Harkoul smiled at Sugar, nodding at the two women.

"Sugar, Sili." He chuckled, catching the raised eyebrow. "Not used to augments?"

Harkoul
"I guess your colony must be well established for it to have developed its own customs. Please use whatever you feel most comfortable with." before chuckling at Xees, "dude, just relax."

"I know I am impressed, from the look of things they do good work there." Albert made a not to himself to see if he couldn't find a way to invest in Valkar.

Sorry, I am ahead of things! I should wait for flash of light to react to the question.

Another Batarian arrived just then, panting, with a wide smile on his face.

"Hey guys! It's me, Bintar! FourEyes! Sorry I was kind of stuck in the line, it's great to meet you all! Check this out, I have pastries, I learned how to do [TRANSLATION ERROR : Did you mean "blood cupcakes?]!"

He took a seat while unpacking red pastries, glowing at the assembled party.

"You're most welcome FourEyes," Albert said, "glad you could join us... the pastries look delicious. You better be careful with them, I don't think the owner would appreciate someone serving their own food in here."

Hey Dippy, it's not a big deal or anything but I figured with Albert being a diplomat and all there is this thread here.

http://www.cerberusdailynews.com/valiant/forum/board/thread/?t=1716

Valkar is the second entry. Like I said, doesn't really matter, calling it a colony or anything, but just in case anyone wants more ammo for discussing his country at all. =]

Gotta get the little one to a Dr's appointment so I'll be back later to post, just thought I'd put the nation's info in here in case anyone doesn't mosey into the VL or nation building thread much.

"Yes. Although I do not post often. I find following the conversations entertaining enough." "Yulti" scanned the people seated at the table, or more like recorded as it did so. Harkoul got a short nod and greeting as he joined the table.

"Sugar, you seem to be familiar with Isadore. Does he visit your establishment often?"

All this time, it had sat there neatly, not lounging back or laying arms on the backrest of the seating (and on people's shoulders), respecting private space of others.

Flash of Light
"Serving pastries to Aria." Xees chuckled at the mental picture.

Mex's attitude perked up a bit when the krogan left and the quarian walked to the table. She had always found the species 'interesting' in that whole what do you look like and you can eat the same food as me oh wow.

"Um... Hi. Nice to meet you Yulti. I'm Me-- Uh Sili", she said. Her mandibles flexing into a nervous 'smile'.

The batarian also got a raised eye...plate. But she only nervously looked away and didn't respond to his query except for a mumbled "No. Not really. They are pretty cool, I guess", at his question. She didn't really know him all that well on the forums (she couldn't remember everyone now) but batarians were, uh, not her favored race.

Then another batarian walked up and she noticeable cringed a little when he announced himself: the slaver. Snapping out her awkward 'quarian' induced trance she turned to Sugar and hissed. "Seriously, Sugar can we leave now? There's a fucking slaver here now. Come the fuck on!"

Albert raised an eyebrow. "You know Bintar?" He looked at the batarian and back at 'Sili.'

"Not to worry, I am sure he will not do anything too rash."

Diplomatic Immunity
He smiled and nodded at 'Sili's comments on his arms. "Thank you. I also think they are pretty 'cool'. It's funny, coming out here and seeing so many people without augs is odd to me." He shrugged. "In Valkar the majority of our people are partially synthetic. Complete conversions to entirely synthetic bodies aren't uncommon either."

Baram greeted the new batarian with a noncommittal nod, raising an eyebrow slightly at the 'slaver' comment from the turian.

"Bintar."

Looking between the human diplomat and the slaver, Baram gave the former a quizzical look.

"No offense meant, of course, but I'm surprised at how easily you take the fact that this man is apparently a slaver in stride. Most humans, and really most people in general, have a strong aversion to slavery and those who practice it."

Harkoul
Hm, the quarian hasn't given his handle. Maybe he was the shy type, the way he sat was also a bit distanced and restrained.
"He's around occasionally, yes. He met there with his daughter for the first time, it was a kind of a cool moment." she replied to Yulti. Sugar also remembered those two asari meeting at the place as well a longer while ago. The Periwinkle had a bit of a tradition there by now.
"He never makes trouble and likes my drinks I guess."

"Hey Bintar", she greeted the batarian. But she raised an eyebrow at the translation for the pastries. "Ah, not... right now, thanks."

She bent over and whispered to Mex: "Stay calm, girl, he's not going to raise a fuss, just relax. You're on Omega, not on the Citadel." She gave her tensed back a little rub and ticked her glass to that of Mex to engage her to take a sip.

Then she turned to Harkoul.
"I am very accustomed to them, I run a bar myself and you know how the joke goes: What has thirteen arms and eleven legs? A gang of twenty on Omega." She giggled a bit.
"Nice work though, they look top of the shelve."

Sugar
Bintar's four eyes widened at Albert's remark.
"Ho Goddess, I didn't think of that! Well, we'll just keep them hidden and secured under the table like so... Anyone can pick one up if they want!"
The slaver did just that, and took a bite on a cupcake, the red warm filling pouring in a rather graphic way in his mouth.
He turned toward Mex and gave her a red, toothy grin.
"Don't you worry miss, I'm not one to bring up business into a friendly meeting!"

Isadore walked out of the hallway and back to the table looking a little pale. He sat down with a grunt and eyeballed the newcomers while he pulled a silver flask from a pouch in his armor and took a sip of the brew. He seemed to perk up, but he still looked haggard and pale and there was a small gash on his cheek, slowly oozing blood that he didn't seem to notice. His eye lit up as he noticed the batarian with the synthetic arms.

"Nice equipment, who did them?" He asked, gesturing to the synthetic parts and seeming genuinely interested.

He shuddered and took another sip from his flask, a rosy glow spreading into his cheeks and accelerating the slow drip of blood from the cut.

Isadore
While "Yulti"'s lone ocular was covered by the hood, it could still easily see what was going on in infrared through the fabric. All the muscle movements, subtle gestures on Harkoul's and Bintar's faces, Albert's quizzical expression, Sili's twitchy smile and Xees' chuckling, Sugar clinking together her drink, one big glob of cool fluid in cooler glass, with Sili's own.

Social group interaction between multiple species. This was excellent data. However it could not just stay outside of it, participation demanded input from "Yulti" as well, or it could end rejected and removed from the premises.

"Amusing. The criminals are all missing limbs, are they not?" it spoke, adding a forced-sounding chuckle at the end. "I heard this joke from a turian and it went like the following: Do you know what is turian's best asset in a roleplaying game? A die for the Cause." more less than genuine laughter followed.

It stopped however when Isadore made his return. "You are injured. Do you require treatment?"

Flash of Light
Albert shrugged ever so slightly towards the comment of Baram. "I am a diplomat, I would hardly be able to do my job if I acted outraged every time I met someone whose, disposition was antithetical to that of the government I represent. It would make talking difficult."

Albert took a sip of his drink, "Yulti, I was wondering about something if you do not mind me asking but do you have one of those suit rider?"
Link Link Quote

Diplomatic Immunity
"Yes, there is one in here. Why?" Flash could easily handle both, but there was a risk present. The social interaction routines had not been tested sufficiently enough. The acting od Yulti'Sano's part could give away the disguise with disastrous results. So it waited for Lowell's follow-up.

Flash of Light
"Interesting, so what does it think about us organics for example what does it think about The Systems Alliance and our 5 year plan and execution there of?"

Diplomatic Immunity
"Oh shoot, sorry Suitrider, whatever-your-name-is." Avulsion perked up-this actually sounded interesting. "Does your suitrider ever talk for you when you're tired or pissed off? Or do you ever talk for the quarian?"

Avulsion
The batarian nodded to Albert's response, giving an approving nod. "A wise stance for someone in your position.

Baram then nodded to the krogan as he rejoined the group. "Thanks. These were done at Medlab V79, back in Anjul City. But the parts are Varshad Industries."

He looked at Yulti, giving a small smile.

"Ah, a geth? Just talking with you has made me the envy of no small number of people back home, I'm sure. Nice to meet you as well, of course."
