HereToHelp wrote:Hi, welcome to CDN! Which ward on you in?
Thanks a lot for the welcome, and hello as well!
Well, I'm living in Kithoi and I study in Tayseri - It's pretty neat to get around a little every day, even if it's just a tiny small step within my tiny neighbourhood.

WavesHaveBroken wrote:Greetings! It hopes the other will enjoy its time here. It will find much that is intellectually stimulating!
Greetings to you as well, and thanks for the good wishes!
To find some intellectually stimulating company is exactly why I am here, especially since (to me) it's much easier to get in touch with people anonymously over common interests instead of doing random smalltalk on the streets.

I'll see what I can do, but I can't promise much ATM since most of the time I'm online via mobile. ^^
(Mostly for work reasons XD)

Thanks a lot for the RL welcoming too! ^^ *hugs*

Hello and welcome to the galactic nuthouse, Preeya! (some say it is the secret command center of the galaxy but I am not so sure anymore. I am more tending towards weird rogoue AI experiment these days!)

Too bad I am already on my trip to Illium again!

Welcome to CDN, Preeya!
Make yourself comfortable. You will probably meet the strangest people here and sometimes wonder how you could live on the Citadel without ever noticing some of them!

I see you play GoF - a lot of people here do... or at least used to.

Nuthouse, secret command centre, AI experiment - All three equally tempting for further research I have to admit! (I should keep that in mind for later use...)
Thatnks a lot for welcoming me!

Taleeze wrote:Too bad I am already on my trip to Illium again!
Does not sound like you're actually enjoying your work(?) there.

You mean noticing the strange members of this community that happen to live on the citadel, or strange people inhabiting the citadel in general? (I know LOTS of strange people on the citadel... Many of them friends of mine...)

stardust wrote:I see you play GoF - a lot of people here do... or at least used to.
Oh yes! it's one of my personal favourites and pretty nice to relax.
Unfortunately I currently don't find as much time for it as I actually would like to have.
Anyway, if someone's actually interested, I'm always up for some fun together.

Oh no, that's not what I meant! I was just leaving from the Citadel - sort of a business trip - so I kind of trying to express how unfortunate it is for you to show up and me leaving your place. There's always an excuse for a drink or something!

While there's a lot that's not to like on Illium, I am looking forward to the club, friends and my bondmates.

I have found out that once you get to know people from this board you start bumping into them all over the place! In fact, since I live on Kithoi we may have already passed each other without even knowing...

Oh, okay, now I got it! (I am very sorry.)
Well, I don't see a reason why we should not keep that in mind for the future!

Taleeze wrote:While there's a lot that's not to like on Illium, I am looking forward to the club, friends and my bondmates.
In than case I hope your trip turns out as nice as expected.
Do you actually work in the club?
(BondmateS? You appear to be one lucky person!)

Well, I think it's unlikely that I will visit Illium in the near future, but again it think I will keep your offer in mind for the future!

That sounds great!
Since I'm a person who loves to make interesting new acquaintance, it would be a pleasure to "bump into" some of you guys one day!
(You and me passing each other without knowing.... I wouldn't even be surprised if we will do so in the future, since I am terrible at remembering faces...)

Hello there!
Well, no need to apology. As far as I understood everything here, welcoming new members (and even so as soon as possible) is not mandatory.
Thanks a lot for welcoming me nevertheless!
Ironically I recall the book you're mentioning. (That one appears to be some inofficial required reading amongst my fellow human students, so I was curious and read it myself. I can recommend it.)

Seeking_Rakhana wrote:If I may ask, what were you seeking with inspirational seminar papers?
Oh well, I actually was comparing different societies' interpretation of the four rules of black hole thermodynamics through history. I really have no idea how exactly I ended up here instead - Maybe in one of the posts/threads someone unwittingly placed all the required keywords that led me here...

I see you live on the citadel too! I wonder whether we'll "bumped into each other" as well as stardust would call it.
So you're an archaeologist - What exactly are you doing? I mean, do you work on some projects currently, are you studying/teaching? (Yes, sorry, guess I'm a little too curious, no bugging intended.)

No bugging at all. Right now I'm just teaching in a small University on Earth. (Yes I know, living on the Citadel and all that, I just connect to the classroom via the extranet, my office is currently a storage closet.) But that's only a part time job. I usually fill my time off of the Citadel following leads on failed current cycle societies. You know, like what the Drell almost were if the Hanar had not interceded. Most recently I made a sojourn to the homeworld itself. And had my hand smashed off with a rock and a chunk of scrap metal for my trouble. So one could say I am between serious digs at the moment.

I'm a bit late to the proceedings, but let me welcome you to this madhouse as well.

Though I'm hesitant to say so for risk of sounding self serving, you should know that Kithoi Central has the means to cater to quarian health care needs and pride ourselves on the welcoming and inclusive environment we provide. Do feel free to contact us if you have any urgent needs.

Again, welcome.

I am freelancing, currently working at the Apricity, yes. Seriously, it's an unusual working environment for Illium standards, about one of the best clubs I ever worked at.
And yes, I do consider myself luck for both of them. In fact I met one at the Apricity while looking for the other after the war. So this place has more than one special meaning to me.

Since I'm indeed quite curious about your topic, I wonder whether there's a way to stream your lessons even if I'm not part of the students...

Congratulations about this! (I mean your travel to Rakhana, not you getting your hand smashed!)
What is it like? Did you find lots of historical relevant things yet? And will you be going to share your work with others?
I haven't visited many planets yet, so forgive me if I appear overly inquisitive.

Oh well, yo do not sound self serving.
In fact I really did not know this before.
Usually I have to rely on the medical talents of a friend of mine when I'm in need, but I'll keep you in mind and contact you next time I might need help.

stardust wrote:You like going to clubs? I may try the Silver Star this weekend.
Oh, well, that sounds tempting.
I haven't been clubbing for quite some time, so I should consider filling that gap again.
I can't promise that I'll find the time this weekend though, since I'm almost behind my schedule for my current papers at the moment, and need to hurry up a little to finish everything in time.
I however will see what I can do. (Guess I'm easy to recognize, that profile picture is actually a real picture of me, and there#s not many fellow quarians with my enviro-suit colour scheme.)

That sounds awesome. Apparently you're a person who has found her personal happy ending after this war. (Is calling this "ending" impolite? I really don't know how to describe this any better, forgive me.)
I think there's nothing wrong with an unusual environment.
I wish you best luck and that things will stay like this for very long.

I believe that the university does allow for streaming of classes for non students. There is a cap on how many you can view in a week I think. I haven't checked the newest regs personally. To much else to do. In any case I am sure I can find a way to get you copies of the lectures. And the texts are of course easily found on the extranet.

The homeworld is now as it has been for far to long, a dry windswept wasteland. Overgrown urban decay and mass grave-sites mixed with wandering tribes descended from the few who did not leave or die. I doubt that it will ever be reclaimed, and the actions that lead to it's fall mean that it's little more than a dirt rock. I am glad however that at least the gods could travel with us.
I'm afraid that I didn't have that much in the way of artifacts to bring back this time, though some pottery shards I collected years ago are now on display in the Citadel temple.
Most all of the items I have found are in public museums or under study, and my papers are published in academic journals regularly enough. I have a small private collection of artifacts. It was larger but after a robbery of my apartment I donated most of it to proper academic institutions.

My apologies, I tend to ramble on when discussing my work or Rakhana.

That would be great, since I always love to sneak into new interesting topics!
(I by the way technically am student, just another topic.
You should find me on the citadel university network under CUPhotosphereProjectMod2162, in case you'd like to send me some material.)

I think I'm not entirely familiar with the exact details of Rakhana's uninhabitability.
Is there actually no possibility to cultivate the planet again?
(I'm sorry for my lack of knowledge - I'm actually more specialized on stars and singularities than planets.)

From everything I know especially in archaeology even tiny shards can lead to loads of knowledge, so I personally would say, that one never should underestimate what lies behind a simply find.
(I however think I should visit the temple some day to have a look.)

Don't worry, just tell things as you feel for them.
I guess being from a species that (temporarily) lost their home world I think I can understand you quite well, so no need to hide your thoughts.
