Well, this was turning out to be an excellent trip to the doctor. Juhani's muscles tensed up just a little bit, anticipating a quick exit was soon in order before she would find good excuse to break her doctoral oaths...no, wait, did krogan even take oaths for becoming a doctor?
"Oh please Savara, I'm not that mediocre. This injury happened before your thread on the boards." He raised his hands defensively. "Besides, I've got plenty of scars I could show off if I really wanted to impress." Krogan women liked scars, didn't they? So they said on the Extranet at least...but then again everyone was individual with differing tastes.

Savara stared at Juhani for a moment, yellow eyes giving him a rather chilly once over. After a moment, she rubbed her crest, a bemused expression on her face.
"Ok, stop. What is this? Is this how you normally act, or are you mocking me?" The krogan asked, a confused annoyance plain to see. Her exposure to humans hadn't illustrated this kind of behavior, and she wasn't certain if this was normal, or he was just a crazy who needed to be thrown out. |

Cue alarm klaxons going on inside Juhani's head. This was going the wrong way and fast.
"Um...most humans don't act like this usually, let that be said. And I don't intend to mock you at all, but I see I've done a bad job at that." He fiddled his fingers nervously. The way things were, Savara seemed ready to kick his sorry ass out. He could either lie and get kicked out for good, or be honest and merely have major chance of being kicked out. "The way I'm acting is because I find you attractive! I mean, fascinating! vittu" Juhani swallowed dryly. The exit was beginning to seem so very, very tempting.... |

The female example of kroganity staaaaared at Juhani for a moment.
"...Ok, just because I'm curious to see this tomkah wreck reach its conclusion, would you mind explaining that a bit more?" As she said this, one of her hands edged closer to some of her surgical tools, not quite touching. |

She moves for the tools, Juhani creeps closer to the doors. At least this freak knows when he's overstayed his welcome. (and it's probably going to show on his bill as extra to boot)
"To put a long story short, I've been always felt attraction towards krogan, and while there have been many, many males I've met, meeting you has been the first occasion of seeing and talking with a krogan woman for me, so please excuse my stupefying behaviour. I promise to be better and not break any limbs as an excuse should we come to meet again. All the compliments I've said, I've meant them. You truly are a fine woman both by looks and I believe same will without a doubt hold true for your mind, should we get to engage in deeper discussion than this." Juhani looked straight at the krogan doctor. He'd be a textbook example of a person still undergoing the fight or flight decision, ready to make a hasty exit, yet at the same time too curious to see where this carwreck was headed to. |

Savara frowned, her mind unwillingly putting the short soft skinned human in compromising positions with the males of her species, the images not really to her liking. As a doctor, she wasn't entirely unfamiliar with mixed species unions, from a purely medical perspective. There were compatabilities in both species biologies, the act of conception not altogether different from the others, in the matter of fertilizing the eggs anyway. Physical attraction was altogether different.
"...How many males are we talking about here?" Savara asked, wondering how exactly this human deviant (Hierarchy member who likes to mate with krogan, deviant he certainly was) found attractive about krogan. Was it a matter of actual physical attraction, childhood issues, or just a fetish for other species? |

"Uh..." Damn, he had to actually count here. Takkar, the twins and that biotic krogan from the penthouse...Quad Squad's leads of four...Doc Tuchanka. Shit, he had almost forgotten him. His violent and untimely passing was clear in his mind again, showing briefly as distress on his face.
"That would be nine krogan I'm on first name basis so to speak." |

Savara blinked again.
"Nine?" She looked at soft, squishy little human, a her mouth parted in a flabbergasted gape. "Why? You're so breakable looking? Were they sadists, or are you a masochists?" She was not offended that the human had been with more men than she had. She wasn't. |

Wow. Juhani hadn't expected this kind of reply. It had been leaning more on the 'get out of my clinic before I gut you' sort.
"Uhhh...what can I say? Once you go krogan you can't go back." He fidgeted awkwardly. So there, it was out in the open, ready for Savara to rip into and tear into shreds."I think I've taken enough of your time already, doctor. I'll be just on my way now." |

Suddenly...actually, no, not suddenly, because we're dealing with an elcor. Suddenly implies some degree of speed and a fair amount of surprise, neither of which accompany the appearance of Dekuunan pachyderms, at least for anyone with a functioning set of ears. Anticipation certainly comes into play, and an apperance from patience would be welcome too, but Imminent Elcor is not an encounter to catch people unawares. Perhaps that simply makes it more irritating.
Presently, the impending elcor (and a most handsome speciman he proved to be) trundled with sure step and proud posture into the clinic, then stopped to appraise the scene before him. "Mild surprise: oh." The pause might have been awkward, then again it might simply have been a product of typical elcor reserve. "Slight irritation: I wasn't aware that the doctor was otherwise engaged. Should I wait outside? With intent to soothe: I hope I haven't interrupted anything". |

Savara opened her jaws to respond to Juhani, but those words were forever lost, as a second patient made his elephantine presence known. A pair of golden eyes blinked in comprehension, before shaking her head.
"No, we were just finishing up. Take car of that hand, Mr. Ragum." And don't come back. The flustered krogan doctor thought, before going through the motions, activating her check in padd, and placing it before the newly arrived elcor. "Welcome to my clinic. Please sign in your name please." She asked, her tone achieving a semblance of normality. |

It was such a shame. He'd really wanted to hear what Savara would have said...but that would have to wait for another time if such ever presented itself again.
"Yes ma'am, I will. Good day to you." he nodded politely and excused himself, making room for the elcor. Exit one bummed human. |

Perhaps the krogan doctor was flustered, given the speed with which she dismissed the human - even by biped standards it seemed excessively rushed. Or perhaps she thought he was flustered, although it's hard to tell with elcor; at least, it is if you're not an elcor yourself. This was a medical professional, though; who knew what insights she was capable of? Perhaps she was trying to make him comfortable, having picked up, somehow, on his tension.
At times like this, Xuumo-kalashasi was perhaps almost thankful for the barrier to understanding, the way in which he became a background (or foreground) feature to the bipeds, their limited senses unable to grant them insight into the full extent of elcor communication, conscious or not. True, it was disconcerting at times, disturbingly like being a hologram; you were present, yet always aware that somehow, whether others knew it or not, you were a ghost, a projection. But there were advantages to that sorry state of affairs, if you wanted to avoid embarrassment. He'd had enough of that today already. Were he among his own, as he instinctively longed despite having stood by his choice to stay here, his discontent would be clear to all. He'd stick out like a Huja bloom in a dry heat. There was a plus to the enforced privacy when you wished discretion. Would it even matter, given all that, if the human overheard? "Politely: Where shall I sign? The name is Xuumo-kalashasi. Explanatory: I'm wondering if you can help me with a rather troubling problem. One I did not wish to bring to the attention of the embassy. To be blunt, it seems I'm experiencing some degree of discomfort from my enforced loneliness; I know discontent at being alone is common in elcor, but with the shortages during the war and the aftermath....the relays still being rebuilt...companionship and comforts of home are lacking. Supplies of the usual dietry supplements, etc, are low too, as you are surely aware. Are you familiar with any available medication, or even natural remedies, that might ease the strain of enforced isolation among my own kind? Relaxants or some such? Any assistance would be appreciated". |

Samara, once more in her element, and with no human deviants to fluster her, gave the elcor a thoughtful frown.
Well, Xuumo of clan Kalashasi, I'm sorry to say that there seems to be a misunderstanding. My clinic is set up to treat physical ailments. You're problem, while no less significant, would normally be under a purview of a psychologist." She explained, even as she received his electronic signature. "While I do posses a few medicinal relaxants and supplements that might help, unless authorized by a trained psychologist, I could not simply give them to you." She paused, before activating her OT. "I could reccomend a few here on the station, if that would help?" |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Savara |
Disappointing, but then he should have considered this. He'd hoped a smaller clinic might be a little more relaxed about what it distributed, but he supposed the downside of finding a clear professional was that they conducted themselves...well, with professional considerations.
"Knowing acceptance: I understand, doctor. I'd be pleased to take recommendations". While he could probably function acceptably without help, he didn't want to risk embarrassing himself or being provoked to a show of poor judgement. The herding instinct was strong, and could creep up on you unexpected. It would be best if he acquired something calming, something that would help ease him into equilibrium. There was business to attend to, after all. He'd find himself back on the homeworld eventually, assuming all went well. Discomfort would have to be endured until then - but if he could take the edge off of it, it would certainly ensure things ran a lot more smoothly. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() SlowAndSteady |
"Certainly. And while I certainly can't give you anything that requires a presription..."
Savara retreated into the back, before returning with a crate that might seem excessive to most bipeds in size, but for an elcor, was just below moderate. "This might help take the edge off. Its over the counter stuff, but please remember that it isn't meant to be taken in excess. No more than..." Savara briefly scanned the elcor, before resuming her original sentence. "...Five an hour, at most." She said, pushing a list alonside the medicine over the counter.

Ah. So he'd been right to come here after all. Finding discreet assistance had been difficult, and the smaller, newly established clinics had seemed the better option. Part of him felt almost foolish, as though he were playing an underhanded game that was beneath his dignity, but then maintaining his pride was important when he felt like he did now. He was doing the right thing. Once his business here was concluded, he could resume a healthier lifestyle; this was a temporary inconvenience, nothing more.
"Gratified: Your assistance is appreciated, doctor. With slight abashment: I trust that I can expect your confidentiality and discretion. Respectfully: Age and wisdom to you". Clutching his new acquisitions in a paw, he lumbered slowly out of the clinic. |
