Samhaus, MEGALOS BREACH - Public outcry and official protests have erupted from turian and batarian officials as the Robath Freehold's Court of Lords ordered quarantine of districts in the capital including Bacus, Scapai, and Alaso, as well as the secondary cities of Hivisa and Novus. “Evacuation of [those uninfected by the Robath Blue] poses an unacceptable risk that containment will be breached and that the pathogen will be spread to clean sites,” stated Lord Esatha, current leader of the Court majority faction.

The action has met with opposition within the Court of Lords. “These are our families, our kin, our friends,” replied Lord Arcitis in a public address. “If you think that we will abandon the easily saved based upon the edict of one overinflated bureaucrat, you are sorely mistaken.”

Tayseri Times should leave Terminus news to agencies actually working in the Terminus - they didn't link to the previous article or provide any information about what planet or systems these are.

That is quite desperate and extreme. It is understandable that this will not just pass unopposed.
I am kind of missing any information what is actually done to fight the disease.

Just closing a sector off and let everyone rot inside is one thing but isn't there some scientific approach? On the other hand, It wouldn't be the first case where the media are reporting selectively.

Why not stop fucking around and just go in guns blazing? You're killing the infected anyway, they'll die faster if you actively murder them.

The bonus pay for bio-hazard risks tend to be rather expensive.

More to the point, you're making one of two assumptions, neither of which is true.

Either 1) it's going to be 100% infection and mortality rate anyway (nothing natural does that, and almost nothing artificial), or 2) infected are easily distinguishable from uninfected.

Also, most soldiers would rather not gun down innocent civilians, there's too much risk of people slipping the net...

That's just off the top of my head, I can easily think of more reasons you'd rather not purge the area.

An embargo has been declared on the Samhaus and Grisios system as a whole, with all lines of trade and travel with the rest of the Freehold and neighbors officially severed.

Embargo will be enforced via war fleets.

What, embargo and blockade of all the system? I have never heard of anything like that to contain a disease. There will so so many dead when this is over, eventually.
Isn't there any help effort going on? Any new finduings on the virus or whatever it is?

Which, as unpleasant as it is at the time is usually the first step in addressing any outbreak and any governing body's immediate priority.
