If you'll indulge my curiosity - motel? I gather it's a kind of hotel, but what's the distinction? (Extrapedia just lists it as 'variant, orig. UNAS' under hotel, and the connection to local Terran sites that might have more detail seems laggy this morning.) Being an independent operation rather than part of a chain/franchise, is it anything like a UK 'bed and breakfast'? Just trying to get an idea of what to picture, based on the very little bit of experience I've had with Earth so far.

Yes ma'am, we do offer breakfast for our patrons as well as a place to stay, though my second oldest sister is the one who cooks, seeing as how I'm no good at it, I mainly just handle check ins and cleaning. We also have a small two story house on a hill overlooking the Motel, which is where we live, and our rooms are on a strip, the check in room is on the far end of the strip farthest from the road. I hope that helps appearance wise.

(I sympathise about the work, I wasn't overly fond of systems architecture - at least, at the plain implementation level - back at Academy. Much preferred the more esoteric assignments that tended to come out of AI theory and VI coding, although I didn't really pursue any of the hands-on courses beyond an introductory level anyway.)

Name's Kestrel; I'm a freelance pilot. Currently in-between jobs, so I've got a little free time to go with that lance. Sad to say the surveillance is going to be pretty boring; can't fit any porn on the old Omni-tool. Still, maybe a sortie story or two will make up for it.

As for badassery, well... I'm no gunslinger, and if I've got any biotics they haven't shown up yet, but I am good at what I market. Eight, jeeze, maybe nine years now, through the Invasion and everything. Should prove I know what I'm doing well enough. Not too bad with the Omni-tool either. But flying? That's where my passion is. Any dirt-siders out there want to know what the flyboys see, feel free to ask.

Anyway, to wrap it all up, I'm sorta floating out around Omega these days. As a favor, if anyone out here knows someone looking for a quick fighter escort, I'd be much appreciative you could point them in my direction. Or me in theirs. Maintenance fees are starting to creep up again.
