CEF Celebrates First Anniversary
Nouriel Dostman, DW Intergalaktische CEF main offices, PRESIDIUM BLOCK 1701 - Today marks the 1st anniversary of the creation of the Citadel Exploration Fleet. With the relay network severely damaged, accesses to various systems have been terminated for a significant period of time. In response to this, Citadel races created the CEF in a spirit of cooperation and galactic recovery. Exactly one year ago, Admiral Nowak of the Systems Alliance, General Corcyrus of the turian Hierarchy, Matriarch Xereva of the Asari Republis and Dalatrass Sezlon of the Salarian Union came together in front of the council and signed the charter of The Citadel Exploration Fleet's foundation. This action that proved instrumental in satisfying various homeworlds’ demand for resources, as well as those of the colonies most closely tied to them. Under this initiative, 40 of the best turian, human, asari and salarian ships came together to expand our horizons and venture into the fringes of known space for the sake of the entire galaxy. Their purpose: to satisfy the galaxy's needs for access to new resources and restore contact with as many frontier colonies as possible. Utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and the best crew of every citadel world, in the past year alone the Exploration Fleet has charted more than 21 new systems, listed 16 new mining targets and even discovered a prospective future colonization. Today marks a full year of a rigorous cycle of long and brave voyages into uncharted space. As such, the ships SSV Anzio, SSV Krakow, HES Patrux, AEV Taseda, AEV Esereva and SRS Mimlon, all members of the CEF, have docked at the Citadel today to have their crews attend the celebrations. "I have served in the Alliance Navy for many years, but it’s a completely different experience,” says Officer Elle White, Chief Navigator aboard the SSV Anzio. “The vast emptiness, as well as the isolation, can really get to you out there. But when you remember how important the things we do are for the galaxy, the feeling is great, and it's what fuels us to keep going. Fly one light year further." More interviews will be held later today, following a speech from Admiral Nowak and General Corcyrus. Those who could not make it to the Citadel today are still out there, diving into the abyss of interstellar space across numerous clusters in council space, facing the unknown every day so all of us here can have better lives and reunite with our families once more. Stay tuned for the live broadcast later today! Presslink News Aggregator: Collecting headlines from across the galaxy. ((Official administration news feed. This sounds like a job that I'd like to do, sailing in space looking for new worlds...but you're stuck up with the same people for months if not years and out of contact with the galaxy.

The embassies are swarming with representatives and we have a whole weekend of receptions and dinners ahead!
It is interesting, how a relief project turned into a full scale exploration fleet, once relay traffic was normalizing more and more. It has been a long time since we had an effort like this, operating as a Council initiative. This was only in the old days, when we were still exploring relays I guess. Somehow that part had been forgotten over the Rachni disaster. You wouldn't believe what kind of negotiations are going on behind the scenes over the findings of the fleet all the time, despite the 'equal distribution act'. I hear some cutbacks are in the air though. Forty ships are a big number and there is a session scheduled on future funding in a few days. If I must guess, they most likely will cut back to thirty two. ![]() |

This one has been neglectful in its attempts to converse with the honoured other regarding the upcoming charity dinner. It offers apologies, and wonders if the other would be willing to consider an arrangement? This one is pleased to report that the other may be providing culinary sustenance to the honourable Assemblyman Vallario, who has declared himself willing to attend. This one humbly awaits the other's reply. As regards the article above, this one is greatly excited to see more interaction between disparate spacefaring organizations. This one recalls happily its early inquiries regarding the universal appeal of space travel to sapient beings, and would be eager to observe the process of philosophical growth that results when varied approaches to engagement with the greater encompassing are considered in tandem. A more united galaxy will suggest ever more complex arguments for these ones' spiritual potential. "I was blind, and I cannot say I had eyes to see the truth. That's great news.
A greater common effort is bringing us closer together. I wonder how the resources are assigned to species or colonizing companies? Seems like this doesn't produce much stress though. stardust wrote:

And that's bad news... Still a formidable fleet though. Stardust, do you have any say in that matter? ![]() |

Just a heads-up, CEF has ties to the Volanti. Check this week's episode of Eye of the Hexagon for more info.
