C-Sec announced today that they have arrested Uli Schwenke, a human male suspected of having attempted to bomb Aroch College during its Non-Council Integration conference. Schwenke, 34, was living in a temporary housing project for disenfranchised refugees prior to being taken into custody.

“In the course of this investigation, we were able to trace the suspect’s location by comparing his genetic fingerprint on file with that of the parcel, particularly the explosives,” C-Sec Lieutenant Catio Polix announced to the press.

Following Schwenke’s arrest, the anti-synthetic group “Geth Watch”, to whom the suspect had been affiliated with, made an official statement renouncing any and all ties between Schwenke and the organization.

The timing of this statement is specious.

I think, the group just reacted to the speculated connection at that time.
But well, still suspicious. They weren't opposing his goal it would seem.

What does this "Geth Watch" even exactly stand for? Does anybody know them?

It seems like they are in the open? So such an overeager person is of course unwanted. Besides, as I understood it, he was targeting a lot of organics as well?

Since it’s a group called “Geth Watch,” and its (disavowed) member interrupted a conference on maintaining peace between races that were (until lately) pretty much at war with the galaxy through the use of a bomb aimed at the raloi – wait, sorry, no, the geth – I’m guessing it’s the sort of group Pariah would hand out pamphlets for.

I do not see any references to the raloi in the news. What do you speak of with your slights?

I'm just glad it turned out to not be a quarian terrorist this time. We don't need that crap right now. Especially when we're trying to rebuild back on Rannoch and re-enter galactic society with the Geth as allies. Thankfully, for once, someone hated synthetics more than any of my people. No, my concern was potential backlash and everyone here was automatically accusing an admitedly stupid quarian exile as a possible candidate, which got me worried. Of course I'm happy that the bomber in general is caught, I was relieved that it didn't turn out to be another idiot dragging our name through the mud. But if you want to stick words in my mouth, go ahead, I'm use to it by now. All I said, was I was happy that it didn't turn out to be a quarian who had stooped to such lows as everyone was predicting. Something I myself was guilty of in a sense because of the animosity between my people and the Geth and it seemed plausible.

But hey, typical day on here right? I make a joke about monarchies and world history, people start accusing me of not having a proper visa to stay on Earth because I'm apparently ignorant. I say I'm relieved my species had no part to play in the actual bombing thus avoiding a potential public backlash like what happened with Atar and I'm apparently not grateful that the bomber was caught period. I'm constantly reminded why I hate the extranet.

Vik seemed to be saying "yay it wasn't a quarian because if it had been it would have hurt more than one already tentative alliance and added to the societal struggles of reintegrating to the galaxy" which is a big concern on a galactic and political level and has no bearing on how relieved he may or may not be by the bomber being caught.

My dear, as I have only just proven, even a screenname and a penchant for wit will not save people from taking your dialogue at face value. This goes double for when there is no sarcastic statement in your post to speak of. So please, take the stick out of your brobdingnagian ass window and think about what you say...before you say it.

And for my part, let me apologise for my outburst. It had been a trying day as it were. Some things did not pad out and I must rethink my resource methods.

Anyway, getting back to the real point. With the bomber in custody the rest of this conference will go off without a single hitch. Hopefully it will go a long way to reintergrating many of the non-council races into a more cohesive unit, thus allowing people like the elcor and volus a bit more weight in galactic politics. I'd still like to see the batarians get an embassy on the citadel again. Now that the hegemony is dead maybe they make some real progress towards a better future. It was good to see this whole situation was resolved quickly and that the attempted bomber will now face charges for trying to disrupt a goodwill conference for his petty agenda.

Don't mention it Vik. I thought it was necessary to point out to other users that you were making a statement relating to the political tone surrounding the nature of the crime and not just the criminal himself. We live in tense and delicate times and being level-headed is a good way to get a point across.

One has to wonder what he hoped to accomplish by destroying a platform. It isn't like he would have actually killed the thing and would have only created more sympathy for the synthetics if he had actually succeeded.

Fuck anyone who paint the Geth as terrorist. In the war I fought alongside two geth troopers. They had more of a quad then an entire turian brigade (And I know that because they helped me mow down on Marauder forces like they were varren).

The only people that looks like a terrorist now are the pyjakshit bomber and his Geth Watch buddies.
