What I'm wondering - and this isn't really to the point of anything, but neither is the rest of the thread much - is do they know what their helmets look like? I don't mean 'unfortunate resemblance to something embarrassing' (like how the Cerberus logo... eh, that topic's been covered plenty already), just how in their advertising graphic it's all embellished and bulked up to look like a scary techno-skull in a heavy helmet, but the actual thing with that paint job looks like it's saying "...buh?"

It's not just me, is it?

Don't think they'd take an L3, huh? Well, your loss!

Daia,

The face-plate of a blue sun's helmet is similar to the Eclipse and Blood Pack variations- They're mass-produced units of personal protection that are easy to use, reliable, and fitted for both Batarian and Humans, which is a plus in the terminus. I've worn the model a few times- The faceplate is re-enforced, the 'eyes' can display multiple light modes- from a low/light stealth setting to the setting you usually see.

The helmet protects a man from getting fatally shot in the face- The way the faceplate is designed, kinetic force is shunted off to the side. It'll still break your nose and really mess you up, but with the addition of kinetic powered shields, you're doing a /lot/ better than some other helmet variations out there (particularly 'window' faceplate helmets, that allow a man's face to be seen and are protected by plexiform or transparent paneling.)

Where they make up for in kinetic protection to the skull and brain, they fall short in other areas. The one I had had an outdated communications suite that couldn't manage over twelve signals at once, plus it was a little big for me (that's not exactly a fault of the helmet, I was trying to masquerade as someone who had big shoes to fill)

So, to sum up, they're cheap helmets, they're reliable from getting blasted in the face. Good helmets!

Yeah, I'll have to echo what Vigilant said. Those helmets DO work, and they're pretty cheap from what I've heard.

Never used one, though. If I remember right, the most common complaint from people who used them reguarly is that the field of view isn't the best.

Peaceful life and liking it that way.

More like a dumbfuck who thinks that getting shot in the ass is something to be proud of isn't going to be put in charge of jack besides soaking up more rounds.

Meh, depend on what kind of kit you're working with tbh.

Archmagus, what armor premutation do you use, out of curiosity?
Do you have a favorite brand, or do the Blue Suns require a certain loadout?

...kay, in no real order

a. Why do you give a fuck?

b. Don't answer that I don't really care.

c. You know who waves around their gear 'n brags about their kit on extranet forums? Boots and shitty garitroopers who're proud of the fact that they can keep their rifles all nice an shiny an never have to fire them. Like seriously? What's the fucking point of batting around labels 'n brands besides going "lol look at this sweet thing"?

...Unless you want a recommendation or to talk shop or something. But seriously? I mean, you're a fucking pregnant desk jockey (and cerbie). I'm an actual soldier (and a turian).

So yeah, I don't really feel like having a long, involved chat with a person I don't like about gear that they probably can't or won't ever use.

This was a good laugh on an otherwise grey day.

Actually, another one: The logo on that turian's chestplate - isn't that upside down?
Or did he drop the ball or something?

I get the feeling that after this, PR is cannon fodder.
