Professional Wrestling Promotion Receives Lawsuit

Employees affiliated with the Galactic Wrestling Association have filed a class-action lawsuit against their employer this week, citing that the pro wrestling promotion has failed to pay nearly half of its employees for over six months. The GWA, which had been among the top three wrestling promotions in Citadel space alongside rivals New Citadel Pro Wrestling and Arena of Champions, has been struggling with financial difficulty since the war.

“The conditions that we’re working under are quite frankly, ridiculous,” spoke Craig Amherst, who wrestles for the GWA under the ring name “Ray Caden.” “For all the talk that wrestling is fake, we put our physical selves at risk nearly every week. I can see this happening, perhaps, with an indie promotion in the Terminus, But when a major company like this can’t even pay us, you have to wonder what the hell is going on at the top.”

The lawsuit comes at a rather unfortunate time for the promotion. Several members of the roster have been leaving to join the NCPW and AOC over the past month, and rumors persist that GWA CEO Doral Sarrot is attempting to sell the company to avoid bankruptcy.

GWA's moronic business decisions aside (Seriously, they punished Cato Solus for completely no-showing the Breakdown PPV by suspension with pay), they are at least giving people something to take their minds off.

Agreed. Hell, NCPW did a special here at Camp Laurier a while back, it was huge morale booster. They even did a free show for the civilians the next night, and they LOVED IT. Absolutely great crowd for each show.

Maybe that is just a necessary cleanup happening among too many rivaling organizations.

Hierarchy_dad, I think it's not just that. In time like these people have a desperate urge to spend money on entertainment and a lot of other operations are thriving. But somehow this guy missed the bus and there is no safety net currently, the blankets are getting thin. I would bet we will see a sellout to a competitor.

I'm a bit lost with this. Is Professional Wrestling like a TV show? Or is it 100% competitive?

Pro Wrestling is mainly scripted. but some of the talent and athleticism needed to pull off the moves without hurting each other? That's definitly real.
