Or withdraw their support and declare Open Season to anyone interested in raiding, but I trust SATAE will not take such...drastic measures.

Hey, isn't that what they want?

NOTHING!
Alternately, they blockade Eden Prime until capitulation.

That capitulation may be a long time coming. Eden Prime is a fertile planet and not likely to run out of food supplies. Sanctions like that would devastate the economy, but there would be no starving out the populace. History shows plenty of examples of stubborn nations refusing to budge under economic sanctions for a long time and in the meantime Earth is deprived not only of cheap Eden Prime resources, but ANY Eden Prime resources.

The Alliance would have to be cautious about just how strict it wanted to be.

Diplomatic Immunity Human diplomat who travels the galaxy to promote goodwill and friendship between all sapient species.
I remember a time when most threads resulted in talking about turian separatism, quarian issues, salarians complaining about how over-sexed non-salarians were, human versus turian culture. It now appears the new recurring issue will be the human 'separatism'.

... I have not really anything to add, just feeling a bit of nostalgia.

Well, look at the upside. None of the irate human colonists have blown up any trains.

Yet, maybe, but so far no hypocritical train bombers!

But I've a rendezvous with Death
At midnight in some flaming town,
When Spring trips north again this year,
And I to my pledged word am true,
I shall not fail that rendezvous.
