[Citadel] Auld Lang Syne

“I'm doing fine... great even,” there was the sound of him getting up, “doesn't she share?” He asked with a chuckle, “anyway I'm up for something, where do'ya wanne rendezvous?”

"Ew, I don't want drell boys." Trex looks up. "No offense. Wrong..."

It occurs to her that just because she keeps it in the species doesn't necessarily mean they can't find her attractive, and for some reason that thought weirds her out. Her mind is getting expanded a little too quickly to be comfortable tonight. She finds herself missing Nex all the more for the familiarity he provides.

"Um, sorry, and can you tell Nex where to meet us? He's mostly got public transit figured out. Mostly. But if it's too far off the lines, ask Tango to drive him."

She holds out her commlink.

“Drell?” there was a clear sigh to be heard, “please ask that drell girl to stow the attitude, I just want to relax not to get put down, by miss know-it-all.”

Itzen chuckled meanwhile at Trex' voicing her opinion about drell boys, “no offense taken, besides that just means Kay gets more of us.”

Hadas was the one who took the commlink. The group could only hear his part of the conversation.

“Nex, this is Hadas, Kay's husband.”
“...”
“Yeah one of the boys”
“...”
“Yeah the one with the son.”
“...”
“Thanks, Listen I–”
“...”
“The other one's called Itzen, he's our boyfriend”
“???”
“Yes Kay's and mine...”

“Say 'hi' from me.” Itzen said.

“He says 'hi'.”
“!!!”
“Nex are you still there?”
“...”
“I thought I lost you there for a sec”
“...”
“Anyway where you now?”
“...”
“I see, well it's simple, get to the ground floor, move to two blocks presidium-wards, go spin-wards for three blocks, take the green line and get of the fifth station, it's a terminus so you can't miss it, go down the stairs take the blue line for one station, still spin-wards. Get on the red line now and go twelve stations, get up, now you can just get there by going above ground and just move three blocks counter spin-wards but they're busy construction, so what you want to do is stay one below ground and just go through the gallery. Just follow the flow past the Galaxy of Awesome shop and Vol Bank branch, until you reach the red service...”
“...”
“Oh you just want the address and you'll find your own way, sure can do. It's club Calypso, block 1700 Tayseri ward.”
“...”
“See you there... I'm going to return you to Trex.”

Hadas gave the commlink back to Trex before he returned besides Kay.

“Hey Trex?” the voice was louder now, “I'll get there as soon as I can.”

"FYI, they are both gorgeous, poky person. And I hadn't said anything yet!" Trex was probably safe, because Kayana had never expressed interest in a single female person.

When they were done their conversation, Kay rolled her eyes and elbowed. "Drell directions. I remember a set that included the phrase "Walk until you've passed five intersections on your left side, the one you want has two seams in the pavement."

"Great," Trex says, "looking forward to seeing you there."

She clicks off, then gives Kayana the big pleading eyes. "Can you just pretend to like him? He's having a really hard time lately. He went home and...I guess everything he knows there is gone. He says he hates the Citadel, and I know it weirds him out, but if he came back here, it's got to mean this place is the best thing he has left."

She says "this place," not "me." She suspects Nex has come back for the hall, not for her.

Which really puts her in a tough place, doesn't it? She knows he doesn't love her, that he's not looking for a wife, and to be fair, she's got a big decision in the next year and doesn't need a husband complicating it. Or kids. Which then begs the question: what should she do with Nex, knowing it's not going to last? Have fun, like Kay did with her hanar boyfriend? Or wait, like Sicaria did when she was with the Hierarchy?

She'd rather forget it all and dance.
