Yellow vs. Blue

Hey there everyone, it's your favorite friendly, foulmouthed turian (no not that one, the other one...like three down the list okay?) here to tell you about a lovely new RP in the coming weeks revolving around a little world in the Terminus called Tshombesha.

Tshombesha, as some of you will recall, is a mineral rich, largely corporate run world that's recently come down with a bad case of rebellion (or oppression depending on whose side your on), a condition that can only be cured through the careful application

of mercenaries.

Lots'n lots of mercenaries.

The men and women of the Blue Suns's 9 Commando have been hired on by the mining corporations currently bankrolling the secession attempt in order to serve as a gendarmerie/planetary defense force; taking on insurgents, loyalists, and, in time, those fucking yellowbellies as well.

Eclipse has, in turn, has dispatched its notorious 16 Company on behalf of the Vonskar Coalition in order to bring those upstarts to their knees. If they just so happen to be able to turn some blueballs into so much blue/red paste along the way then hey, that's just icing on the cake.

Of course the question now becomes "who's going to win"? And that, my dear readers, is where you come in. You see we're going to have tryouts.

Ie. Everyone who's interested in the plotline please post your interest here and PM a brief character write up for a Suns or Eclipse merc to myself (Mr_Sandman on the old forums and IRC). If you've already got a character and have been okayed by either Gunny, Corona, or myself just leave a quick notice in the thread below, letting us know you're still ready to go.

A few brief notes; firstly, you don't have to be an elite trooper or assassin or what have you. It's rather the point of this that we have mercenaries from all walks of life so to speak. That means engineers, infantry, pilots, heavies, medics, etc. etc. If you'd like to play an elite troop, there's certainly nothing stopping you and we'd be more than happy to have you on board regardless, but I'm just throwing it out there that there are other options.

Secondly, you're more than welcome to play either Suns or Eclipse but, if you're currently undecided, I would recommend that you check out Eclipse, they're a bit hard up numbers wise (that being said, Suns hooah :P).

Thirdly, I'm going to do my best to include as many people who're interested as possible but, in the event that your concept is turned down, that does not mean that I hate you personally forever, more that I'm pretty sure we have as many players as I can reasonably handle and/or you just might not be a good fit with whoever else is playing.

Just a heads up.

Fourthly and lastly, this is going to be a fairly organized group and we're going to do out best to stick to a regular schedule. If RL comes up just give me (your lovely lovely GM) a notice so we're not all sitting around going "huh, wonder what happened to [x]" for the next week and a half. If, on the other hand, you're the kind of person who really only feels like posting at all every week and a half, you may want to reconsider your involvement. There's going to have to be a degree of commitment to this, so just keep that in mind.

So yeah, really looking forward to this guys. It's going to be some great stuff :D.

Couple things that I just wanted to lay down now before we really get into the swing of things.

First, the way this arc is going to work is that the Suns and Eclipse are going to have their own threads and own posting orders for both social and combat in order to keep things as streamlined as possible. If there's any reason to break this I'll tell you but, for the time being, everybody's going to be seeing things from their own perspectives so to speak.

Secondly, I know it's come up a few times, but some of you have been wondering about how the "winner" will be determined. My answer? The side that puts the most effort into their posts, the side that RPs both winning and losing appropriately instead of simply saying "I go here and I do this" will be rewarded appropriately.

Thirdly, this is going to be a ton of fun and thank you all for helping to make this a reality. GM's aren't shit without some good players to back them up.

Heyo just a heads up (if you can't tell I'm probably going to be using this to give you all updates on new threads/upcoming plans, if only because it's easier than hunting you all down on the IRC or old board PMs and yes I'm talking to you) going to be getting in another couple posts from both Cass and Aalos and then we're going to be starting in on our next round of threads probably by Wednesday at the earliest and Saturday at the very, very latest.

So not quite the last call here but if you've got stuff you'd like to do go ahead and get it in now.
