Hadas gives Kay a squeeze. “We're in it together.” He adds with a smile.

“Spirits, I thought orgies only happen in movies and stories and stuff like not real.” Nex suddenly blurts out. Clearly, he's not so much grossed out as fascinated by these people. Itzen can all but chuckle even if he's mildly uncomfortable by being stared at.

Nex omnitool dings just as Hadas wants to mitigate the situation before the Sundwoner thinks it’s a regular thing. The young turian frowns and looks towards Trex before entering a message of his own.

Of course I want another warrior watching my back and listening to my bad jokes.

He flutters his mandibles for a second and hits send.

“They look like a nice couple,” Itzen says while watching Vindi and Arx dance, unaware that such a statement might get him even more stares.

Trex facepalms. He wasn't supposed to say that out loud.

Still, she can't help but offer Nex a smile. Maybe he isn't what she wanted him to be, but maybe she needs to learn how to accept people for what they are.

...Except Arx. Right?

Trex gives being fair a try. She really does. "He's friendly. Polite. The kids love him, he loves them. Knows where Vindi came from, doesn't care. Buys her stuffed toys and generally treats her like...like..."

Then Trex blurts out, "Idon'tthinkheunderstandsheratall."

She looks to Kay for support. "It's like that hanar guy you used to date. He was nice, but I totally can't see you....being you, doing what you do now...and still being with someone like that."

"I am unilaterally ending this line of conversation!" She laughed.

""Yeah, he would have had to changed, a lot. We broke up. But dating him was awesome. He was smart and funny and wicked. I learned so much. And even if he didn't quite get the Drell rights stuff, he got the Shepard stuff. And the Alienation stuff."

She rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. "I don't want to encourage you, but yeah, probably not her future spouse. Did you see the [lemon] face Vindi made when he told her she should get out more?" She sucked in her cheeks and throat folds, doing her best to mimic the mandible gesture on divergent anatomy. "But for the love of the gods, don't try and hasten it along!"

“Well not that I'm doubting the Chief's judgment, but I hope she kicks him out soon. He does work in logistics though, so maybe she can use him to smuggle some stuff on the Citadel for the cheap.” Nex mulled it over in his mind, “hmmm, probably won't though, he looks too much of bootlicker to do so, he'll probably try to get the Chief to be even more 'civilized'.” Civilized was spoken bitterly, and clearly used as an euphemism for 'falling in line with the (unwritten) rules of the Hierarchy'.

"Maybe." Suggested Kayana, flicking her eyelids at Nex. "She can learn to deal with a guy being into her and how to have sex without it being so..." What was the word she was looking for? "...fraught."

Trex feels surprisingly relieved. It had seriously never crossed her mind that Vindi and Arx wouldn't have a huge wedding, a bazillion kids and live bootlickingly ever after.

"I think I might be a romantic," she says quietly. "Help."

Then she cracks a wicked grin. "But if you guys are wrong and she marries him and I have to wear gstupid flowers in my fringe, you owe me a keg of ale. Each."

It's true, though. With so much of her view of the world so hard, how did she end up such a romantic sap about relationships?

She looks around the bar...the pounding lights, the pulsing music...and wants...

Wants her daddy.

The fact that Notras Khutonax is a most improbable father figure is no deterrent. The next chance she gets, she's going to ask for some father/daughter time.

“You Romantic? Spirits... ya're not going to try lock people up in a room so they fall in love... right? 'cause I've seen movies about romantics and it's a thing they do.” Nex affirmed his statement with a nod.

“I'm gonna get another drink, anyone want anything?” Hadas said as he stood up.

“I'd like a Piña colada, and ask if they put one of those tiny little umbrellas in them... they're cute.” Itzen said with a smile.

Hadas
"Get me a coke, I'm like, alternating drinks."

She lifted her glass in the air. "And I am with Nex here. No locking people in closets, no counterfeit love notes...Don't think there's any need for flowers or ale either, but everything in moderation, right?"

Are we at the end?

Trex rolls her eyes. "I solemnly swear not to do anything I ever saw in one of Mr. Harrad's movies." She shoots a look at Vindi on the dance floor. Arx seems to be pleading with her--Vindi sidling uncertainly.

If love sucks, she just hopes it sucks for all her family equally.

I think so, unless anyone has any more ideas?

Hadas returned with the drinks, and sat back down. "Here they are." He hefted his own drink up, "To good friends."

"To good friends" Itzen echoed.

"good friends... and their crazy love life" Nex added with a grin.
