"Sounds rather familiar," Mirala replied, with the ghost of a grin, "my own turian father was the one who pushed me to keep practising with my biotics so I'd always have a method of defending myself."
With a tiny flash of blue in her eyes (stop showing off, Mira) Mirala shifted so she could lean closer to the screen without too much discomfort.
"I'd suggest you at least straighten out in your mind what you'd like to get across, if you'd rather not be too tightly scripted. I'm all yours for the next couple of hours or so, if you'd like a sounding board of sorts."

Miralatriarch
Daia smiled back, feeling suddenly heartened - that unexpected common ground, thinking of Mirala being the same kind of young asari she herself had been, learning from a father determined she would have the means to experience the galaxy without needing to go in fear of it, for an instant seemed to bring her close enough to the Matriarch that she felt she might have reached out to take her hand in gratitude. After all her reiterating to herself that Mirala was a person - however wise and respected - not merely some abstract title, it was the little details that truly made her understand it.

"That's good counsel," she agreed, nodding at Mirala's suggestion. "And thank you. Well... I suppose, first and foremost, I'd want to broach the subject in a way that... that gets us talking, together, about what's troubling us, and what we might do..."

She had been in Mirala's position often enough - not the authority, or the wisdom, of course, but so many times people had opened up to her in intimate moments, shared their worries. There weren't often simple answers, but a shoulder to lean on and a frieldy aural could go a long way - Daia knew how it felt to see someone weighed down by their troubles have that burden lifted, if only a little. She felt her own burden lighten, and hoped that Mirala would feel as rewarded in turn - whatever words of thanks she might be able to offer, that would be far better gratitude.
