It blinked a second set of eyelids, shifting her weight onto her other leg. "Kayana Pesh. I was coming to look over their computer systems and these two dudes jumped me...yeah, yeah, not too bright of them, I know."
"Either way, they haven't answered my call yet so they don't know that I'm down here..." She sighed when the response finally came through. "Guess they do..." |

"You were attacked?"
He got out his badge. "Mombasa police... I mean, C-Sec liason of the Smuggling and narcotics department. I'd ask if you could describe your assailants, but was it those two turians that just walked pass?" |

"Awesome, I don't have to wait for a squad car. Yeah, those would be the ones. They thought I was a duct rat and tried to terrorize me."
"Did I mention I'm a vet? Thank the primacy's disgustingly low enlistment age." She laughed. |

"A vet? The fuck..." He whispered.
"Look..." Aww shit it's a alien. How am I supposed to know? Sounds feminine I suppose. "Ma'am. How about I continue this interview inside. It seems you've taught them a lesson anyway. We both want to be in LTD anyway." Not really giving her time to respond, Alex made his way into the LTD building. He stepped inside the stairway. Are apartments on the citadel always this hot? "Wow. It's like a Kenyan beach in here!" |

He sighed. It seemed like one group made a mistake, and now everyone had to deal with the following chaos because of her death. "Yeah, I suppose you're right. It's just… not exactly unexpected, but still worrying how much of a mess everything's become because of it." The gangs were fighting for power, and LTD seemed to be in the way of that. Looked like there was going to be a lot of work ahead for protecting the charity.
The fact that they'd been threatening a priest wasn't at all surprising at this point. "Don't most humans have some kind of taboo against threatening religious officials? Isn't it some old tradition?" He took another drink of his water and shook his head. "I suppose the gangs will do anything for control, so having someone that people trust in their resources makes sense." This was going to be a long day. |

"Yeah, in the UNAS we called it 'sunday truce', it's more comprehensive but that about sums it up. Churches, temples, synagogues, all of them fall under the truce." Snow was impressed, this turian copper caught on quick, he gave Cavallius a respectful nod as Randall decided to chime in, "Sunday Truce don't mean dick to those animals, most of the LTE leadership is either former Terminus, ex-big three, or your random scumbag who was given a pass thanks to the war. It's why the Co-op evicted them from the bazaar proper." The Co-op legbreaker turning to Snow, his hazel eyes dancing with amusement, "and that there Snowman, is your concrete fucking example."

She gave him a bit of a look, then followed. "Yeah, sure."
"What's the point of having security in the building if all their clients get jumped on the way there?" She dusted off her jacket. "I kind of like it. Though it could be drier." |

Sooo the ganger got talking with Cavallius, C-Sec agent, about gangs. No way that will end poorly.
Michelle disengaged herself from that to greet her new guests. "Hi Kayana, it's such a pleasure to see you!" she said with a wide smile. "It's very nice of you to come, I'm sorry it's a bit of a mess right now with all the people. And the heat. And the keeper. Leave our fridge alone keeper! Damn. So here is the mainframe, I've logged in for you, start when you're ready and I'll bring you a refreshment. I have tea, juices, anything you'd like?" She then turned to Alex. The wide smile left place to a glare. "Hello, Mombasa... Didn't see you since new year's eve. What are you doing around here? Any presidium lake you didn't try yet?" |

"I beat up two of the gangsters who've been bothering your kids. They jumped me." Yeah, there was no good way to deliver that news. She looked back and forth between the two humans, wondering what interpersonal drama she'd stumbled over. "Do you have coke?"

"I was thinking about the atlantic next. You can see it from all the way up here."
Alex sighed. "Sorry. About new years... I wasn't entirely in the right state of mind. Now, I'm not saying this here anti-narcotics officer did any drugs. But I wasn't sober by any stretch of the word." Alex took a look around the place. "Is this Burke's old place? I expected more damage seeing as it was only going for three times the cost of my sunglasses. I remember this slaver guy also wanted the place." Alex decided to actually answer her question. "I'm on the Citadel on official police duty. I'm the Mombasa police department smuggling and narcotics liason. And I'm in this building because I thought I aught to apologise in person. I'm really sorry." |

He folded his arms in front of him and frowned. "And even if they were from Earth and cared bout something like that… the Citadel isn't the UNAS, and it wouldn't apply here, anyway." Great… technicalities and Terminus gang leaders. Just what he'd wanted to deal with. He knew the problem was bad and this wasn't something he could deal with by himself, but the matter was starting to sink in just how huge this was. Rules never seemed to apply to gangs but this… this was a mess.
The two people at the door caught his attention, and he glanced over. A drell and another human? It was getting to be quite the full house. |

"Two low rankers, well good for you," Snow retorting to the drell mentally, his grey eyes scanning the crowded area before turning back to Cavallius, "typical mistake new cops make, thinking all gangsters are alike. Hopefully you'll grow out of it." The ex-salvager retorting cooly to the C-sec pig before turning his irritated stare to Randall. The Co-op thug just played his trump card, revealing the chaotic nature of the post-war Wards and the Co-op's sway among the street merchants. " No sense in delaying the inevitable", thinking as he downed the last of his water, collecting his thoughts for the concession of the invite.
"All right, Miss T'Naron gets her invite, but her alone Randall, no personal escort or muscle. She won't need it. And no weapons either, again, the blueback smiler won't need them. If that's acceptable, then she can come to the function." Julian Snow explained the terms in a dry manner, observing Randall for any signs of irritation or impatience. As Snow finished, Randall took a sip of water before nodding in acceptance, "you have a deal Snowman, as long as you let me give the place a once over, for Miss T'Naron's future well being." |

Awww.
Michelle just melted seeing this cute adorable idiot fumble some excuses. "It's... It's ok Alex, it's very nice of you to come here and tell me! Wait I'll... Yeah I'll make you some tea. Wait I need to go check on Kayana, don't move ok?" Michelle joined Kayana as she was starting to study the mainframe. "Here, let me show you how I usually do stuff, and where things are. See when I select this it opens those popups, I'm not sure why. So what I do is..." The following next five minutes were an excruciating display of lack of technical skills from Michelle, who was using counter-intuitive "shortcuts" and using outdated (and sometimes expensive) tools, on a mainframe filled with parasite programs. Obviously proud of herself, Michelle grinned to Kayana. "See? I know a thing or two!" Meanwhile Tanri and Kamila were still at Michelle's desk, forgotten and bored. Tanri was working on a pile of glasses resting uneasily on the head of the keeper. "I'm booored", complained his girlfriend. "Let's do something fun." "Sure sweetheart, have an idea?" he asked. "You know what? I think I do." she said, a malicious grin on her. A few minutes later they were pressing on Cavalius like cats on someone with a can opener. "Soo you're C-Sec?" opened Tanri, awe in his eyes. "That's sooo cool", continued Kamila, slightly flirty. "It is! You have a gun and all? You're what, a captain?" "You're stupid Tanri! They have commissars!" "Ho yeah, silly me..." "Say, commissar, I'm sure you know that this guy", she whispered at his ear while pointing at Randall, "is a ganger for the co-op. Whatchagonna do about it? Are you going to kick his ass?" They both chuckled. "Ho man", said Tanri, "I wouldn't want to be him!". |

"Now I didn't say that they were all alike–" Dante started to retort, but was cut off by the Tanri and Kamila surrounding him. He was baffled by what they were doing, and was feeling incredibly crowded. He tried to back up and put a little space between them, but it was incredibly hard to move with them pressed against him.
He gave a confused look at them. "Er… Yes, I am… I'm not a captain though or anywhere nearly that important." Spirits, what were they doing? They'd left him alone so far, why the sudden interest now? This was just getting uncomfortable, so he tried putting a little more space between them again. "Could you please back up a little, some personal space?" The girl whispered to him, and Dante turned to look at Randall carefully. "Really now…? How so?" He watched the man carefully. It was kinda suspicious how the kids were acting, and if the kids are ex-gang members they might have that knowledge… Strange, very strange. He didm't think he could just arrest the man right there, not when he had no proof and the man hadn't currently done anything wrong, but it wouldn't hurt to watch him more carefully. |

Alex considered his choices. He could bolt it, and return to the hotel he was staying at. But he had little desire to repeat the past. And he was offered a cup of tea...
He looked over as soon as someone said the word C-Sec. He saw some poor turian being crowded by a bunch of teenagers. "C-sec huh? Tell me, do you guys insist on a dress code? Cause all we had in my office was facial hair and a badge. My friend Adla was a good sport about that. She even wore a fake mustache first day of work." |

"And you think the C-sec man here doesn't know that?" Snow fixed the two rats with his 1000 yard stare, his voice revealing a hint of contempt and amusement. "The patrolmen, me, Miss Rondor, even Laykalar knows Randall is a 'suspected' high-stepper for the Co-op, but it's not what you know kids, it's what you can prove", A wry grin appearing on the young man's face as he gave Cavallius a nod in acknowledgement. He didn't trust the cop, but Snow admired his cool demeanor. Randall had begun a self-guided tour of LTD, checking the doors, windows, anything that might come into play if the worst happened. Hearing Snow's 'explanation' about the rules involving crime and gangs made the auburn haired man chuckle, Randall could care less about people knowing about his affiliation, "getting leverage is another game entirely", the thought cheering him even more as he came back into the waiting room.

This whole situation was quickly growing extremely odd. Dante looked at the the other cop and shrugged. "Just our uniforms, if that's what you mean. Though… I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that last part. Is having facial hair a requirement…?" Seemed like a very odd criteria to enforce.
He had to agree with Snow, he couldn't really do much in his current position. Even if the man seemed suspicious, he'd given no evidence that he was actually doing anything wrong… But if he was working for the gangs, then it couldn't be good news at all that he was here. |

Kayana sat on the edge of the desk, pulling a series of OSDs from the chain under her shirt and the pockets of her cargo pants.
"I think I see what's going on here. Why don't you let me me make a few optimizations." Change EVERYTHING. "And then I'll give you a few hints. I can definitely fix your popup problem." She looked under the desk to get a sense of the hardware. "But about my getting jumped...Is there any kind of neighbourhood watch project you can work with to get those alleys covered?" |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Capice |
"Thank you so much Kayana! I'll get you some tea too. When you're done come see me, you'll show me all that new stuff and we'll get you that much deserved college credit!"
She left Capice to her work and went to pour some tea. I hope she doesn't delete that sweet dolphin screensaver I downloaded for free... "So Alex, how's work treating you?" she asked him while handing him some tea. |

"I know I said more than that..." She muttered to herself, leaning back to see that the human had already left the room at a fast scrub.
She shrugged, beginning a full scrub of the system. "Figures." |
