I think you humans have something called Ad hominem. Seems real fitting here August. I don't trust the slaver worth a damn either, but you have to admit, for a species that consider slavery being a natural part of the society he's pretty humane, earnest and well-meaning, as far as slavers go. And he had a point.

Eventual human unification war?

Would be interesting if you folks started painting your faces too, for real.

An old human saying says "Oh no not I, I will survive
For as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive!"

Very wise those humans were.<3

That's alright mister Tanner, we've all been through a lot in the Reaper War, it's bound to leave some scar, let's just forget it ::)

Don't joke about something like that! That's horrible! Everybody has it hard enough thanks to the Reapers, we don't need something like a civil war on our own species making everything worse! How can you find that prospect funny? Is there something wrong with your head?

I... what? Jesus H Christ dude, who crawled up your arse and died? I mean, seriously, where the fuck did that come from? 'Wannabe murderer'? What!? Terra Firma? Fucking hell, I am not in sodding Terra Firma. I hate those guys. I'm not a human supremacist, at all. In fact I was uncomfortable with us getting bumped up to the Council way back when.

You aren't Terra Firma? Would've surprised me, seeing as you basically just agreed with their party line. Hell, you went further, you said that you wished the Reapers killed all the batarians you pathetic dumbass. The only reason you aren't Terra Firma is because it would expose you for what you really are.

A bigot, a pathetic, moronic bigot lacking in the, admittedly negligible, brains you were born with. You have lost the moral high ground against a slaver.

I'm just going to go ahead and expand on that for everyone to see:

As far as this thread is concerned, August 5 is morally worse than a slaver. Where 4eyes espouses slavery, some of a voluntary or punitive nature, as opposed to rapacious pillaging of random planets, he has tarred an entire species with one brush and then expressed that you wished they had all been murdered by the Reapers.

This wasn't in response to someone espousing the same about humans.

This wasn't in response to someone talking about how burning human colonies is awesome.

This wasn't in response to someone saying they wished Balak succeeded.

This was in response to someone saying that Balak existed.

He's a pathetic, immoral fuck who doesn't even have the balls to admit that they fit Terra Firma best.

Here's a question a lot of people are probably asking right now.

How the fuck did you lose the moral high ground to the slaver, you maniac?

Their job is literally stripping sentient beings of their most basic freedoms and exploiting them for profit, and you somehow fucked the pooch on that one. You are a bigger asshole than Mr. Shockcollar.

"RAH RAH FUCK BATARIANS RAH RAH" could have been put in a better way, namely without the wishes of genocide. Shit, they're not vorcha.

Geth. Nope.

Good idea, SATAE would have to show what it does with the tax money and where so people can have an informed opinion.
I mean it should take pressure from the like the whole economy for something basic like the release of the OER report to the public.

Sometimes I just have to shake my head. You're fucking paranoid, mate. The Alliance spends it's money on rebuilding, providing essentials to civilians, supplying its troops and if there's some left over, attempting to pay its war debts. You know, that huge bill it ran up trying to defeat the Reapers? With a ruined homeworld, billions needing some sort of support and the mother of all fucking debts, you would have to be a complete and utter moron to spend taxes on anything that isn't in the long term interests of 'the public'.

And Admiral Hackett is not a moron.

You can call for transparency all you like but you seem to fail to realize that we're not a fucking police state. People still have fucking rights.

You are so, unbelievably wrong. If you don't believe how uncomfortable most people associated with Terra Firms make me feel, how much I disliked them even before all their policies boiled down to straight up racism, well, I'm sure you won't believe this either:

For the record, I'm aware how what I said looked. It was a rather sizeable error. I'd apologise, but I already know no one still reading this (except maybe the slaving fuck how started this, ironically, goddamn are you irritatingly polite). By 'the Reapers didn't do a thorough enough job', I wasn't advocating genocide. At all. I don't have the words to tell you how, after we all spent six months facing it, appalling that idea is to me. I just meant they missed one, that if one less remorseless slaver had been killed, the galaxy might have been a slightly better place. I believe I already said if that had been in the place of some innocent kid on Khar'Shan, so much the better.

It was a horribly misworded sentence, I see that. I won't deny that I said in the hopes of kicking up a shitstorm. I was just hoping it would draw at rage at the guy who sells sapient beings as chattel, rather than me. It seems stupid now.

But you won't believe that, because you've got me figured out, haven't you? One stupid outburst and you've got my whole life and world view down. I won't waste an apology on you, because you're pretty obviously the kind of guy who doesn't accept apologies. Funnily enough, I actually agree with you there. No matter how genuine the sentiment they convey, words alone can't undo past misdeeds. If I wanted you to accept my apology, I'd have accept those of all the Cerberus cowards who ducked out before the shit hit the fan, and think saying sorry just wipes out what that organisation did (after all, I wouldn't want you adding 'hypocrite' to your list of charges against me) and I can't do that.

I'll try and make this clear. I don't hate batarians, I hate slavers, terrorists and anyone who tolerates either, who sits back and allows them to continue when they have the ability to do something about it. The sad fact is that before the War, that was a hard line to draw.

Oh for God's sake... It was a hard line to draw because those were the only batarians I was exposed to. The Hegemony was so closed off, there were barely any batarians in Alliance space, or on the Citadel. When I was growing up, if a batarian made the news on Terra Nova, it was because another colony had been attacked, or a civilian starship raided for slaves. The only time I had that view challenged was a by a couple of guys on this board, or the odd trade partner in my freighter days, and by their own admission, they were unusual.

I had my view totally changed during the War, by the refugees on the Citadel, I promise you. I guess old ways die hard...

No, enough. You've made up your minds. I won't dig myself any deeper.

This is where we use logic to deduce that if a society was only made up of individuals that did that, it wouldn't work due to a lack of doctors, teachers and vending machine repairmen.

The post August_5 is so desperately trying to run fromHey fuck off blink! You fuck right off! It was your slaving, terrorist, fuck-ugly species that nearly laid waste to my home so don't you of all fucking people dare accuse any of us of having a short memory. We haven't forgotten, you batarian shitstain. You know, at the time, despite everything, I thought it was a tragedy, what happened to Khar'Shan. I figured the vast majority of your people can't have deserved that.

Now I'm starting to wonder if the Reapers didn't do a thorough enough job.

August_5 For the last twenty years or so, your species' primary exports to the galaxy at large have been slave raids, piracy, terrorism and the occasional merc. Maybe that's fine by your value system, but by mine that's a pretty big fucking series of dick moves. Hence, 'slaving, terrorist...

I would like to note that you have basically been exposed to exiles of the state and casteless. While slavery is indeed part of the batarian culture, part of our Order, I would like to remind you that, until very recently, the average, law-abiding citizen of the Hegemony was forbidden from leaving batarian space.

In addition, most batarians tend to prefer batarian slaves, for a wide array of reasons ranging from intelligence to the amount of training involved.

Thus, those you have met are most certainly not representative of the whole.

Forgiveness is a hard Path, and few wish to Seek it. Those that do know Courage, and Honour, and should be Blessed with a chance to receive what is Sought. The Ascendancy that has replaced the Hegemony on Khar'Shan is not as intolerant of other species, and much like your peers advocate for those who do not understand Earth's plight to see it first hand, I might offer the same to you, upon the ruins of Khar'Shan, so that you might see the People for who they truly are.
