I spoke with her today.

She told me she got in contact with other family members of hers from Bekenstein, and I don't know. It must have brought up feelings she buried about the attack. We were already in a rough patch and I was hoping that going to Illium was going to fix it, but I was wrong.

She told me she never wants to see me again, and she told me she was sorry for all that she was putting me through, this fucking situation with the baby. She told me she set up an account for the baby's education and other needs, and she told me I could have the apartment in the Citadel. She has no intentions of returning with me.

So.. that's that.

Chris told me something about surviving family members on Bekenstein being the reason for the recent drama.
I don't think this is necessarily true, or else she'd have mentioned it prior. I think something fishy is going on.
There has to be. There has to be something ruining all of this and I'm determined to figure it out.

Do you girls know of anyone on the planet, or have connections with anyone?

I don't know any investigator on Illium, but I will ask Skylar. As an attorney she should know some.

Well, I have to admit (I don't suppose this'll be a surprise) that's not necessarily where I'd be looking - but I don't want to seem like I'm trying to influence you, or disapprove. You know her best (certainly more than me - I just spent an hour or so watching her make a cake and idly chatting while trying not to get in the way in the kitchen), and if you think this may shed some light on what's going on, I'll do all I can to help.

Sadly I don't know that that'll be a great deal. For anything touching on Illium, I can recommend Tu'a Via Security, here in Nos Astra. I've been using them for background checks on my clients (can't be too careful) for some time now, and I've never had cause to complain - they're law-abiding, thorough, honest, and well-connected. The kind of investigation you're thinking of wouldn't be quite the same as what they do for me, but if I had that need myself, they'd be my first port of call - if not to do the job themselves, to put me in touch with someone better suited, and equally reliable.

I also have a friend (Skylar - can't recall if I ever mentioned her to you) who grew up on Bekenstein, and practiced law there for several years before coming to live here. I really don't know how much of a contact network she'd still have back there, in light of the war, but I know she'd be happy to help if she can.

I hope... well, I don't know what to hope, really, only that things turn around for you. If there's anything at all I can do for you, don't hesitate to call.

We are currently on the Citadel and then for a brief time on Nevos before she gets back to Illium. She's a friend of Daia's as well and a really good attorney. She has been living on Bekenstein herself for a long time (although she does not have the fondest memories of the place). Anyway, she says Tu'a Via is supposed to be a good investigator bureau on Illium.

NAPD has just confirmed an incident at Sarah's hotel, and unofficially I've been told it may have been a kidnapping; nobody at NAPD Plaza owes me any big enough favours to get more than that, but it seems consistent enough with what these... people are saying.

I'll let you (and Nat, I don't want to bother her right now, but I know she's a friend of Sarah's) know the instant I learn anything new.
