The Unoffical Absence Thread 2.0

Again I'm not dead but it was probably foolish to think I could be back. I'm not having a good semester and right now I'm sick.

Also the dates for my candidacy examinations are out. For anyone who doesn't know, I'm trying to get a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and to be allowed to pursue my degree I have to pass a 4 day long test from hell. I failed my first attempt due to a lot of shit I'm not getting in to and I have this one more chance or I have to leave. As of today its in 50 days and I just don't think I can deal right now.

Apologies to Gunny and Sica and Kim I know I have stuff planned or you want to plan stuff with me. If you'll indulge me and still be around in mid-January I will be back then.

Thought I should let you all know what's up. I miss this place and I love you all. <3

On the road for the holidays starting Nov 28. Back Dec 3.

The Internet has gone out for my entire town (don't ask how, I don't know). Even 3G goes in and out despite full bars. I don't know how long this will last, but I'll be back as soon as possible.

I have a karate training camp this weekend, which also includes the belt exams. So I probably won't be around that much.

Along with the demands of my new job, in about three weeks, along with the traditional Christmas oriented chaos, my daughter is expected to be born on or around the 21st. Muck and I are going to one even less as a result. Maybe we'll lack the time to be on much at all, which would be a shame, but an expected one.

Its...going to be the best christmas I've ever had, I think. And, before I inevitably get swamped, I wanted to let you all know that I hope all of you have or will experience what I'm going through right now.

Because I'm a young, dumb wannabe writer, who despite the odds for an antisocial geek like myself, fell in love, and and I'm going to have children with the person of my dreams. Its not going to be perfect, because thats not what life is about. But its going to be good enough for me. And while I suspect some of you don't think very much of me, and maybe you're right too. Or you think I'm ok, or just don't care. But right now, I just know that I wish each and every one of you the best.

Its called the season of goodwill after all. I guess I got a little infected. :)

Oh, and I might as well take this opportunity to say that I'm not going to be around all too much these next few weeks - I've got exam prep, then going home to see the family, then leaving the country altogether to meet up with someone very special to me.
