"Well at least you were confident! For a while on Earth..." The asari looked troubled again for an instant then took a long sip from her ale. "I thought we were done for when at the last minute that blue light..."
"When we realised it was over we were all so relieved, we couldn't believe we'd made it. Then we found out the relays were gone... I wasn't sure I'd ever see you all again." Linala gave Bo another warm smile. "Made me realise how important you all are to me. As soon as they announced they were reopening the relays for commercial traffic I got the few AEGIS survivors left signed on as tranport guards so we could get back here." "So," she said, leaning back and looking Kage over, "How about you? Are you ok?" |

"Are you ok?"...How Kross wished those words were true.
"Depends on your definition of 'okay'" He downed another shot. "I guess you could say that. At least until the next war begins that is." |

The medic strode into the scene, shaking his head but smiling at the soldier. He had his chest piece strapped over his labcoat. The year in Terminus space hadn't eased his uneasiness about being in the Terminus.
"That's not a very healthy attitude Kage."he chuckled, showing the joke for what it was. He came to the table, smiling at the AEGIS members and their acquaintances. "You really think the universe is going to end, again?" He took a seat a ways removed from Kage and Linala, and settled in with a beer. |

Kross greeted Kaleb with a nod. "Well, maybe not in our lifetime sure. But, well, this isn't the first time the galaxy nearly got picked clean by an intergalactic war. Who knows? I mean, the rachni are back apparently, the flashlights are being allowed to travel beyond the Veil, and whatever that Crucible thing did to the squids, it didn't exactly kill them, now did it?" Yes, they had been very useful in repairing the relays, not that it helped ease his own suspicions.
He contemplated taking another shot, decided against it, let himself take a break. "Sorry, doubt you two came here for me to act my usual morbid self." |

Kaleb smiled and shook his head, tipping his beer in Kage's direction.
"I didn't come down f'r anythin' but a quick check up on a colleague, which I reckon is taken care of, and havin' a beer. Which I'm workin' on." He looked around the bar, then back to the pair. "'Sides I don't mean to intrude on the reunion." |

"No intrusion at all! My name's Archie and I was just here to thank a man who helped saved my sorry hide."
Kross's downtrodden look was upsetting. Archie could definitely sympathize, the war had been hard on everyone. But pessimism and drinking was always a bad combination in the medic's book. "But it appears our mutual friend here is a bit in the dumps. Look on the bright side! If history is any guide the galaxy takes centuries before pulling a galaxy-wide crisis like that. We've got more to fear from old age and air car accidents than the next Reaper war." |

"Don't be stupid Kaleb, you're not intruding." Linala scolded, slapping the medic on the arm in a friendly manner. "I as glad to see you as I am Mr Grumpy over here."
The asari gave Bo a softer look and squeezed his hand gently. "Listen to Archie; we survived and that's what you have to concentrate on. We lost people, but we're still around to remember them. And if the galaxy does go to hell again, at least I won't be stuck halfway across the galaxy from you lot again." |

Kaleb chuckled at the asari's reassurance. But nodded and lifted his drink at her comment about not being stuck away from the group.
"I'll drink to that." He smiled at his team mates. "Sucks we couldn't all be together in the final round but we're all here now." |
