WavesHaveBroken This one is unsure what to place here. Greetings!
This one is about to depart on its study, and it wishes to make note of its progress! A portion of the local human population is observing the festival of the Hallowed Evening, which this one has not yet studied extensively. It is intending to join a train of applicants seeking confections from their neighbours, so as to learn of the festival's significance through direct immersion! It believes this to be very important, and it wishes to gain a rounded perspective on the tradition. It has been made aware of the customary requirement that one present itself in the form of a legendary creature. It has thus researched creatures of myth and has selected one to which it is suited!

An image of a room as seen from the viewpoint of a clearly precariously-balanced recording device. A happily pulsating hanar comes into view, draped in a makeshift costume, consisting mostly of a large black bag draped over the bell, with what we might agree are "scales" glued onto it. Jutting off at irregular angles are plastic claws and leathery wings, of the kind sold cheaply in any store prepared for Halloween, apparently attached haphazardly. The hanar's tentacles are all arrayed so as to point forward.

The stars are correctly aligned! This one will gropingly squeeze Its gelatinous pink immensity through the black doorway!

Nice costume, Laykalar! Some eldritch horror, no doubt?

Can others post their costumes?

This one was making a literary reference. It has selected for its disguise an aquatic creature from Earth mythology, which it finds intriguing.

It regrets to note that it cannot post at length, as the expeditionary group it has joined is proceeding to another location. This one has acquired many confections, which it believes it will use as prizes with the youngest students in future educational quizzes. It has also acquired a lantern. It will report further when it has opportunity!

You're trick-or-treating, Laykalar?

What kind of candy have you got? I've had to give away some candy tonight, I was hoping there was a party and I got a costume, but I've mostly been performing mom duty and candy-giving-out duty. I've been watching lots of alien horror movies. Did you know there's a humansploitation horror movie out there? "Oh, humans are coming to invade! Look how lethal they are with their five-digit hands!"

[The image attached is Sarah dressed like an ancient knight, with silver/steel plate armor complete with an ornate golden trim, a golden eagle spreading it's wings across the torso plate. Sarah also has a rather large sword and a shield at her side, with the same eagle logo emblazoned on the heater shield.]

You would not believe how hot it is in this thing.

It's full of stars! o.O
Very interesting costume idea!
And it looks awesome! I wish you an amusing and successful Halloween evening.

That's always a great thing to do - especially since most of human traditions are fairly unknown to most other species/cultures due humanity's short period amongst interstellar society.
I think it's always worthwhile to try seeing the world through another culture's perspective by exploring their traditions. (For the same reasons I went to my faculty's Halloween party as well. I was disappointed that I appeared to be one of very few non-humans to give this a try.)

[A picture of Preeya, wearing a long dress over her enviro-suit instead of her red appliques, a tall black wig on her helmet and the semi-transparent image of a female face stuck on the front side of her helmet can be seen.
Next to her stands one Salarian wearing a red costume and an artificial white beard, as well as a human dressed up as casual zombie.]

We decided to keep costume ideas based on creatures of earth stories. I tried to feature an old visualization of the "Bride of Frankenstein (Based on a fantastic ancient earth Sci-Fi myth.) and the colleague next to me came as a spooky creature called "Santa".

Heaps of it.

Well, he already does lots of good work for a charity that takes up the majority of his time. He also reads and absorbs the culture of other species in an effort to better himself, so if he does so while having fun in a holiday like this, why would he be ashamed?
You're trying to make him feel the kid feel bad for this? Don't you have more important things to do?

Along with them are several civilians, a passed out krogan, and several skulls (of all species and husks) being lit up either by chem-lights or generic light sources. Everyone present are making vulgar gestures at the camera, while a couple others are brandishing weapons.]

We know you're a terrible racist because you've shown it re: the people who live on your planet and do your scutwork, so why would you like alien-aliens? You remain stuck in the mud, moving on!

I didn't really dress up-I put on my martial arts costume while I was handing out candy because...well, a lot of humans in this building, and it was more fun to run out and get a bag then sit being stubborn about it.

I only need to go out in my work fatigues and everyone is complimenting me on my costume. Except the turians who sneer at my "fake" tier identifiers. Screaming them to do a fifty on the spot in Palavenian seems to rectify the issue.

You look great Laykalar, hope you have (or had, if the Citadel's already celebrated) a great Hallowe'en!

[Here's] a few photos, since we're sharing - I was going to debut a new costume (I'm sure I'll find a use for a Councilor Irissa dress), but quite unexpectedly Vanessa Vansen decided to take us up on the courtesy VIP pass, and since she went to all the effort of getting a convincing bald cap and having all her tattoos applied to come dressed as Jill, it would've been rude not to pull out my Justicar outfit. There's one of the two of us (right before Charisma introduced what she claimed is a traditional game, and I ended up with my face covered in syrup), plus (naturally) me and Ana (not specifically a costume, just one of her themed suits - suitably modified so as not to be a tripping hazard in crowded spaces - but it sure looks evil enough for the purpose, huh?) and a bunch of other party-goers at Apricity, all decked out in autumn colours.

Had no idea of this thing and ended up at a bit of a loss. Sam painted a little red curly moustache on my face with her lipstick and people seemed to find it amusing.

Also, the markup on sweets is outrageous! I find I'm left with a major surplus of 'fun sized' turian snack items, if anyone out there with a dextro diet is interested...

This one would assume the other also has better things to do. Like take care of its offspring instead.

We expected to behave in a certain way, and certain manner among those of whom we are not close too and this one will take as much time as it needs to, to remind others of this.
