"Oh that sounds mighty tasty. Mum is very able when it comes to the whole dextro cooking thing. It's awkward to cook without being able to taste anything - and also you have to take care not to mix stuff. There was a time when the multi cirality convenient meals were promoted big time but they didn't persist. I remember them tasting bland for either side." She shoved more boxes into the lift, her hands were freezing cold, despite biotics.
"So, I have beyasa sauce, but only partially self made I have to admit. I spiced it up with some dara seeds, the one from the store is so lame. But for the fruity touch I added Yemejame pieces. Speaking of hot food, when I was on Illium, I encountered a Krogan chef, Kaga. He had superb sinso sticks with a dip he called 'Tuchanca Rush' - and when a krogan tells you it's hot, its hot." She laughed as she remembered the days with Daia in the courtyard and at Kaga's. Too bad she didn't have time to go there with Freh'ya. "So just make sure none of your people by accident eats my stuff." |

"Oh yeah! The Beyasa sauce. I remember Neffila putting some of this into her food almost every time. It had a very unique smell. Nothing like I've ever smelled before. Not unplesant but still, very alien!" He really missed Neffila. Last time she heard from her, she was doing quite well on Palaven. Another vidchat wouldn't hurt though. "Oh don't you worry for that. We'll make sure to safely quarantine you in a far away room of the party during dinnertime." Tel laughs a bit louder, trying to make it obvious that he was joking. Last think he wanted was to intimidate or offend someone. "Don't worry about it. In a galaxy full of levos, we turians have learnt how to manage!" Tel moves another couple of boxes into the lift "Alright. We dont have many left. Should be done soon."
Kitchen. Several minutes later. Tel leans against the table, facing the dozens of boxes neatly stacked on the kitchen counters around the lifts opening hatch. The turian turns over to Taleeze "I'll be honest with you. I know that what we should do right now is to start preparing all of this and what not. But all this box carrying has made me work up quite an appetite. Would you mind if we had a brunch break or something?" He asks smiling. "Im sure no one would notice if I took a steak or two out of there..." |

“Uhu, sure” she replied to Telos’ joke. “If I don’t smell of smoke tonight, Freh’ya will not believe I was BBQ’ing and I’ll have to answer questions. So you better keep me close to the source of things!” she replied laughing.
~~~~~ In fact Taleeze’s stomach grumbled as well (It did often). “Sure, let’s have something. We should test-run the equipment, what do you say?” She opened her cooler, witch sat in a corner. A small cloud of fog rose from the cold interior. She picked another beer and a smaller filet, wrapped in a sheet of foil, along with the container of her sauce. She had already scribbled ‘LEVO’ on to the lid back at home. While they were preparing their things, Taleeze asked: “You miss Neffila? How’s she doing?” |
Tel opens up one of the smaller boxes. He carefully takes out a a steak, neatly wraped wrapped in semi transparent paper. He carries it over to the ceramic stove. Pressing a button on the cooker's display, tel places the juicy xemna steak on the hot red square that lit up in the middle. As the meat slowly cooked and slowly turned red from purple, Tel takes out a small silver coloured cylinder containing the turian hot sauce. The elaborate blue turian script on the packaging made it unlikely for any of the produce to be mistaken as Levo based. Tel pops open another Taetran Ale from the fridge. He leans against the counter and takes a look at the sauce while sipping from his drink "Should take a couple minutes till the steak's done. I think I'll give this a test-try too!" Setting the sauce bottle aside he takes a seat at the table, facing Taleeze.
"Oh yeah I do. Been several months since we last saw eachother. She decided to stay on Palaven with her husband Derrick. She's having a bit of a dificult time there as an asari. It's hard to get by on a planet where supplies for even the locals tend to be scarse, let alone levos. But she's managing. She says they've been helping many families and that's amazing." He smiles "Heh. She cannot stop expressing her pride over my admition to the CEF. Sometimes I think she is happier than even I am!" |
Taleeze scratched her rearmost le’ku.
She unwrapped her filet. The sea food was a very whitish meat with a hinge of purple. She made sure to place it at a safe distance from Telos’ steak. It hissed and steamed as it touched the hot surface. The smell was already wetting her mouth. “Good to hear, she’s well. My mum is helping to rebuild the archives on Lusia. Most turians that didn’t have extended family there have left for Palaven, she says.” In silence she wondered that there were so few incidents with mixed chirality food. “The CEF is a cool thing, we need resources and if there could some good old school space adventures be had in the process, even better.” It definitely beats going up against robo shrimps. Hm… she should have brought a Baycin Shrimp or two. Missed opportunity. “So what’s it like operating with the CEF? Are you on your own out there or in small groups – and did you already discover something exciting?” She took a sip from her beer and turned the filet, which had turned a nice shade of brown. |
"We have our fair share of freedom, but we are still given strict rules to abide by and specific missions to follow assigned by the CEF headquarters on the Citadel. There's a clearly defined protocol of action across pretty much any situation we come across. There's even a first contact situation handling guide! Before you ask I cannot tell you anything about it other than the fact that it exists." Tel grins. He opens goes over to the stove, opening a small drawer under it. He takes out a wooden stick with two sharp ends. Using it he flips his steak on its other side. "Spirits, that smells so good... Anyways, yeah. It tends to get a bit tedious sometimes. Especially the comm buoy laying procedure. You have to stop every second astronomical unit and leave a little deeping drone behind. Very tedious after a while. Not to mention how bad this stop-and-go process is for the engines. " Tel pokes steak with the fork a bit, checking if the inside has been cooked yet. "But we do come across some rather fascinating things indeed.
For example, a couple months, during a scouting mission close to Gothis, our long range scanners picked high paladium concentrations in a system about a lightyear away. We were ordered to fly there for investigation and came across a post-garden world. There was little to no complex vegetation and the air was barely breathable. There were no signs of city ruins or any other trace of advanced civilization, but the landing party found spearhead shaped obsidian stones." Tel takes another sip from his ale. "Our second officer wasn't very excited. She's never excited to the slightest actually. Said it must've been coincidental. An odd rock formation of some sorts. But our scientist confirmed the obvious. This was hand carved stone. Irrefutable proof of the existence an extinct primitive civilization!" The turian says with excitement. Despite having been a relatively modest person, Tel still took pride in having his crew make such a discovery. "We sent some samples back to the Citadel. Some weren't very impressed. Others desperately searched for funding for an archaeological mission to be sent right away!" "The news did not report much on this though. I cannot blame them though. The reconnection of colonies after years of isolation, families reuniting, all the turmoil in the terminus systems, the galaxy rebuilding... all this stands above a long gone culture at the edge of the galaxy. For now at least, most people don't care about the past. They have a brand new galaxy and a bright future to look forward to." Tel smiles to Taleeze. "The Cyan Sun did write an article about this though! So you might've heard about it if you read Citadel-based asari press." |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pilotlight |
“I haven’t heard about it, but I should look more closely in the future it seems. It’s indeed a bit of a shame, this is not more in the public though. There were mentioning of budget cuts, if I remember correctly? The scientist will love you for these fantastic discoveries but those who distribute the money will be more interested in mining possibilities. An archaeological dig can only slow down everything.”
She switched her own filet with very fast fingers, licking the hot juice from them afterwards. “Looking good here, how far is yours?” “I wonder how many civilizations and species are out there – or were – which we never will see. Look at the Raloi. We never even got a chance to get to know them really. But at least there’s hope. They could come out and play in space again in a century or so. Or you meet that example we have on CDN. Haven’t heard of her in while though.” “So, I don’t know what your status is but this filet is ready. I need a plate and some tools….” Taleeze looked around, trying to find something, but everything was stored away in this place. She took a sip from her beer, blinking at Telos. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Taleeze |
"There will be some budget cuts indeed. Most notably the Elcor are cutting back on their funding. They have few colonies and contact with most of them has been re-established so they soon wont be in that much of a need of us. The humans will be withdrawing several ships as well. Their territory is extremely spread out and they need to thicken their patrol forces in certain sectors. All in all there are cuts from everyone though. And it will hinder our efforts quite a bit. Fortunately or Unfortunately though, the process of laying out comm lines and seeking out resources will remain strong. That means that the whole blow will be taken by the scientific part of a project... Such a shame. Discoveries like ours will soon be much rarer it seems, much less anything akin to the first contact with the Raloi" Tel pokes his steak one last time, just to be sure. It was very juicy and there was still a little blood in the center. But by turian standards that was already considered a 'very well done' steak. Many wouldn't even eat it.
Huh... but what do they even know. "And yeah I have to say I hope so too. I am very sad that I did not to get and know one personally. But the exhibitions they had on the Citadel were truly facinating. You'd be surprised how many similarities two avian species like the Raloi and Turians have. I honestly did not expect it myself! Oh, you'll find some suitable forks in that drawer over there I think..." Tel lowers the temperature on the stove while grabbing two plates from the cupboard above. "Spirits, everything is sparkling in this place. The air filtration systems are doing wonders!" |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pilotlight |
Taleeze took a fork and a turian knife from the mentioned drawer. She remembered the meat cutter's style from their own home. Her dad used to have a set very similar in style, with a handle made of dark, polished wood and a very sharp steel blade with a saw segment along it. Just the right thing for a decent piece of meat.
"It's a shame of course but I can also see the reason behind it. It's a question of resources, finding new ones and deploying existing ones. But at least your ship will stay part of the fleet, so that's good for you. I think you really enjoy this, don't you? Probably more than being a part of the regular turian navy." She placed the filet on the plate Telos had produced. From her container, she added a small blob of sauce next to the filet. "So, where do you want to eat? There's that great looking kitchen table over there..." |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Taleeze |
With the hot steaming steak now neatly centered in the plain ceramic plate, tel cracks open the silvery sauce container he brought along. He slowly pours a small amount of the thick, glittering gold liquid over his deep reddish purple coloured steak.
"Oh, out of all the ships in the CEF, mine is the one least likely to be retired fortunately. You see, her class was specially modified by the hierarchy for these types of missions." He takes the plate in one claw while with the other he draws a pair of sharp trident-like forks. He turns his head to the table "Looks good to me! Let's go." The turian pulls one of the very elaborate wooden chairs. The back, armrests and legs were covered in all kinds of runes carved into the wood, in a similar fashion to the carvings on the walls. The carved-out parts looked like they were filled with silver. The effect gave off a very exotic feel to the furniture when combined with the general shape of it as well as the atmosphere of the surroundings. The table was in the shape of an odd rectangle. It's tick and rough surface was covered with a think piece of glass. Bellow it, another set of turian carvings decorated the table. Unlike the ones on the chairs though there were much less dense and more discreet, not drawing too much attention. This served the turian mindset when it came to food, as it should be the item that drew the most attention during the meal. No pretty candles, tablecloths or any petty little decoration that would give an overloaded baroque feel to the room during meal time. The food was in the center and around it all the attention must revolve. Thin silver circular patterns on the table indicated where the plates would normally be placed. To the human observer, these patterns reminded them of Earth's notorious 'crop circles' all too often. Everybody though is pretty sure that no turian wanted to turn 20th century human farms into tables... Tel places his plate at the center of one of the silver circles. He did it unconsciously, which quite surprising to him since he hadn't seen a similarly styled table in way too many years. The thought quickly escapes him though. "Oh yeah. Although I can safely say that my time aboard the Vectis or the flight academy on Edessan weren't anything less than simply amazing, CEF is a totally diferent experience. Just as amazing as anything else I've been through. But to be honest, servitude in the Hierarchy and being part of the CEF are two things that are too different to compare. You can't really put the thrill of action you experience in the Hierarchy and the feeling of total fascination and amazement you feel with every lightyear you travel with CEF on the scale. Both are experiences that I would never trade for anything else in my life, and above all have made me feel more complete. Nothing beats seeing the galaxy you live in from as many aspects as possible!" The turian pokes around the steak with his fork a bit as he smiles to himself "Oh well. No matter where I've gone though, I've always been given the opportunity to meet lovely and truly fascinating people!" |
Taleeze did exactly as Telos, taking a seat across from him. That table was an exceptional example and probably even really old. Her mum had of course kept some asari table manners alive at home, but she knew how spartan her dad had been with meals. Nonetheless he very much enjoyed mum’s cooking over that at the base.
Taleeze wondered what her mum would say about her new small family arrangement that was to happen if all fell in place. And somehow Taleeze had the feeling, it was going to be all good. A common meal for al four of them, prepared by her mum, that would be great… She put a reasonable amount of her sauce next to the filet which was oozing a bit of juice from a cut. After taking a bite, she mused: “I guess that’s also because an exploration fleet is greeted differently then a turian alarm legion.” Another bite with some sauce. “I have heard they might bring the Star of Athame to the Citadel. I can think of her becoming a part of the CEF. It would be very interesting to see such a vessel first hand. It only recently occurred to me that their voyage was longer than the quarian exile. Which somehow puts in perspective my life expectation.” She looked at her meet and paused. “I am still young, only two centuries and change. Who knows what else will happen in my lifetime, I mean, in greater galactic terms, like the geth or the Reapers? Sorry I am getting silly….” She chuckled and shook her head. “I am just thinking about these things a lot lately since I am going to be involved with a human…. She can’t wait and I feel like, I have to rush because she has only limited time. I have to calm myself down more. Again, sorry this is something that’s probably not concerning you at all.” She took another piece of the juice and delicious meat. Simplicity was the best sometimes. |
Tel carved a few cuts on his steak, letting the meat suck in and absorb the sauce faster. Crovax meat had a very sponge-like cellular structure, which gave it the ability to suck in any spices or liquids. This special little feature as lead to culinary wonders in the turian cuisine.
The turian sets his forks aside for a moment and looks at the asari across the table, smiling warmly to her. He didn't mind her sharing her concerns with him. Oh he didn't mind it at all. In fact, sharing personal thoughts and emotions was something he greatly enjoyed and sought during social contact. Though he had grown to respect everybody's privacy, his somewhat gossipy personality and largely asari-influenced upbringing has made him to value this kind of discussion a lot. "You know what I am seeing from what you're telling me?" He pauses for just a second to let the question sink in "I'm seeing a very deep connection between you two. One that you might've not grown conscious of yet." His smile becomes wider "See, you are worrying about the future. What will come next and what there is to expect in the short term." He leans closer to the table "This is how a human is thinking. Always anxious about whats next, eager to prepare for the unexpected and making sure to have the resources to be ready for whatever live with throw at him and adapt. It seems to me like your bond is so strong, that it now effects even your way of thinking! You asari have learned to live for today and not for tomorrow. In her lifetime, one asari will have to rebuild her home ten times over. And she'd never make the floorplans for the 3rd time in advance. Your kind cherishes every moment and saves it as a sweet memory to pass on to a loved one. As you live in an environment that will always constantly change around you, you dont have to live with the uncertainty that humans do. You know that the world will be different tomorrow and instead of worrying about how it will change, you just enjoy what the current state has to offer. Adaptation always comes naturally to you, slowly, often without you being conscious of it. What you'll witness Taleeze, is not in the future, but now. And it's gonna be the dawn of a new era for everybody. Your human bondmate doesn't want you to rush and you dont have to either. All you need to do is live this wonderful thing that love is. Just live it. Unleash your emotions and keep in mind that if you make this count, you will have the memories for a lifetime, no matter how bad things get. These memories will be that what will get you through it all in the end!" Tel pokes a piece of meat with his fork "Oh, and don't you worry about it. I am always eager to discuss anything you want!" The turian smiles once again and takes a bite from his steak. |
“Oh there is a deep connection indeed.” Taleeze had to laugh a bit. Telos really had it to the point. “We tried braking up – basically I did, because I had to go for Freh’ya but it didn’t work. Wasn’t meant to be, when I first met her again after that we looked each other in the eyes and saw we couldn’t let go. So there you have a triad in the making, and I am so lucky Freh’ya isn’t even mad at me. In fact she’s much more curious about our soon-to-be family member it seems. Social contact for her is still… problematic after the troubles she has gone though. PTSD is weird and can show in many ways.” She laughed dryly. “I am sure I have my own share of that. Aren’t we all a little bit damaged after this experience? So yes, seeing her channeling energy and being positive about it is something that’s even more liberating.”
“So that’s me, beginning a new stage of my life basically. You know there’s an asari saying about triads.. ‘A table carrying fruit and flowers only stands stable on three feet’. There’s something to that, don’t you think?” The filet was tasty and Taleeze had another chunk. “In a way I think I am just getting old enough to understand a few new things about my life. The soft smile my mother was applying so often makes much more sense to me now. It’s kind of a time of turmoil we are all going thorough and I just… I just want to make it count for someone who doesn’t have as much time as I do. She’s amazing though since she probably has even more patience in many things than I do. Skylar has been living among asari such a long time. I somehow think, she’s the older one, isn’t that funny?” “I look back into history, see what changed. In a way it’s a fact that after all the big caesurae, like the rebellions, the rachni wars. There always was a longer period of peace and rebuild. So there’s hope. I want to see changes for the better, a more peaceful galaxy. But maybe it’s just me being a hopeless romantic.” She chuckled. “There are still people who seemed to love conflict and aggression, that will never change most likely. It’s a shame they can’t see what I see, I have to witness so much destruction and pain in my life, I really want to cherish the beautiful times I have even more and make them last. Okay, forgive me, that sounded more depressing than I wanted to. Thanks for listening.” The next to last slice of meant went into her mouth and she washed t down with a sip of beer. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Taleeze |
Tel smiles once again "You know, the very fact that she as a human is willing to get involved in this is quite big all by itself! Humans have a saying of their own that goes exactly against what you said. They say 'Two's company, three's a crouwd'. So believe me, you have one special and kind human in your hands." The turian takes a second bite from his meal. It tasted really good. And it only took a few minutes... "As for the time... It might seem to you like it's too little. But for her, the time she has is more than enough. And with the Freh'ya, she will know that you'll be with someone good. She will be happy no matter what. You don't need to worry. All that there is left to do is enjoy the happiness that you three will give to each other. Even if the galaxy has more pain in store to throw at us all... your table will remain stable!"
Tel's ale begun getting somewhat warm. He started drinking it a bit faster. The last thing he wanted was to end up with disgusting warm ale. "Depressing? Oh like I said, I don't mind at all! In fact I'm enjoying this. I love hearing other people's thoughts and be given the opportunity to cheer them up whenever possible!" |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pilotlight |
"I know, she indicated she had troubles among her kind and was considered a deviant even by some. I have the strong feeling I can make her life more complete and that's what I am aiming at." She made a pause and took a look at her last piece of filet. "It's not egoistic, I hope. Freh'ya deserves all my support and love, and she gets everything I have but I can't do it alone. I... it drains me sometimes. I feel happy when either of them is around and i look forward to having them both together, like a family."
She ate the last piece with all the sauce. "What about your family, Telos?" She expected nothing good from what she had heard earlier but it seemed appropriate to ask now. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Taleeze |
Tel's mandibles shut tight. He awkwardly looks down onto his plate and pokes his steak with his fork
"Well um... Neffila, our maid that brought us, she is doing great. Her bondmate and newborn daughter are on Palaven at the moment. Assisting with reconstruction and everything. Palaven isn't the best place to be at the moment. Especially for a non-native. She has to wear an envirosuit almost all day and keep little Talya in doors. Her bondmate, Derrick is having some trouble with getting a honorary discharge but as soon as that will be done they will be moving to a better environment for child upbringing. None of us is sure where that will be though as of yet. The Citadel seems like the best option for now, but the lack of a sky is a big minus." Tel didnt really want to talk about his parents. He still felt guilty. Even though he now knows his brother's fate and his soul is in peace, he had barely started bonding with his biological family when he lost every single one of them in an instant. Without even saying goodbye. Neffila has been more of a mother to him and his brother than anybody else. The fact that she was still here with him was the only thing that kept him going. The fine manners and positive outlook to life that Neffila taught him as well as the energy, humour and liveliness he learned from humans have become vital parts of his personality that kept the bitterness of his early life safely locked away... |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pilotlight |
Taleeze of course noted the tense reaction. It seemed like a dark chapter of sorts and something he was very reluctant to talk about. It was obvious, his asari nanny meant a great deal to him and seemed more important than his actual parents.
“It’s good she stacks with his husband. Palavan is not the nicest place to be right now but it will get better. It has gotten better already in fact, we tend to forget that, since as it is at one point, when the improvement seems to just come not fast enough anymore.” It was a bit of a stretch but overall still true, the same for Earth or Thessia. She put her fork down and pushed the plate a bit forward so she could lean in onto the table, focusing him, cocking her head. “But what about your real parents? You never mention them. Do you want to talk about what happened?” Duh, no he didn’t. But sometimes you just needed someone to actually ask. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Taleeze |
Tel's face somehow always looked kind of cheerful even if he wasn't visibly smiling. This wasn't really the case anymore though. Telos grew evidently more upset as dozens of thoughts about his family crossed his mind as he was asked to recall them.
"Well. As you might've read in some silly Illium or Bekenstein-based lifestyle magazine, they are all dead. Both my parents and the extended family altogether. Everybody whom I've come to know. I won't go searching the family tree and tracing gene lines to spot distant relatives off-world so yeah. You can say my whole family has been killed. You might be wondering why you'd read something like that in a lifestyle magazine. Well, do you know several wealthy turian families called Mallenis?" Tel asks with a rather sarcastic attitude. This was quite an uncommon thing for him to do. The turian suddenly leans a bit over the table, taking a closer glance at Taleeze's omnitool "Is that a G-LX 5050 ultrahigh-speed fabricator module that I'm seeing in your omnitool?" He sits back to his seat straight up. "Developed by Gladus Electronics. One of the largest and most profitable divisions of Gladus Industries. The company that once formed a part of the backbone of the turian private sector." Telos lets out a heavy sigh and takes a big gulp from his drink "Yes. This house is property of the Mallenis family." Tel lifts his arms, looking around the room "And I am probably the last survivor of the Mallenis family. And as you can probably imagine my dear friend, two powerful people at the steering of a giant, like my parents, wouldn't really have much time to dedicate to their children. And when one of them is misguided, confused and in great trouble, they would be more concerned about their public image rather than bringing their little son home safely." Tel tilts his head to the side a bit "Looks like any nanny would give me and my brother a better upbringing." Telos breaks his cold stare for a little bit and looks down onto his plate again, casually taking another bite from his meal "Some would ask me why aren't I happy that they are gone then. Well, a couple years ago, after a dozen years of virtually no-contact, we begun slowly paving a way to establish a connection that should've existed but never did. Guess what happens soon after. Palaven is bombarded from orbit and every single chance I had of having a normal family and not standing out of the crowd at least in one way is taken away from me." He just sighs again and grows quiet. He'd never speak to a friend -especially a new friend- of his in such a cold and flat manner. But he couldn't really handle it with such a large amount of emotion breaking free. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pilotlight |
So that’s what happened. It sounded harsh and probably was even harder. Asari were used to one side of the family passing away at incredible speeds, asari were used tobe left behind.
But that was probably totally different with turians. “That’s a really sad story, Telos. I feel really bad now. Just beginning to reconnect and then… That war destroyed so much. I have oncles and aunts on Palaven.” Taleeze always said that but of course the relation was more distant by now, several gerations. It was an asari custom though and it sticked with the faster living family members. You never get past uncle or auntie grade. “A lot didn’t make it. We had small remembrance celebration, scattered as we where all over the galaxy. Of course that’s not your league, Telos. But I am afraid the galaxy does not wait. It still has things in store for us, planets to discover, stuff to do, people to take care of. We are those who got away to build a new day. Don’t you think, it’s a purpose? Look at you, what you do is grand in scope. Your Caption to a crew of fifty something. They look at you like to they dad, to take care of them.” She slowly extended an hand across the table. He sure didn’t look like the man to endorse such emotional displays but she couldn’t help it. Her hand touched his talon. “Make the intention you had count. Make it count the road was a good one although higher powers prevented you from completing it. They will always live on in you and it’s for you to shape the picture. And you have your nanny and her family. Make a difference for them if you can. Having a distant family is hard. It takes away something that is essential to a kid. But sometimes it’s just too late to realize it. Maybe your parents were beginning to understand.” |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Taleeze |
Tel just lets out a big sigh. In the past, once someone got him talking about the difficulties in his family, it would be very tough for him to forget about it and move on with the rest of the day. He'd just sit there and dwell on it. Damn himself and regret everything that he did and shouldn't do or the things that he should do but didn't. He just wouldn't let it go. Not until he has well over a couple of drinks and long, quiet sleep.
But now he really didn't feel like this anymore. The kind words and support that Taleeze gave him were enough to make the stress, guilt and bitterness slowly go away. It might be because the image of the happy, zany, optimistic and always energetic and positive turian started becoming more and more part of his personality's core rather than a thick shield against the pain and resentfulness he felt. But it was mostly probably due to the fact that he no longer had to live with the doubt. He didn't have to think over and over if his family actually loved him deep down or if his brother is alive or dead somewhere. Though they were all gone, Telos could finally have peace in him. Knowing where his brother is and what his family felt. The pain still persist. But in a different form. He himself realises that now, all he has to do is mourn them for as long as it's needed. Time will heal it all. Tel extends his arm towards Tal's over the table, taking the asari's palm into his talon. " You're right... Thank you Taleeze. A lot" He smiles warmly, lifting his head and looking at the young maiden. "You know, I've never really thought of it that way... Heh. It's funny. When I was first assigned to that ship I didn't seem to fill their eye. The situation was kind of awkward for a while. I guess it's mostly because most turians aren't really used to extrovert people like me. To such extent at least!" Tel chuckles. "But yeah, the ice melted eventually and we all warmed to each other. I guess you could describe the relationship like that. I do care a lot about each and every one of them indeed." He smiles to himself, thinking about all the people aboard the ship. "You're a very nice person Tal. Really." |
