Marine Found Dead In London Ruins
by Bridget West, Union Post LONDON - SATAE officials have today confirmed that a body found by construction workers yesterday in Administrative District 02 is that of Second Lieutenant Carlos Suarez, a decorated Marine who received the Navy Cross during the Reaper War. “He was an...inspiration to a lot of us, came up through the ranks, didn’t forget what it was like being a...grunt on the ground, never asked more of the men than he was willing to give himself.” Stated Gunnery Chief Al-Musawi in an interview with the Post. “He got us through the...War, he got us through London, and to just die here, like this after all that. It isn’t right. It isn’t right, he deserved better.” As tensions rise between Alliance marine detachments based within the city and independence-minded groups such as the Citizens for a Free Earth and the Democratic Solidarity Party, the Prefect of London, Lieutenant Commander Lisa Bryner, held a press conference earlier this morning urging calm and restraint on both sides. “I ask that everyone allow the Investigative Service to conduct their investigation and bring Lieutenant Suarez the justice he deserves. The last thing London needs is more violence.” Thus far representatives of the Systems Alliance have declined to comment on the condition or state of the body when found giving strength to rumors that the killing had been ritualistic in nature. When pressed for an official statement by the Post a spokesman for the Prefect’s office said that “the investigation was ongoing” and he did not have the authority to comment on the situation further. I think the ritualistic shit is about 50/50 BS or Legit. If true, it could be actual Reaper Cultists or someone trying to cover their tracks. More likely, I think its Separatists. Ah yes, blame the separatists. Just like the rest of the Marines in this city who have chosen to show their discontent by beating up nationalists. I'm sure you've cracked the case for the Investigative Service. Lady, I don't have anything to say one way or the other I'd just like to point out that you're arguing politics with a kid who... yeah. Just saying. |

Kid who... Finish the statement don't dick around.
Anyway, I think it was likely Separatists. Y'know, the ones with the most motive to want the Alliance out of London. Who aren't all charming and intelligent "nationalists" like yourself. If stating that as a probability is idiotic, what does that make you? Kickin' Ass and Takin' Names Ten Years Running. |

If stating that as a probability is idiotic, what does that make you? did you just use the 'but what are you' insult? Because honestly, if you want the extranet to believe you are an N6 of all things, you may not wish to use that. You have jumped to a conclusion without a shred of evidence. Like many Marines in this city. Any tensions between the SAMC and nationalist groups (yes nationalist. Civic nationalist before you start crying fascist. I fought for a nation that has been uncharitably wiped from existence) is due to idiots taking out their grief on Londoners. The Prefect appears unable to control her own forces. |

Alright then, kid who's got a username like N(ot quite)7 (I mean really) and should probably be in bed by now. I mean look, okay, it was kinda cute at first I'll give you that but you're playing it up too hard and it's just, it's just wearing a bit thin man. I mean I don't really hold anything against people who exaggerate a bit or want to just mess around and have fun pretending to be someone else online (your time, use it how you like, in my opinion really) but honestly at least take it easy on all the posturing. |

First off you're the one who who started with the childish insults so don't give me that crap.
Secondly, I stated it as a possibility. It isn't any hard and fast "This is 100% True" conclusion on my part. And it's a viable possibility at that. I find it questionable why you can see fit to give me shit for stating my mind but not everyone else on this thread. Throughout this unnecessarily bitchy exchange, you decided to insult me instead of calmly giving your opinions. Thirdly, I laugh if you say that Marine-Nationalist shit is squarely on Alliance Soldiers. Sure, Marines have started shit but I find it hard to believe that none of your fellow citizens started things as well. Especially if they are all as friendly as you. And even good Commanders can't keep every single grunt in line. There's always people out of line, expecting total control is naive and stupid. And AllSaintsDay, with all due respect, you couldn't be more wrong. Look up my name, the whole damn thing is a matter of public record. Or hell, ask Palmer. Any other Earthbound Ns if they're on here. I don't really post here that often and I fail to see how any of what little I do say can be interpreted as "Yar, Imma kill you with my omni-chainsaw bayonet, and my double-bladed Omni-Staff cuz I'm a Biotic Spectusticar. Afterwards I will down Ryncol and make love to hordes of Maiden Asari, *headbutt*" Maybe it's cuz I'm not a self-critic but I see no posturing (maybe a little, but still) If I was a Kid, I'd say I was N7 who lead the charge on the Beam and shook Shepard's hand. Even Spec Ops guys can have a sense of humor. It's called having fun. i swear half of this board are off-the-wall crazy and the other half have sticks up their asses. Contrary to popular belief SA don't classify everything. I was part of a Marine/Local Resistance in South America. Again look it up, mostly your standard Ground War nothing controversial or sensitive for it to be secret it was also too damn public.

You don't just become an N because you did something badass you moron. There are shitloads of badass marines who are not now nor will ever be Ns.Look up my name, the whole damn thing is a matter of public record. Or hell, ask Palmer. Any other Earthbound Ns if they're on here. Now I don't think you quite understand this. N means Special Operations. Special Operations means you're doing hush hush shit. Which means that what you're doing is not a matter of public record. Plenty of shit normal everyday grunts do isn't put on public record let alone what Spec Ops get up to. So to summarize: 1) Nobody believes you're an N. 2) Nobody cares what you think. 3) You're an idiot, a twelve year old, or both. 4) Shut up until you have something intelligent to say. |

Again, I find that extremely bitchy. And for no reason. Like I said, ask anyone who was in South America during the War, I was there. I didn't say I was N because I did something badass, I am N because It's my rating and I worked my ass off for qualification. I hope to get 7 rating soon. I was a background poster since the old board, and real honest-to-god Marines knew I was legit. Hell, people knew I wasn't lying since I re-applied a month ago. Only now do you people seem to think I'm pretending to be N for no discernible reason even though this board has a history of other Spec Ops guys running around, even freaking Cerberus and STG Agents! You people just love putting words in my mouth. I'm looking back and besides my usual bravado I detect no over-the-top showboating or bragging, or outrageous claims. Everyone seems to think Spec Ops guys can't have a laugh. Or that we don't cuss, which is ridiculous. Everything I've ever said about the Marines Corps is perfectly logical and in line with reality. What makes you guys think I'm lying, besides reading into the tiniest things and blowing them out of proportion? And to my non-N rated brothers, I respect the crap out of them 'cuz I know Ns can get full of themselves.
Also, just because I'm N doesn't mean I'm doing secret shit all the goddamned time. Pre-War, I was mostly running counter-piracy and patrol out of the Einstein nothing terribly exciting, Ns aren't an Omnipresent Black Ops group like most people think. In between special missions, we did "routine" crap. You had 7s like David Anderson just serving on ships and fighting a regular war during First Contact. The crap-up on Sidon was extremely secret and now everyone knows about it. The shit on Fehl Prime was fucked up and everyone knows about it. And Hell even Shepard's career was well-fucking known (before Eden Prime and during the goddamned War) and she was top tier N7. In the 21st century you had people with cameras running around with Spec Ops like the Green Berets. The shit I was doing was not secret shit. Especially not since I was fucking stranded in the middle of a Warzone, during a Big-Ass Squid Invasion, in a highly populated Continent. Again, nothing cloak-and-dagger happened, we got dragged into a big fuckin' Resistance that the entire continent heard about. Try maintaining OPSEC after that. Again ask Palmer. Or hell Navarre if he's on here. Santos too, though she's a bit scary. If anyone's willing to meet in person, I'll prove it beyond a doubt. Besides that, I'm done wasting my time explaining myself. Either you believe me or you don't. End of Story. Kickin' Ass and Takin' Names Ten Years Running. |

Okay, yeah you had me going for like half a second but alright. Look, kid, I don't mean to come across as rude (actually yeah I do a bit at this point) but a couple things. One, Admiral Anderson and Shepard are both icons on a national/gal scale, so yeah, people are going to know more about them, it's going to happen. Same with large scale events like Saren and even you know, years after, most guys don't know anywhere close to everything that happened and probably won't for years still. And, like, the military has so much classified stuff I don't even. You don't tell people shit if they aren't cleared, not dates of deployment, not full unit name, not movements. Not if you're basic enlisted, especially not if you're SF (and I'm gonna bet that even like, two hundred years ago govs were redacting stuff up the ass). Like, if you were SF and you said what ship you were stationed on, what you were doing, and the timeframe like, uh, you just did your CO would a. have a letter of reprimand in your record b. docked pay c. probably the threat of demotion to top it all off assuming that it wasn't outright enacted because OPSEC is OPSEC is OPSEC, and OPSEC is serious shit no matter what. So yeah. Don't believe you, and saying that you'll "totally meet me and prove it" doesn't, uh, exactly help your case. Look kid, I appreciate that you like the military, it's a good life, done right by me. But seriously. This is just stupid. |
