"Forty-two?"

"But that brings up another question-someone like Eluam would be a challenge, but it shouldn't take all of AEGIS. Not unless he's tipped off. How much of our operations are going to be based on teams vs deploying the entire organization? Are we..." He gestured around the room. "Even going to be in the same system. I presume that because you're introducing us...?

"Some assignments may only require one or two of our more experienced troops, or a single squad," Gorik explained. "Whereas a few may indeed require our whole strength. It depends entirely on the contract. As such, once we're at full strength I intend to have a presence on both Omega and the Wreck, splitting our forces between both stations."

"Currently we have an office on the Wreck,"
the krogan continued, "Left over from our stay there during the last year. Before the war we also had territory here on Omega, up on level 42. And that brings us to the matter Kaleb mentioned."

Gorik turned to the veteran AEGIS member who hadn't yet spoken.
"Bo, care to explain?"

Kross had been quietly examining each of the new recruits, one he was familiar with, the quarian Velte. The others, they seemed capable enough, though perhaps this next part could be considered part of the initiation.

"As they both said, Level 42 was pretty much our turf until the Cerbies kicked us out. Then after the war ended, we found out some frog swooped in and stole our territory while we were gone." He explained as his omni-tool brought up an image of the subject in question.

"Dolae Niha, head of the Vinay syndicate. For those unfamiliar, Vinay had caused trouble for AEGIS in the past back when Skinny Renard was still alive. Turns out the bastard was a Cerbie collaborator until his lieutenants found that out and spaced him. Niha took over in the power vacuum that followed and has been busy trying to rebuild the organization's infrastructure. Problem is, the guy overvalues his own worth and he's been picking fights with a couple rival syndicates. One of his lieutenants has hired us to take him out before he starts a full-on gang war."

He took a swig from the flask. "That's the gist of it anyway. Our contractor wants us to eliminate the frog quietly and bring proof of his death so he can take over. In exchange, we get Level 42 back, and he'll front some cash to renovate the Thar'van we purchased recently. I know, not exactly appealing when we're doing some gangster's dirty work, but we need to show AEGIS is back to take names. Any questions?"

"What are the building plans for Level 42? Might be helpful to have those on hand, especially if this is going to be a quiet operation." Velte piped up, turning her attention to the human now. "And do we know any potential threats we'd be seeing? Techs, biotics, that sort of thing?" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

"An' how subtle 'r we goin' for here?" Karina asks leaning back in her seat, "Cause that changes how I'm gonna 'pproach it. I mean if we don' care much 'bout subtlety here, I got some sweet fabricatable turrets I can bring 'long, kinda like them turrets Cerbie used. 'Cept these also have flamethrowers." Karina flashed a bright grin, it doesn't look nearly as innocent as it might have about five seconds ago.

"On teh other hand, I got some quieter stuff. Hack modules that could render base defenses and surveillance pretty much useless. Maybe even turn them on their users. Data spikes fer if we wanna bring summa their intel and cash back with us."

"And in case the main plan doesn't work, we can have a strike team deployed to the target's location to quickly eliminate the salarian before he can raise an alarm." This time when the asari spoke up, it appeared to anyone from Earth that she was speaking in a Thessian accent similar to someone from England.

"No plan is fool proof, so contingencies should be set in place to allow us to keep the terms of the contract fulfilled."

Ahkyn coughed before interjecting. "I understand that AEGIS needs to get back on its feet, but...bounty work? It seems a bit inglorious. Just a thought.
Also, before we start talking about back-up plans, we should have more of a main plan than "be sneaky and kill things." I trust all of your expertise, but I think we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves. You said that one of his own lieutenants hired us, yes? Could he sneak one of us in?"

"I'm fine with less glory and more profit."

"A man like that will have enemies who could help us arrange an assassination. But figuring out the situation will take time. Who's assigned responsibility for planning the attack? Who does each of us answer to?"

Impetus
"I think this is less about profit or glory and more about getting a foothold on Omega", the lone figure in the corner speaks up suddenly. His blue eyes shift between his new comrades of arms in the room. "It IS the unofficial economic capital of the shadier parts of Terminus, and anyone who has presence on the station is by definition a force to be reckoned with. Like, uh, s-sir here said--" Mika stumbles over his words a bit when he can't figure out what to call Kage, and that brings a red hue to his cheeks, especially notable due to his very light skin tone, "--that AEGIS needs to show that they are back. Notoriety brings contacts, contacts bring jobs and jobs bring money."

He really isn't comfortable around strangers.

Gorik turned to answer Yossin's question.
"We will plan the attack together. Think of this as your first field test. Ultimately I will oversee the attack, but I'd like to see what each of you brings to the mission as well."

"As for who answers to who, Gorga is in command of assault troops, Linala handles biotic and tech specialists and Bo covers auxiliaries and general combat troops. That's not to say you can ignore orders from any of them; but that way hopefully we have some concept of hierarchy."

Sorry for the delay, Kage is running the retaking of level 42 for us and is currently suffering from the flu. We'll get moving soon, but feel free to keep chatting amongst yourselves until then!

"Luckily, we already have a plan in motion." Kross said as he pressed an OT command, a holo-screen soon appeared bearing the visage of Cho-Myung Sun.

"Ah, Mr. Gorik, I see you have assembled a team already, excellent." Sun said. "I will keep this brief, Niha is meeting with a representative of the White Varren gang at his penthouse in the Eryat hotel. Ostensibly, it appears he's trying to get allies for his foolish war with Aliyev and Shu. This represents the perfect opportunity to eliminate him quickly, but you will need to infiltrate the hotel and his security detail to do so. Also, try not to cause too much of a fracas, this may be Omega but I prefer you not barge into the hotel like the Blood Pack. The meeting is scheduled tomorrow night, plan accordingly." Sun finished before the image disappeared.

Sorry for the wait guys.

"All right. Infiltration. That's easy enough. Hotel should have a service entrance, and a few of us could slip through there. I could go cloaked and maybe scout out ahead. Infiltrating his security detail will be easy if they're in hardsuits. Otherwise, do we know what the composition for his detail is?" Velte asked, looking to Sun.

DrawingFire
"From what Sun told me, Niha usually goes with no less or more than seventeen guards. As for the number, I'm told he is as paranoid as he is superstitious, mostly because he's himself seventeen years of age." Kross said as he opened another layout, that of the hotel.

"Way I see it, if we can get a couple infiltrators through these back entrances, and an engineer to shut down the power. We can tag and bag the HVT before they even know what hit them."
