Eh.... Hm...
Heh, I'll give it t' ya, Bitterskin. Technically the answer was 'Stapler' but close enough! Besides if I had said no to staple no one else would have even gone near the word. Yer turn, fella. AEGIS: Protection, Liberation, Vindication. We Help the Helpless |

This one's a little tricky, because you won't get it unless you're reading this in the language I'm using. And... I've sort of given it away, already, haven't I? Oh, never mind.
Here we go: The hanar has two, but they aren't names. The batarian has four, but they aren't eyes. The asari has them front, back and centre. What are they? Phraag is not pronounced "frog". It's not funny. I'm serious. |

Not even sure of my own answer here, but I'll try it.

A much more clever answer than mine. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Done. |

It is vowels, yes. It won't work unless you know the language, of course, but I was figuring enough people did. Your turn. Phraag is not pronounced "frog". It's not funny. I'm serious. |

Um...
A poor farmer living with his daughter comes onto hard times and is not able to pay his rent. His evil landlord threatens to evict them unless the daughter marries him. The daughter, not wanting to marry the landlord but fearing that her father won't be able to take being evicted, suggests the following proposition to the landlord. He will put two stones, one white and one black, into a bag in front of the rest of the townspeople. She will pick one stone out of the bag. If she picks the white stone, the landlord will forgive their debt and let them stay, but if she picks the black stone, she will marry the landlord, and her father will be evicted anyway. The landlord agrees to the proposal. Everybody meets in the center of the town. The landlord picks up two stones to put in the bag, but the daughter notices that he secretly picked two black stones. She is about to reveal his deception but realizes that this would embarrass him in front of the townspeople-perhaps not the best plan ever, you know? What can she do that will allow the landlord save face, while also ensuring that she and her father can stay and that she won't have to marry the landlord? Hrm, if she... I think this works, if she chooses one bag, but holds onto it and tips the other one out for all to see? Logically since the bag she didn't choose contained a black stone, she must have chosen the white one, therefore debt's gone, no marriage, and so on. The landlord won't challenge her, because forcing her to reveal what's in her bag would prove he was cheating.

Yeah, that's right. Your turn.

Where did the second bag come from?

Okay, she misread it a little, but the answer is still the same even if she holds the rock in her hand-she holds the one she took and has them check the one left.

I did too, yeah - I was thinking about it in the 'car without actually having the page open in front of me, I think I mentally mixed it up with how you play Call It (anyone else do that at school? With the black and white stones and the bags and you make gravity go sideways- never mind).
Alright, I consulted with Skylar again and asked her to not be quite so evil this time: A woman is appearing before a forum of law, accused of the murder of her bondmate. In final arguments the accused's advocate makes a surprising argument: "My charge is innocent, trusted citizens, for her bondmate is not dead, merely absent. In just thirty seconds, she will walk through those doors into this very hearing room." The advocate and accused watch the forum closely, as every member stares at the doors. After a couple of moments the advocate triumphantly continues: "Trusted citizens, if it truly was your judgement beyond shadow of doubt that my charge was guilty, you would have had no reason to watch the doors." The forum deliberates for only a very short time, before returning to find the accused guilty. Why? (Skylar would also like it on the record that she will slap anyone who tries that kind of irresponsible "showboating" - her word - if they try it against her.) |
Avulsion |
Oh! Oh I think I've got it. 'Cause she was watching the jury, and not like, bolting for the doors to see her alleged bondmate?
|
asari_promiscuity |
Exactly! Your turn.

Alright.
A guy is laying facedown in a field wearing a backpack. Nothing else seems touched. How did he get there? |
asari_promiscuity |
There are starting to affect my brain, the first thing I thought was 'Is it the field wearing the backpack, rather than the man?' :)

He parachuted from an atmospheric vessel.

asari_promiscuity |
But what's the- oh it's the parachute! I feel like an idiot now, I've even done a jump with one of those backpack-type ones and everything.
|
Avulsion |
Yeah, the parachute is the right answer. Next!
