Hello again everyone. Its a pleasure to see all the familiar faces that managed to survive the war. Around the end, things really didn't look good, but we're here and that is all that matters.

But the reason I'm posting is, well after the war, Muck and I decided to do our part in helping reconstruction by starting up a support group. Originally, we would just deliver supplies to people who needed them for the Alliance, but as we grew, we expanded our operation a bit, and along with aid for clean ups and restoring architecture, we're partnering the G. Red Cross set up and resupply medical aid.

Right now we're situated in the Local Cluster, but now that the relays and com buoys are back up, our little operation might grow and and help further restore the rest of the galaxy.

To that end, we're looking for more members, either volunteers or full time members, to join our cause. We're open to everyone, and we'll be sure to find a place for you where your talents can be put to good use. Failing that, we're always looking for donations, either in currency, or much needed supplies.

I'm rather curious, what is it about the organization's name that seems to have attracted this amount of controversy?

name is taken from an old human religious military order charged to protect pilgrims. they got dissolved because everyone owed them money and didn't want to pay up, so they got a lot of false accusations thrown against them and they've been one the most culturally misused icons in human history ever since by everything from mass murderers to video games.

Whatever you do, always remember to rock the boat!

If everyone owed them money they weren't very charitable, so maybe you should have included "amateurish charities" on your list of things misusing them?

Alright, this does help clarify some details. It explains both why the human has named his group after this "Templar", and also why some appear to take offense to it.

Though it would seem his heart and intentions are noble, if so, why would the name matter?

Gestran, shut up and suck on your meds for a minute. I'm not in the mood for you to be our spokesman right this very moment

Charged to protect pilgrims, sure, but also fought in the Crusades.

Like, I'm sure the charity analogy works, but for a lot of people, that's not the first thing that springs to mind, you know?

If they shut down because everybody owed them money, it really doesn't.

I'm not sure how much we can provide, but I do believe my company may be able to provide some support to your work. At the very least we should be able to offer you some discounts on repairs, or we may have some excess supplies which we haven't already sold off. I can't be one-hundred percent sure until we can get our records straightened out.

I do agree with some of the others here as well, you might want to provide some clarity about the name of your organization.

Happily. There are two possible answers, and both are true. For example, there was once an organization you might have heard of that once said its goal was to protect all of humanity. In reality, they ended up betraying humanity, and screwed over the rest of the galaxy as well, by sabotaging our efforts and murding people by the thousands in the middle of the war to end all wars.

That organization also shares its name with this forum, and might even have ties with its origination. And yet, despite the near universal disgust that exists for Cerberus, people, most of whom are not human, frequent this site a great deal, and chat on a variety of subjects, most of which have nothing to do with human superiority.

A provocative name gets attention, but in the end, thats all it is. A name. Actions decide how people will judge us.

A far more personal and admittedly honest answer is that during the last day of the war, my wife and I, the founders, found ourselves with a large group of people in a temple. Three months earlier, we'd been married in the exact same spot.

At this temple, we fought alongside people of every race against wave after wave of Reaper forces. We were mostly civillians, and we persevered, and more of us survived that onslaught than we deserved.

It stuck with me, how when it seemed we had no chance, that so many people could put aside their differences and work together.

So, later, we named our group Templar in honor of that very moment.

That's the real reasoning. Take it as you wish.

Touche. I stand corrected.

Saoirse LotI here, Aka Seamus.
You need a full-time doctor?

Full-disclosure, I'm in the midst of massive depression, but the med's keep me going. I can do my job, at least. Regardless, it's been suggested more times than I can count for me to find something to do with my sorry self now that the Alliance has no use for me. Some volunteer work may be just what the doctor ordered.

So to speak.

"PM To Saoirse"Yes, we could certainly use a full time doctor. But I do need to see your credentials, and have a better understanding of your condition and your medication. We'll be discrete, of course, but I do need to know if, say, we put you on assignment, there wouldn't be any danger if you were cut off from your medication for a period of time.

Understandable, and quite a fascinating story. I'd love to have some more details sometime.

I've sent you the information to contact my Operations Manager. He should be able to set you straight. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.
