Proof Of Concept Heal, repair and transform the galaxy.
Everything on this board has gone through a few suboptimal translations. Maybe he had 80% of suit sections with some degree of compromised.

I'm not sure how technically adept you were before-but as much as possible, learn how your new body works. It'll make things a lot less intimidating. Back up your settings before you make any changes, and give yourself plenty of time to adjust to any changes you make.

Everything Silver Future said is true-and stop looking down on nerve stim. I hate that so many quarians look down on it, it is going to be the difference between an extremely limited erotic life and a very fulfilling one. There is a particular suite of programs you are looking for, one that can map 'attachments' on to your existing mental map. What's the highest reviewed one right now? Ah, here we go.

Interestingly, it was originally designed for/by a transgender man, but all the reviews are by war veterans.

Yeah, Des, I think I just told the whole board that I'm a pervert, given that that was sort of my biggest deal, I wasn't much to look at before the accident and I thought it had just gotten worse, who'd want to sleep with a guy who's mostly robot. You know, before I knew that BodyWerXXX existed.

Anyway.

That Guy, I apologize if you're asexual or otherwise uninterested - maybe you could be a bit more specific about what your major concerns are?

Also, everyone else who's asking him for details on his accident, shut the fuck up. You know how soldiers are traumatized if they lose a limb or get a really big scar in a visible place? Yeah it's a hundred times as bad when they have to replace most of your body. There's nights here I'm sitting in the back of the room shivering but be damned if I'm going to get anywhere near that fucking fireplace. The second I feel the heat on my receptors it just starts creeping me out. Don't make a guy relive that shit, it's just fucking cruel.

No, I told the entire board that I'm a pervert. For the purposes of this conversation, you are the object of lust, not the person lusting.

Anyway.

No.

Okay. Well, I guess the main thing is the numbness. I mean, it's not too bad, it's manageable. I don't have to be looking at something to pick it up, for example. But it's just kind of like... you know that feeling when you're feverish and the world seems to be a bit further away than it should? It's like that. The monitoring cables are coming out soon, so I'll be allowed to get up and walk around, so... yeah. Big step. Hoping to get some help before that happens.

And for the ancestors' sake I am a quarian, of course I'm asexual. If you people don't stop being creepy and talking about sex and attachments and nerve-stim I'll... I don't know, leave the thread. Or report you. Or something.

Okay, yeah, the numbness is disconcerting. Now, I'm coming at this from a position where the numbness was a step up from the previous relentless agony, but yeah, it's weird and I can see how it would be disturbing. Realistically, things are probably never going to be "Exactly like they were" so your goal should be to get things to a level where you can function comfortably doing everyday activities. Now, the good news is, it will get better - once you're recovered, there will be time to test and tweak your sensory program to your nervous system, and while that process is trial and error, it definitely improves your ability to feel things.

...Eurgh.

You. People.

If it's not "hey let's debate the mechanics of your horrible bodyscarring injury 'cause lol I'm bizarrely biased against transsapients and full conversions" it's "let's talk about electronic dildo settings and where I like sticking my dick".

So yes. Moving on.

That Guy wrote:Heh. You know... I might actually think about that. Once I'm done with recovery and Nitasha lets me walk around on my own that is. I mean, you know, not like the weird looks can get any worse. And I haven't really bought anything with my new salary so I have a bit... yeah. I'll think about it.
Mmmmmmmhm.

...Apologies you can't tell but I'll have you know that I'm looking at my screen rather smugly. Is that a dash of self confidence I spy? Quick. Club it. Club it like a baby seal on ecstasy. Club it alllll the way down. I'm afraid that common law Citadel regulations mandate at least two to three weeks of Roman Catholic levels of irrational guilt followed by no less than twenty four hours of moral agonizing. You, my friend, have a serious backlog to work through before you can feel good.

But seriously, good on you.

But, uh, yeah. Can someone double-check C-space policy on Relicae's for me please? I don't want to try and go on a holiday and, you know, get turned away at customs for being a deadly weapon/geth platform in disguise.
C-Space as a whole is...a tad schizophrenic on the subject matter. Anything that could be classified as military grade needs to be noted in your passport and provided you supply proper documentation there is technically nothing they can do legally to bar your war. However (and this is a fairly major "however") Customs and Immigration can be archaic regarding someone with a liberal application of cybernetic and/or genetic augments. Temporary detainment. Searches and questioning. The like.

This largely stems from the fact that a lot of the more radical transsapient procedures have traditionally stemmed from the Greater Terminus. Thus, historically, they have something of a bad reputation in C-Space despite numerous people (the Commander included) being loaded down with enough alterations to rival anything from extra-Citadel space. But, then again, they generally take some pains to pretty it up as it were. I get away with a fair bit because the vast majority of mine aren't prominent in most circumstances, something like a Relicae's? Well, frankly, it depends. It depends on what kind of officer you get and what kind of caliber documentation you have to sling their way.

Part of that's going to fade with time, and the rest with action. The organic brain possesses an enormous degree of neural flexibility and plasticity. It's simply a manner of retraining it to process the data from the frames like it would your organic body. The span involved is, well, enormously subjective but rest assured it will pass in time as you become more accustomed to the chassis and the mechanics involved.

Now, if you don't mind, How the heck did you get a medical plan that covered full-body replacement, and just what the fuck did you do that required that to be done?

Well... on the bright side, I've been wearing a suit my whole life. So even subpar's better than what I used to have, right? So, uh... yeah. I get to sit up and walk around tomorrow. We'll see what I can do then. I really hope I don't fall on my face.

I have no idea what 'Roman Catholic' is but I think I get the idea. And... yeah, you're pretty much right on the money. >> (I'm well enough to type now, yay)But, um... thank you. It means a lot.

Well, on the plus side, my new body is explicitly medical. It's white and everything. So if I get some documentation from Nitasha or [R] I should be okay. Kind of. So, um... I think once I'm well enough to get around on my own, I might go to the Citadel. See the sights properly. You know, sans visor. And with money. And not living behind waste recycling units.

... so in perspective, getting detained doesn't seem that bad.

Knowing my luck, it'll probably take forever, but... still, thanks. It's nice to know that it's not forever. I mean, I'm typing already. That has to be a good sign, right? (I refuse to comment on how much autocorrect I'm using.)

'My employee'. Has a nice ring to it.

Um... anything from Nitasha on the subject of my leave? I mean I know she's nearby but I don't want to bother her with the call button if it's not an emergency...
