Hey, Kirok - don't bother buying that shit. Leave me a few clips and grenades, I'll lace them for you. Could probably even show you how, it's not hard. |

Mr_Sandman wrote:You assume that even if you institute military reforms (which the prevailing opinions of the majority of asari in this thread indicate is unlikely to happen for a couple centuries on the inside) old arrangements will still apply.
Dear boy, 'a couple centuries' is highly optimistic. About four centuries ago, I had posited in a core Republic forum on the topics of where to move our culture in the future arguments in favor of military reform much like those you are both outright suggesting and implying are necessary. My colleagues and I were branded 'violent psychopaths' and banned from future such forums, and those who were Huntresses were excommunicated. Based on information I'd gathered, this position is raised and subsequent reaction garnered occurs roughly once every half century or so. I was no more the first than I was the last. I had dared to hope that the events of the Reaper invasion would have rather clearly illustrated that a sweeping change of protocol was desperately required. As you can see, however, many asari are unfortunately quite unwilling to even look at the picture so painstakingly laid out for them. So then, girls. I ask you the following: What will it take for you to swallow your unfounded pride in the Republics' military? How many times must they fail where it really counts in order for the message to get through? At what point will you acknowledge that in those occasions where we cannot rely on the military prowess of others, such as with the Reaper invasion, we essentially have virtually nothing of merit in that field? Now, I'm not saying that the Huntresses themselves are anything to be ashamed of. They are arguably the best there are at what they do. But the fundamental problem lies in the fact that the galaxy is a huge place, and there are not nearly enough Huntresses to distribute throughout it. There never have been. And if the necessary changes aren't made, there never will be. ...tangentially, I'm surprised those New Dawn skanks haven't gotten their filthy little claws on that idiot Namani yet, or how she even survived to her present age. She always was opposed to empowering anything that could imply a willingness to engage in violence. Even her own damned bodyguards. Then again, the New Dawn are as hilariously incompetent as Mr. Sandman here believes the Republic military to be. On that note, child... please rectify your statement. The Republics military are highly competent, they are just weak. The incompetence lies with the legislators who decide the military's budget and staffing. They are the ones who do not realize that we need more than token forces. To manipulate people from the smallest threads of their genetic code to the entire fabric of their place in the universe will not suffer the same fate. |
