Explosion Damages Hahne-Kedar Facility

At approximately 0300 local time, an explosion leveled the East wing of a Hahne-Kedar manufacturing plant located just outside of Scott, Terra Nova. 5 employees are currently confirmed dead, with 3 more in intensive care and another 7 missing. The cause of the blast is currently unknown, but officials have ruled out an outside attack. Hahne-Kedar has provided no comments on the incident.

The bodies of 3 of the missing employees have been recovered. Emergency workers are still clearing rubble and have hope that there may still be survivors among the wreckage.

The families of 2 additional employees rejoiced as they were found alive in the wreckage of the wing. Both managed to survive the blast with only slight injuries. 2 employees remain unaccounted for.

Hahne-Kedar authorities have released an official cause for the explosion, citing the rupture of a YMIR-class mech's power cell by an automated welding machine. The explosion set off several nearby power cores, resulting in the chain reaction that killed 10 employees and destroyed a considerable amount of machinery. Analysts have determined the fault's cause to be from a recent firmware patch, causing it to activate its fusion torch 5 millimeters to the right and for 5 seconds longer than intended.

Hahne-Kedar expressed its sorrow towards the tragedy in a brief press statement, and further commented that it would compensate the families of those affected "shortly."

My thoughts towards the families of the deceased.

However, considering the location, Either an Industrial accident, or its Sovereign Nation's doing. If it's the latter, something's gotta be done.

What were they producing there anyway? I am not particularly familiar with H-K products. I have seen some but can't say if they tend to apply sub standard safety regulations.

They made enough sales from of the damn things to supply mechs throughout both C-Space and the Traverse. They probably gouged enough out of them that they could live off the profits for the next several decades - barring a Reaper-inspired collapse, of course.

On the subject of Hahne-Kedar products, admittedly their mechanized platforms are subpar and their weaponry is standard but their Armor is quality.

I wish I could say I was surprised.

But that right there? That's the definition of Hahne-Kedar.

Saying an arms manufacturer makes good armor is like saying the average sentient being is born with two legs. It's something that's pretty much expected, given the armor is supposed to be your last line of defense against high-velocity shrapnel embedding itself into your chest cavity.

You seem to have difficulty understanding basic sentient communication. Just because you are an arms manufacturer doesn't mean you produce a good product. Aldrin Labs is a military supply company, yet their armor is cheat garbage. Saying that Hahne-Kedar makes good armor means that their armor is good in comparison to other manufacturers.
