actions over the course of the conflict. In the same interview Chairwoman indicated that the Standard-Bearers would be both capable and interested in participating in the SA Parliamentary elections at the conclusion of the Five Year Plan, citing party discipline, the self evident results of their work, and an amenable political atmosphere. “Frankly,” stated Ms. Lê Thi Mai, “I like our chances.” Presslink News Aggregator: Collecting headlines from across the galaxy. I refuse to respond to the words of a moral peasant. That is, one who is bankrupted morally.
I'm rich, what else can I do to fill my time besides trolling these ignorant Hierarchy bastards? |

Just keep mashing together insults without any real arguments. It'll make you feel much better, while the rest of us actually talk about policy and politics.
Because obviously, wanting a strong Alliance/wanting to preserve all human cultures from homogenization is just the same as supporting Cerberus and being morally bankrupt. Thank you for pointing that out. First Sergeant Natalie King, 2/4th Marines |

Eventually, all cultures will merge, and science and the goodwill of sapients will prevail. That has been proven time and time again.

But I think I quite like it. So tell me, because I truly am curious, what makes me oh so deplorable as to never be spoken to? Is it because I have a great deal of money? You yourself are apparently quite well off and we both do philanthropic work. Because I'm rude? Well fuck you very kindly! A chosen medium does not necessarily disqualify points. Is it because I think Terra Firma wasn't inherently insane before their leadership decided to strawman themselves into oblivion? Many people do! And most of them don't advocate for forced deportation of all aliens. Is it because of my moody, slightly emo phase on the old boards? I-...well in all fairness then it's probably deserved. That's patently untrue. The interaction of different cultures is as much likely to result in culture clash and heterogenization as it is homogenization. People are different, cultures are different and that's not a bad thing. To demand we all become one culture is racist and is the sort of thing that does start wars. Perhaps "heterogenous" is a better term. Obviously, people will still have unique customs, but inevitably, there will be one government, one set of laws.

Sweet Mother of God, I hope not. Agin: our differences require different cultures, different governments and that's fine. I wouldn't want to live under the Hierarchy and I'm sure plenty of turians wouldn't want to live in the Alliance. First Sergeant Natalie King, 2/4th Marines |

In the end, it is most likely Democracy that will prevail. The Hierarchy will either bend or break. Just look at how it has to actively murder those that try to seperate from it, to the point that the oppression was so bad, they struck back at Taetrus.

You know I hahahahahahahaOkay Okay You know. I'm not even going to touch this one. I'm going to leave it to all the people who are actually from the Hierarchy to rebut. And I am fairly sure they will take oh so much pleasure in tearing that narcissistic, mass murder justifying shitpile of post apart. Sometimes, mass murder is needed to create justice. Just look at the Revolutionary War you humans had. BAM! Freedom was born, with a gunshot to some British guy's face. I may not support the killing of civilians, but the Hierarchy had it coming with Taetrus. Just like they had it coming with the First Contact War. A pity those Republics hypocrites stopped it before the humans ripped the Hierarchy a new asshole.

No. We didn't have a revolutionary war. One nation that no longer exists had a revolutionary war. Humans are not equivalent to American. Any 'justice' created out of mass murder is in truth crime and ultimately whatever you make out of it is fundamentally unstable. Just like to note war=!mass murder. And if we'd had a proper war with the Hierarchy? We would've lost. One battle between two fleets is not the same as full-scale war where the turians had us outnumbered and out-gunned. The turians are the finest military in the galaxy and they would've smashed the fledgling Alliance to little splinters. First Sergeant Natalie King, 2/4th Marines |

Let a tired war veteran dream of what could have been. The Hierarchy acted like imperialistic dicks ever since the Krogan Rebellions. The idea of them getting knocked down to size humors me.

Okay. I lied.
Reem Shikkzy wrote:Sometimes, mass murder is needed to create justice. Noooooo I'm ninety-nintey five percent certain that justice and warcrimes are mutually exclusive. Just look at the Revolutionary War you humans had. BAM! Freedom was born, with a gunshot to some British guy's face. What you mean the war of the Rich White Jackoffs With the Powdered Wigs? You know that they had slaves right? And that the infrastructure for the rise of democracy in the West during that period was originally conceived by Britain, had it's roots in older European traditions and was by no means entirely unique or endemic to that one country at that one time. It didn't hatch from the gleaming egg freshly shat out by a bald eagle weeping with pride. It's just a thing. And there have been a multitude of successful nations that are not democracies in any case. and had I may not support the killing of civilians, but You know, practically speaking, most of what you say before the "but" doesn't really count. the Hierarchy had it coming with Taetrus. There we go! Yes all those mothers, fathers, children, and families deserved it.My my aren't you just the little savage. Just like they had it coming with the First Contact War. A pity those Republics hypocrites stopped it before the humans ripped the Hierarchy a new asshole. We would be a client race. Full stop. There's...there's not even a debate on the subject. They would have broken us in half and our own government knows it. One must therefore be a fox to recognize traps, and a lion to frighten wolves. -Niccolo Machiavelli |
Reem Shikkzy I am what I am. |
Perhaps. But I'm not only an idealist, I'm also a realist. I recognize that the only way to stop the Hierarchy would be to attack civilians, because the Hierarchy itself has basically made a turian shield for itself, declaring "There are no turian civilians".

Remind me, how did the Taetrus conflict end again and what did those "freedom fighters" you're so busy lionizing ultimately accomplish?
