Fun Questions for Characters

Hey guys! We were having fun with some talks about what our characters would be if they were _____ in IRC the other day, and I thought the topic of conversation would make for a great thread.

So, here it is! Feel free to post your own questions and answers. I'll edit the question list in the first post as more questions come. Here are a few I came up with, for starters:

1. If your character was a band, what would that band be called?
2. What animal best represents your character?
3. If your character were real and you were playing video games together, which game would you play, and would they be good at it?
4. What car would your character drive, and why?
5. Which celebrity reminds you the most of your character?

And, as an example, my answers for Cerastes:

1. Dick Railroad. Totally Dick Railroad, because he's a dick.
2. Well, Cerastes is named after a snake, so the cheap answer is he'd be a cerastes. However, I could pretty easily see him as a shark, too! He's very cold and calculating, and on top of that, he's sort of a fan of gratuitous violence, so it fits.
3. Uhhhhhhhhh we'd probably play Dead Space. I'm awful at scary games, so he'd be way better than me at it. I literally just swear, yell, and cover my eyes, and then I die.
4. A viper, baby. It looks slick as hell.
5. Daniel Craig.

1. We’ve actually gone over this on a previous thread, but Dwick was part of a band called ANAL LEAKAGE SUCKS. However, since that was a backup since some jerk already trademarked the name, I’m going with his original band name.

3. We would probably play something like You Don’t Know Jack.

He would be hilariously bad – aside from being able to Screw Your Neighbor at the exact right time.

It depends on whether he’d be able to fit in the former or not.

5. Easy. Jim Cummings.

1. If your character was a band, what would that band be called?
The Albert Lowell Project! If he’s going to have a band he’ll damn well make sure his name is in it.


2. What animal best represents your character?
Black panther. Sleek, smooth, kind of a loner, deadly.


3. If your character were real and you were playing video games together, which game would you play, and would they be good at it?
I’m not sure on what particular title we would end-up playing he’s not much of a gamer and I’m not really much of MP player but I am sure that he would win either because he plays well or he would cheat.


4. What car would your character drive, and why?
Since he loves being in control it would probably be all wheel drive, and since he likes speed and design it would probably be a sports car. So given this I would guess a Lamborghini Reventón, Aventador or maybe even a Sesto Elemento.


5. Which celebrity reminds you the most of your character?
There’s so many but George Clooney or Christopher Lee are pretty close for different reasons.

1: Biotic Pinballs would probably be the best name, and they'd play nothing but upbeat pop songs.

2: A squirrel. Slightly high strung, hyperactive, enjoys scampering about the place and storing nuts for winter.

3: Jesse probably would only play DDR styled games, and she would dance circles around me.

4: Any variety of convertable, really; just to feel the wind in her hair and the sun on her face.

5: Janelle Monae.

1. Sicaria's band would probably be called something like Freedom Cry or Glorious Revolution, and they'd sound like the Dropkick Murphys - half traditional folk music, half punk.

2. A wolf. Specifically, one of those mangy, scarred-up, scrawny lone wolves that can pass as a coyote. She's a pack animal without a pack, and had a hard life, and hurting, and it shows.

3. I really don't see Sica as a gamer. She'd probably play a shooter like Halo, be shockingly average at it, and spend the whole time bitching that real guns have recoil, or that the game dynamics don't incorporate wind drift affecting the path of your bullets, even though the trees on the horizon are moving.

4. Sica would drive some god awful shitmobile, like an '82 Chev pickup, back when glossy brown was a thing, with cracked plastic seats, a gun behind the seat and a toolbox in the truck bed. The thing would run better than it had any right to, but the left sideview mirror would be gone, the bumper would be attached with wire and the brakes would work thanks to the replacement of the original cracked brake llines with generic rubber tubing under the hood. It would, occasionally, double as her house.

5. I hate this question since I don't really follow celebrities much and those I can't help hearing about are all wrong. So if you define 'celebrity' as 'someone on the news', Sicaria is... Kaftar.

1: It would totally be Asari Promiscuity, and be pretty much Aqua.

2: A kind of mix of a domestic cat - the kind that likes to look aloof and dignified, but will roll over and be a shameless sook the moment someone starts scratching her tummy - and a meerkat.

3: For social play she'd be into some sort of pairs DDR-style rhythm game, which I am not, so I think we'd compromise on Mario Kart, and be pretty even. I'd get around the track more efficiently, but she'd be more willing to make crazy attacking moves and have the reflexes to pull them off.

4: Talbot-Lago T150 SS, for exactly the same reason as IC - it looks stylish.

5: Sasha Grey for obvious reasons, something of Amber Benson, and now that I come to think of it, Julia Zemiro.

My answer for Cerastes:

6. Inventory
- His briefcase. In said briefcase are datapads, fake passports and other forged identification, tools of the trade (injoke to mention this video whenever the briefcase is mentioned ;) ), a swiss army knife, and a pistol.
- His favorite gun, the Grassfed.
- Painkillers.
- An extremely-hacked omnitool.
- A special ring.

7. Totally an infiltrator. He runs around with a stealthsuit under his clothes most of the time, but he tends to prefer smaller handguns to the weapons a traditional infiltrator uses.

Day to day;

Although on formal occasions there’s a tie involved and currently he’s required to wear some form of bullet protection which ruins the look a bit.

7. If your character was selectable in MEMP, what class would they be?
Infiltrator with soldier coming in close second and engineer in third place. He likes to use stealth a lot but is not afraid of using brute force or tech-powers when needed.

1. If your character was a band, what would that band be called?
He's never been very good at naming groups he's started up. He'd go with either Liberators or Crusaders, and they'd play some alternative rock


2. What animal best represents your character?
An Alaskan Malamute. Big, furry, friendly dog, who's good with people. He's not built for speed, but with the strength and endurance required for long trips, even carrying a great burden along the way.


3. If your character were real and you were playing video games together, which game would you play, and would they be good at it?
Hrm. I've never really seen him as much of a gamer, but I think he and I would enjoy pummeling each other with fighter games.


4. What car would your character drive, and why?
I've never been much of a car person, but I imagine it would look something like this.

The smell of scoobysnacks alone would draw him in. But then he'd keep finding himself tangoing creeps, and love the van even more for it.

5. Which celebrity reminds you the most of your character?
Well, I've been told he sounds like Troy Baker around three times in peoples heads, so I guess thats my Thanatos flavored ham leaking into my writing. Or Vohk just reminds people of Snow Villiers, IDK. If I had to choose a physical representation, It'd be a tie between Sam Witwer and Matthew Fox. They're just the guys could be him once we get around to making CDN a live action film.

7. If your character was selectable in MEMP, what class would they be?

He'd be a soldier, and one meant for close to medium range combat. He'd be the human answer to the Turian Havoc. Armor design would look something like this.

I think it'd probably be a classical ensemble- Maybe a trio of cellos? As for the name, I'm unsure.
2. What animal best represents your character?
Golden eagle.
3. If your character were real and you were playing video games together, which game would you play, and would they be good at it?
Sarah is the type to play RTS and Sim-Games. She has interest in MMORPG's, but she's hardly good at them.
4. What car would your character drive, and why?
2013 Chevy Volt.

Sarah's outward appearance was based on the actress Charlotta Mohlin.
6. What's in your character's inventory on an average day? What do they wear?
At work, Sarah wears military formals or military gear.
Off-duty, Sarah typically wears a hooded military jacket with the Systems Alliance logo patched in on the shoulders. The inside is of a softer wool-like material, the outside is a cotton canvas exterior. Other wear is usually casual.
Sarah's day-to-day inventory is-

-Single-eye visor with sound-canceling earpeice and communicator app (for omnitool)

7. If your character was selectable in MEMP, what class would they be?
Female human vanguard.
Armor is colored as one would color an intelligence officer- Black and blues, with light-shade blue lights, armament is the Predator heavy pistol and Katana shotgun outfitted with an omniblade.

Last Girl Standing

2. What animal best represents your character?
A crow. Squaky and loud but also a survivor.

3. If your character were real and you were playing video games together, which game would you play, and would they be good at it?
A fighting game, and she'd mostly mash buttons.

4. What car would your character drive, and why?
Some old 1970s boat that she paid $200 for. Teenagers don't have a lot of money.

5. Which celebrity reminds you the most of your character?
No idea

6. What's in your character's inventory on an average day? What do they wear?
Kayana's inventory includes

Kayana's outfits vary a lot-she buys cheap clothes and rotates though them pretty quickly, though she has a distinct weakness for political t-shirts. She prefers flat shoes and lots of pockets.


7. If your character was selectable in MEMP, what class would they be?
Drell Assassin Infiltrator but level 3-4.

What's in your character's inventory on an average day?
Excluding times she's got a specific need for a particular item (let's not go there), I think Daia travels pretty light - she's in the capital city of a highly advanced colony and doesn't stray much, her omni-tool in combination with publically-accessible tech and networks can provide most anything she needs. Aircar keys and remote, wallet, personal computer, phone, camera, login to Sasha and the penthouse network, medical scanner, and so on.

I'd imagine the microfabricator in a full omni-tool would be able to produce makeup (it's a really good omni-tool, provided you don't need to blow stuff up, in which case it's useless) - although she has various less conspicuous 'host' hardware for the omni-tool's software, with scaled back capabilities. The ones she'd typically wear for 'work' (or work without the inverted commas, any time she wouldn't these days have a bag with her) are swish-looking little anklets or bracelets depending on what goes with the outfit, and wouldn't have the fabricator, or a bunch of the other fancy features - although for inverted comma work, the medical scanner is a must, so she'd have that at the cost of other hardware.

So far as protection goes, I'm imagining something along the lines of a medical implant stocked with nanites - not the kind of thing the average person would likely have, but in her case worth the hassle.

What do they wear?
It changes on a daily and sometimes hourly basis - I think even as a pseudo-CEO she still thinks like an escort, and tailors her appearance for the client (just sometimes with desired effects other than 'yowza'). So anything from impeccable suit to smart casual to sexy office lady, and of course at her other job, anything imaginable. Left to her own devices, comfortable slightly dressy outfits, sexy but in stylish ways - she'd be more likely to have a long skirt slit high up one side to show a bit of hip rather than just make it short.

If your character was selectable in MEMP, what class would they be?
If you want to be serious, I suppose asari adept - her biotics aren't really tailored for combat, but there are applications for what she's good at that could achieve useful effects, and overall it's still her best 'weapon'. She'd be a little surprisingly capable given her day job, but I still think even level 1 would be a bit much. But given the option I think it'd be more fitting if she appeared in the form of a pinup you could acquire to customise your armour.

Since she's my absentee long runner (I can't believe I still can't find an excuse to play around with her), here's one for my ongoing experiment, Hoshi.

1. If your character was a band, what would that band be called?
Actually, "Ongoing Experiment" sounds about apt. Something which seems clinical at the face of it but turns out to sound more artistic the more you think about it.

2. What animal best represents your character?
Probably something like a jumping spider. Hard physical outer shell and mechanical-appearing, oddly cute/pretty, surprisingly intelligent and durable, and innately curious.

3. If your character were real and you were playing video games together, which game would you play, and would they be good at it?
I have quite a few fighting games, stuff like Tekken and DOA. She'd probably be especially good at it, finding the timing easy to get down after a while and picking really complicated, combo-happy characters.

4. What car would your character drive, and why?
A Fiat 500. She'd find it efficient and effective for her needs.

5. Which celebrity reminds you the most of your character?
Can't really say.

6. What's in your character's inventory on an average day? What do they wear?
Usually it's all just software and omni-tool functions. Hoshi has a pair of them to be an effective assistant to Ruso, and everything else is just software-including any credit transactions or what would pass for a wallet/credit chit/whatever.
When it comes to "wearing" things, normally Hoshi just mounts outer casing designs that either match the other people at E&T or shapes, colors and patterns that Ruso thinks look cool. The idea is that she always looks sleek and somehow aerodynamic.

7. If your character was selectable in MEMP, what class would they be?
Engineer, natch. Something really squishy but with a potentially very high damage output, probably exacerbated/enhanced by powers that routinely take shield power for offense, to slow down or freeze enemies or other such powers.
Alternately, imagine an annoyingly cute and obnoxiously Japanese-influenced reskin of the Not-EDI-or-Eva infiltration unit.

The Tops

2. What animal best represents your character?
The rat. Somewhat sleazy. Resourceful but not at all intimidating or overtly dangerous.

3. If your character were real and you were playing video games together, which game would you play, and would they be good at it?
Couldn't say

4. What car would your character drive, and why?
BMW 735i E38, from Transporter 1. Stylish, but not overly flashy.

5. Which celebrity reminds you the most of your character?
None really come to mind I don't suppose. Definitely low profile though.

What's in your character's inventory on an average day? What do they wear?

Inventory would be pretty small. Omni-tool, used mostly for recording customer balances and bets that have been placed. Credit chit, a concealed pistol and miscellaneous necessities (communicator, ID, wallet, etc.)

Attire would be a slightly more refined pressure suit than typically seen (smaller gloves and boots for instance), which has the stealth function from the multiplayer mode worn under a three-piece suit. Pretty much variants of

Also one gold and onyx ring on the outward-most digit of each hand.

7. If your character was selectable in MEMP, what class would they be?

Infiltrator specced with a long stealth time and a high headshot multiplier. Keep the Volus shield boost and maybe a proximity mine for debuff. But T.E. certainly isn't useful in military combat (nor does he carry mines or have a shield booster)

“3.” That would be the full name. “3.”

2. What animal best represents your character?
A dragonfly. He zooms in, sees everything, leaves a quick observational comment, and disappears as though he never existed.

3. If your character were real and you were playing video games together, which game would you play, and would they be good at it?
We would play an incredibly awkward game of Twister.

4. What car would your character drive, and why?


There is no accounting for taste.

5. Which celebrity reminds you the most of your character?
At risk of sounding cliché, Brent Spiner, with an undercurrent of Dean Stockwell.

6. What's in your character's inventory on an average day? What do they wear?
Dyson wears a geth 281C standard construction platform, which makes use of a series of small- and large-scale construction instruments – primarily, a welding torch that Is attached to the platform’s right arm. The platform also makes use of a small mass effect field and emergency thrusters, as it is often used in zero-gravity environments.

7. If your character was selectable in MEMP, what class would they be?
He would abandon his current platform and take up residence in a Geth Juggernaut.

blue sisters.

2. What animal best represents your character?

a Neon Flying Squid. It is seriously a cool animal.

3. If your character were real and you were playing video games together, which game would you play, and would they be good at it?
Some dancing game on the Wii and I would suck against her

BMW M3 - because style.

5. Which celebrity reminds you the most of your character?
none really.

6. What's in your character's inventory on an average day? What do they wear?
Omnitool, sunglasses, lip stick, sun lotion, she travels light.
The wardrobe depends largely on place and occasion. For work she wears all sorts of fancy clubwear but she is also most comfortable in simple pants and tops.

7. If your character was selectable in MEMP, what class would they be?
asari engineer if it would exist. Warp, overload and throw maybe.

1. If your character was a band, what would that band be called?
"The Light of Truth" You all know that (or something to that effect) is what it would be called. :P

2. What animal best represents your character?
Well, the funny answer would be a chicken, but I actually picture her more like a crow or a parrot. Possibly even a house cat.

3. If your character were real and you were playing video games together, which game would you play, and would they be good at it?
I don't really picture her playing many video games. But we'd probably play some sort of word game, and she'd probably beat me. (I've lost a game of Scrabble to someone still learning English. >_>)

4. What car would your character drive, and why?
Something cheap and practical that can get her from point a to point b without too much trouble. Preferably fuel-efficient as well.

5. Which celebrity reminds you the most of your character?
I honestly don't know enough about celebrities to answer this question. xD

6. What's in your character's inventory on an average day?
Not much, really. Just her omni-tool and some money.

7. What do they wear?
She's too cheap to buy new clothes, so she usually just wears her custom-made envirosuit, which is approximately the same color as her text.

8. If your character was selectable in MEMP, what class would they be?
A level one infiltrator.
