Bliss Festival To Return To Tayseri

Treel Nahar, Tayseri Observer

Celebrations and controversy are gearing up side-by-side on Tayseri following the joint announcement by Ward administrators and Bliss Festival organisers that the galactic adult entertainment exhibition is set to return.

Although a ‘Virtual Bliss’ extranet event was held last season in collaboration with local events on Illium and Omega, this will mark the first full Bliss Festival since 2186. Organisers say the time is right for the Festival to resume its traditional place on the Tayseri event calendar.

“The Citadel - wherever it may be physically located - is the heart of the galaxy,” Bliss organising committee chair Gena Atezea. “It’s only fitting that this festival, celebrating the vibrant and diverse sexuality that is at the heart of so many of our lives, should return here.” Tayseri Ward councilperson Aloci Spep, appearing at the announcement alongside Ms Atezea, emphasised the economic benefits the event would bring, and assured residents that the organisers were cooperating fully with authorities to ensure a trouble-free fortnight.

C-Sec and SATAE’s Office of Border Security issued a joint statement of their own promising full diligence in passing the expected influx of attendees through Citadel and Earth customs, but inside sources have questioned whether Citadel customs workers, already under pressure regarding alleged lapses in standards, can cope with the extra workload.

The customs controversy overshadowed the other big question hovering over Bliss Festival: public reaction to the premiere, announced today by Illium Entertainment, of the big-budget erotic film Citadel XXX 3. The previous film, in which the fictionalised ‘Commander Shepherd’ infiltrated and destabilised a Cerberus/Collector plot, was well-received by critics and audiences, but already criticisms are being levelled against the final instalment, which will take place against the backdrop of the Reaper War itself. IE has begun a pre-emptive publicity blitz in tandem with today’s announcement, with promotions on all major networks and extranet services playing up themes of unity and cooperation in the face of the Reaper threat.

Guess it's time to do those extra stretches, do some more exercise and get ready for some extra money. Not that I'm complaining that much about it, it's good to have something to motivate you to run that extra mile or get those extra crunches in there. :P

This one would like to state that it holds the right to deny service from any of its establishments if dress codes are not followed.

I'll be there! I still have no schedule about which stage will be the one I have to perform on but I trust that their organization will manage that last minute.
having two VIP passes from Ariake will be a blast.

humble hanar, that's neat coming from a species that floats around naked all day :P
(I'll remember it though when I visit your place again, be sure)

Should be fun!

The embassy will have a small event even, a reception of representatives of unions and sisterhoods, so I'll even have to work. But it's one of those occasions where the connections with Illium can be refreshed on a very relaxed level, so it's not a chore.

Is there already a list which clubs will be affiliated and have Special nights?

They're truly doing a porno about the Reaper War. Using the name of a dead woman who can't consent to said name being used.

Just...what?

If I'm getting this right, it's 'unity through banging'.

I'll miss seeing you there, Daia. But you got your bliss, and I got mine. 3:}

The attached image has no planetary identifiers--no sun(s), no unique plant or animal life, nothing to say what world it was taken on. In the distance, forested hills rise up towards the sky. In the foreground, a lazy xemna contentedly chews its cud. A simple wooden sign rising from a bed of rainbow-coloured ornamental flowers bears an ornately carved sunburst and lettering in an obscure turian dialect, but most translator programs can decode it:

PERIHELION ACRES

But I've a rendezvous with Death
At midnight in some flaming town,
When Spring trips north again this year,
And I to my pledged word am true,
I shall not fail that rendezvous.

Oh, yay, sex festival. Maybe I'll get assigned to Earth when it's on so I won't need to gripe about not being able to attend.

Also nice to see you've laid down some roots Sicaria!

One of the nice people who welcomed me to the site explained this to me better and I'm all for it, I don't know any people who would be against it besides, well, the prudes, obviously. Something like this would be good for blowing off steam, relaxing, and I really wish I could be there because I'd probably want quite a few autographs...maybe I can get someone to buy me some knick-knacks from there and ship them to Illium?

And there's my cue to duck out. Rest assured it's not out of any particular distaste for an event like this, the individuals sponsoring it, or general contempt for many of the people from this site who I would be otherwise obligated to share a Ward with.

It's actually because I've come down with a potentially lethal case of dislilikus grandus and have gone to seek medical treatment in the near-Terminus.

Really.

Cough.

Cough.

I, for one, think that it will make a fine addition to my collector's copies of "Hitler Takes on Stalin: Hard 'n Heavy Edition" and the critically acclaimed "UNASS Separationists".

Just wait until you see the star. I hear this time they just put an asari in a wig and told her to do brownface.

Well folks, our berths and hotels are booked, we'll be on the Citadel in time for the festival. Those of you who aren't crazy (you know who you are), I hope to meet some of you there - IE's working closely with the organising committee on this one, and via Playground I've had a peek at a few events, it is going to be a great fortnight.

It's always worked for me! :)

I hope you won't have any trouble of that nature. We do hope the guests of the festival will conduct themselves properly; the organisers and assorted performers and such, you can be sure, are very well aware of the need to dress and act appropriately while outside the Bliss venues themselves. Can't very well go giving ourselves a bad reputation, can we?

Taleeze wrote:I'll be there! I still have no schedule about which stage will be the one I have to perform on but I trust that their organization will manage that last minute.
From what I hear (the rep Ariake set up to deal with Apricity has been in contact with Eafina about some cross-promotion between their entertainment tech show and the club's pavilion at the festival) it's all being taken care of. Sounds like there's a bit of a last-minute flood of interested parties looking for stages and venues to show off in, but nobody's going to be left out.

[Here's] the official list, but I'm sure there a lot more having unofficial events and so on while all those tourists are on station.

There have been dozens of films about Shepard and the war; the Citadel XXX series makes it quite plain that it's a work of fiction simply inspired by real events, and intends no reflection on any of the real people aside from admiration. Her name's different and everything, too.

Okay, tell you what - you promise not to try to blow up Nos Astra in protest at its elite anymore, and I'll see what I can do. Any stars in particular you're after an autograph from?

I can confirm from first-hand experience that Melody Jovia is 100% human.

Okay folks, work's got me busy, so there won't be any photoshopped live blogging or full movie scripts this time (although CX3 will get its own wiki page, which I had far too much fun coming up with silly ideas for); there'll be some kind of IC thread here, probably a 'what's happening today' news update thing, for anyone to comment on this and that. And of course, it's the annual Excuse For Daia To Meet Citadel People - no polite invitations refused. :) It'll probably start in a couple of weeks or so, depending on progress with other threads and real life and whatnot.

And I don't at all disagree. By the time of the original "Hierarchy Hussies Drop Space Rocks" and "Geth Infiltrators, Made to Serve" precedent was well established that pornographic material could tastefully cover such events as the Rebellions or Rannoch Uprising respectively. I see no reason why this should be any different.

I do not blow up things myself, I merely stated that explosives are one of the various kinds of tools we utilize, and at worst we use that kind of stuff for vandalism. We are not terrorists. If you think I value my fanboyism more than my loyalty, well, than, ma'am, I am offended.

Yeah, explosives for vandalism, good luck with that, buddy. Explosives have this kinda bad habit of doing stuff you didn't bargain for, and this is coming from a demolitions professional. Look what happened to me.
